Cool beyond question is POD Camps Bay. A true Africa original realised in a stunning set of decor elements, POD is both raw yet polished. See naked Africa design timber dropping into stone, shifting into glass, imbuing a sense of seaside sophistication so often attempted but so rarely achieved. 17 modern suites and rooms share the spoils of idyllic mountain and ocean views. Primely located a mere 50 meters from the silky sands of the famous Camps Bay beachfront with its trendy restaurants and bars. POD Camps Bay offers a luxurious 5 star boutique hotel experience. It is little wonder that POD appears on the Condé Nast Hot List 2011 and 2024, as well as finds its place among Tatler's 101 Best Hotels in the World.

Best choice I made for our 3 days in Cape Town! Camps Bay is considered as the South African Miami… long white beach, good restaurants and leisure cocktails vibes! POD Camps is the place to be for enjoying at the maximum this joyful place! Service and Staff are very kind and professional, they assist you in everything like having a persons butler always ready to find a solution for every kind of requests! Breakfast is WOW effect and you must try their underwater Gym as well!
What we loved the most? Our private heated pool in our room pavilion! Of course we will come back!

Our 2nd time staying at POD, we loved it so much we had to come back.

For me what makes this hotel is the staff, they are all amazing and after only a few days they all make you feel completely at home and like family. As we were returning guests from a previous year I was slightly surprised that everyone remembered us and greeted us so warmly as soon as we walked in, making us feel like we had never left.

The level of service at the hotel is impeccable and they are all extremely helpful. Over several months before our arrival they were excellent in assisting with booking restaurants and activities, even for the days before we were checking in with them and were staying elsewhere in the Winelands. Nothing is ever too much to ask and for that I am truly grateful.

The hotel and rooms are extremely well done with amazing architecture and interior design features, the whole place is very sleek and incredibly well put together.

The location is amazing with views of the beach and ocean but set back one street from it and moments walking distance into the shops and restaurants of Camps Bay. As the pool area is overlooking the street if you are staying over Xmas and NYE when there are public holidays and it is busy do be prepared for a bit of road noise whilst sunbathing.

It is very hard to knock anything about this hotel, my only feeling is that the current pricing is a tad expensive but going over the peak time (Christmas through New Year) it is expected if you want to stay in Camps Bay.

Thank you all the POD team for giving us another wonderful stay!

One of the best hotel stays we've ever had. Everyone was quite hospitable and went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed our time there. I've seriously never interacted with such a consistently good staff across the board.

The room was kept well-stocked with snacks and alcohol, all of which was included. We had a comfy bed and a fantastic waterfall shower. As this was our honeymoon, they graciously upgraded us to a larger room with a balcony and a beautiful view!

We stayed immediately prior to closures related to COVID-19 and we felt that the staff made several extra precautions to ensure safety and cleanliness. We saw staff cleaning at all hours, maintaining appropriate social distancing, etc. and it made us feel very safe while we were there.

We'll definitely be back again when we return to South Africa!

The worst thing about staying at POD is having to leave. We were there in April and again for a week last week. POD is the one place that you can really call home. The staff know us by name; our stylishly modern room is always welcoming and appointed with everything you need and things you don't even know you need. We used the full size nail scissors everyday ! The hairdryer conveniently plugs in by the mirror and our electronics into the international plug points by the bedside. When we didn't feel like going out to eat, our order in food was plated as if it had been cooked in house. The same day laundry service was a much welcomed bonus to our long stay. Thank you Micaela and Wesley for our warm stay

On arrival the hotel made sure that our vehicle was parked safely in their underground parking and our luggage was taken up to our rooms. To add to that we had booked standard luxury rooms with seaside views but were quickly upgraded to luxury rooms with pools.

Would definitely come back.

We can’t say enough good things about this resort. From start to finish, we were spoiled beyond belief.

We decided to end our 2 week stay in Cape Town with a bit of luxury. It was unbelievable - WOW!

We actually showed up a week before our check-in to “pop in” as we were on the “hop on/hop off” bus and had made a stop at Camps Bay. When we showed up, the staff was so welcoming and we enjoyed a complimentary glass of bubbles outside by the pool and got some great advice about our upcoming trip to Franschhoek.

When we showed up a week later for our “actual” stay, we were completely blown away. The staff, the service, the breakfast, the room, the wine and cheese nights to enjoy the sunsets were incredible. We did not want to leave. On our last day, our flights back to Heathrow were at 9pm so after we checked out, they held on to our luggage while we enjoyed the poolside and even got to shower in their spa area before we left for the airport. Brent spoiled us every day with delicious drinks and a healthy wrap by the pool for lunch.

Coming from Toronto and the UK, it was a long journey but it’s safe to say that we would definitely come back and recommend it to everyone.

Perfect in just about every way...

I would be remiss if I didn't start my review by saying that I have never stayed at a hotel that the staff treated us like family and so incredibly well. They did everything they could to attend to our needs, treat us like king and queen, and make sure we were comfortable. The front desk knew us by name and the other staff (bartender, doorman, etc.) were just outstanding. I would stay here again solely because of the staff. Two examples - it was my birthday during our stay and they surprised me with a cake in the room and also provided a bottle of champagne.

