#1 of 14 hotels in Camps Bay
Travellers' Choice
Cool beyond question is POD Camps Bay. A true Africa original realised in a stunning set of decor elements, POD is both raw yet polished. See naked Africa design timber dropping into stone, shifting into glass, imbuing a sense of seaside sophistication so often attempted but so rarely achieved. 17 modern suites and rooms share the spoils of idyllic mountain and ocean views. Primely located a mere 50 meters from the silky sands of the famous Camps Bay beachfront with its trendy restaurants and bars. POD Camps Bay offers a luxurious 5 star boutique hotel experience. It is little wonder that POD appears on the Condé Nast Hot List 2011, and finds its place among Tatler's 101 Best Hotels in the World.

Brochure very cleverly photographed, it failed to show what you see when you walk onto your balcony...I.E. one of the oldest buildings in Camps Bay, an absolute eye sore. A tower block of about 7 stories high and also a hugh extension going on to someones property which will virtually obscure the sea view which you might have had. The hotel was lovely and also the staff but the view situation was so so disappointing. We will not return for this reason.

Earlier this year my wife and I read an article in the English Tatler, describing a new “boutique” hotel, just 15 minutes drive the other side of the mountain from the centre of Cape Town, as one of the 100 best in the world. Accordingly, we were delighted that we able to spend a few nights there on our recent visit to Cape Town. The Pod turned out to be all that was claimed; delightful, restrained contemporary, welcoming and excellently located just back from the popular beach-front with views of the lovely white sandy beach and sparkling blue sea. Our room was well designed, leading out to its own private terrace and plunge pool. A generous and delicious breakfast was provided in the dining room before we set out for the day. Our stay was made especially pleasant by the

We moved here from a big business hotel after being utterly frustrated with the service and quality of the internet etc etc... All I can say what a delightful experience from the moment we walked through the door all the way through check-out. Friendly, down to earth, staff made sure we had everything we need without being in your face all the time, with fake smiles...We travel a LOT for work, so have had my fair share of Boutique Hotels - it's a fine line balancing Fine Design / Comfort and being Pretentious. Thankfully the POD stays way clear of being pretentious. Everything is very low key, but spot on, with a eye for quality - from the delicious, healthy breakfast to the bar service next to the pool every night. The Rooms are fantastic, spacious, beautifully

We fell in love with Cape Town. We fell in love with it while staying at your Hotel on a recent business-leisure trip. It was everything the marketing said it would be. And then some. Just fabulous. We never wanted for anything. Except maybe for a few more days there. What made it for us is that we never needed to ask for anything and your staff were just fabulous. Care was the staff byword and they clearly loved looking after the guests. I wish we had more time to write and name all the staff personally who made our stay so exemplary but let’s just call it a collective thank you to all of them. The rooms were superb, The breakfasts can never be forgotten. The position (for access restaurants and shops was perfect. We loved the pool and pool bar and of course just across the

A friend from Cape Town recommended this stunning hotel to us and we loved everything about it. Very well situated but not on the noisy main road, good, friendly service, very clean with beautiful modern styling and great views. Definitely coming back soon!