Location wise, you are a block from the beach and most of the rooms have at least partial ocean views. The lobby and bar/pool area also have mostly full ocean views. Nearby, you can walk to coffee, bars, banks, and a grocery store. (all within 10 minutes walking). If you want to be in Camp's Bay, the location is basically perfect since you are close to everything, but not in everything.

The room we rented was on the first floor with a plunge pool. The shower was great, the toilet was separate, and the room was spacious. The bed was comfy (king size), minibar stocked and included in your stay, had a separate sitting area inside, and then the outdoor patio had two large loungers and a bench with covering where you could lay. The pool was perfect to relax and sip a drink. Was it "small", yes, but it was perfect for two people relaxing.

Breakfast is included and made to order. It was quite good. Additionally, they have a wide selection of movies and they will pop you popcorn so you can have a movie and popcorn afternoon or night! (Or morning I guess :) )

Finally, they have a generator so you are not impacted by the occasional rolling blackouts.

The only single negative was that the air con was not working during our stay, which was the only negative. They did get us a fan and made the situation right. Because they handled it so well they still get a five star in my eyes. Thank you Pod for a great stay on our honeymoon.

We’re winding down our 10 night stay here, and it has been absolutely magnificent. The first night we arrived, I was disappointed that there were no wine or spirits in the mini-bar. After a 21-hour flight, a hot shower and a nightcap were all I wanted. The next day, I brought it to the staff’s attention and they immediately apologized and corrected the issue. The ability to quickly correct mistakes is in many ways more important than never having made a mistake. The staff has been incredibly attentive, and consistently personable. They honestly make you feel as if no request is too much. I could best describe the treatment as pampering. The included breakfast is also exquisitely prepared, and delivery to your room is complimentary. The location and hotel design were obviously designed to optimize the guest experience, and it does. We’ve traveled the world, and have been lucky enough to never have had a bad experience. However, this hotel provided a world-class experience easily set apart from all others. Never mind the cost, it’s worth every cent.

PODS Camps Bay takes "Boutique" to the level we all expect when we hear the word, yet rarely receive. From the moment we arrived (we stayed 3 nights; 3 couples, with 2 teenage children, total of 8, rented 4 rooms of various categories), we were treated as though our comfort during our stay was of the utmost importance to everyone involved. My husband and I were shown to our beautiful corner suite and every aspect of the room's functionality was explained to us. It's actually difficult to explain. But there was an incredible feeling of "welcome" that I got every time we walked through the front door and someone offered us complimentary water (still or sparkling). They were there to meet our every request, from restaurant reservations to explaining the Lion's Head hike and insuring we had all that we needed before we departed. They customized the contents of our in room wet bar to meet our specific needs -- no other hotel has ever offered to do this. Such a simple thing makes your stay so much more comfortable. And the breakfast, definitely the best I have ever had. You order what you want and they offer fresh suggestions for the day and everything is served with a smile. And it's all amazing. Very clean, cool place and will definitely recommend to friends and visit again..... but I will stay longer next time.

Pods Camps Bay was hands down one of the best boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed in. My every need was taken care of thanks to the five star service and the staff here showed me the true meaning of South African hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble and they made me feel so welcome, right from the very start. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, but the service was what made it extra special.

Every room at Pods Camps Bay was unique. I fell in love with my modern, contemporary room with clean lines, a neutral color scheme and lots of thoughtful design touches. I had beautiful beach and mountain views that never failed to put a smile on my face.

I loved the fresh, healthy breakfast each morning and I so enjoyed exploring the famous Camps Bay, which was just steps away! It was such a cool area full of culture and it made me understand why Cape Town is such a beloved city among luxury travelers.

My only regret was that I didn’t stay longer!

Dear Kalifa282003, Thank you for your enquiry. We understand your concerns regarding the current drought in the Western Cape. Although we are encouraging guests to be conscious of their water usage, we can confirm that the operations of our hotel have not been affected. Our pools, laundry and other basic services are being supplied by our own borehole water. We have also made arrangements for a water supply from a non-drought area to be transported to us, should our borehole water not be sufficient. In addition, we have a UV water filtration system in place along with adequate bottled spring water stockpiled for drinking purposes. Most restaurants have proactively implemented water savings and water augmentation solutions to ensure ongoing availability of water in their establishments. You will still be able to enjoy primary tourism attractions such as our iconic Table Mountain, Cape Point, and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, to name a few. Cape Towns’ tourism sector contributes enormously to our economy and supports approximately 300 000 jobs. In peak seasons, international visitors only add 1% to the population of the Western Cape and if all visitors adhere to the suggested guidelines, the impact which our guests would place on the situation would be insignificant. We can assure you that the drought will not adversely affect our guests' stay with us. Warm regards, Micaela and Meagan (POD Management) +27 21 438 8550

Dear Mohammad H, Thank you for your enquiry. Kindly note that POD does not offer nightlife activities, however, the nightlife is only a mere 10 - 15 minutes drive. We would be happy to assist you with recommendations upon booking. There are restaurants and bars on the main Camps Bay strip, within walking distance from POD. A local favorite in Camps Bay is "Cafe Caprice" which is popular on weekends. I trust the above was of assistance to you. Warm regards, The POD Team
