Definitely not up to standard - broken lampshades and cupboards, bed in need of replacement, couldn't fit in the shower, no breakfast on site, very little communication with guests. Obviously used a good photographer.
Rooms were comfortable although windows could not shut tight which was inconvenient as it was cold and very windy: even the curtains were moving when drawn. One was aware of every sound other guests were making, even into the early hours of the morning. Breakfasts vouchers were great, especially since one could use them any time of the day.
I booked for a week but checked out after one night. Plus my refund was refused by the hotel despite the following: 1. Poor hotel security- with the front gate being left open and therefore allowing non-residents in. 2. Under staffed hotel. Although the staff present did a good job - they were overstretched and I shouldn’t have to search for people. 3. Extremely slow wifi / internet speeds that weren’t suitable to even access email, let alone conduct zoom calls and other functions I needed for my stay. 4. Adjacent room was connected by a door, and my neighbors were noisy. 5. Poor TV picture quality associated with frequency and connectivity issues. 6. Outdated room bathroom, TV and light fittings.
We spent an evening at this bed and breakfast. The hotel is clean and has friendly staff. The place is situated close to all amenities and has spectacular views of the mountain and sea. Value for money!
идеальное тихое место в старом доме со своей атмосферой рядом пляж и много ресторанов и кафе дом находится в престижном районе ideal quiet place in an old house with its own atmosphere near the beach and many restaurants and cafes the house is located in a prestigious area
Location is great, staff were amazing but was disappointed with the lightning in the room. It was almost impossible to read. Bathroom area could do with an upgrade, bedding didn't fit completely over the bed, towels in the bathroom could've been bigger and a small desk to work on would've helped. But great value for money setting all of the above aside for a day or two.
Charming large old style rooms gave us a relaxing atmosphere. The "sister" hotel located in front towards the beach gave noise shelter for the traffic on main road. Excellent breakfast on next-door restaurant, but breakfast coupon normally covered only 60-70 % of the costs.
Location across the road from the beach. Lovely breakfast provided in a cafe/bar directly outside the hotel. A 240 Rand voucher is given for spending in the cafe, if you go over the limit you pay the extra. The voucher is ample to purchase a good cooked breakfast and a drink. Lovely restaurants very close by. Cape Town 15 minutes easy drive or Uber away. Nice pool area. Staff very helpful. Car parking easy and secure.
This accommodation was in an excellent location and had lovely big rooms. High standards of cleanliness and wonderful reception staff especially the ever obliging Marion. Nothing was too much trouble for her
I was looking for two nights in Cape Town before joining my spring plant life tour group in August 2019. I wanted a good location, and had heard of Camps Bay, starting with surfing/bodyboarding videos on YouTube. As it turned out, Fairways/Place on the Bay has a splendid location at the north end of a busy restaurant and retail strip, tucked into a residential neighborhood, and at a pedestrian crosswalk to the rather busy beach, which had an offshore wind, big waves, and surfers as I arrived. I had signed up for the Fairways' most modest room, on the ground floor without a view. This was for price, and also because I didn't expect to hang around. The room was nicely decorated, excellent bath facilities, but a little odd in lacking a desk, so I sat on the bed next to the (useful) refrigerator. The lobby is a spacious "living room" with coffee. The area remained busy Saturday evening and Sunday morning, the surf had calmed and a sizable, motley group of people assembled for a recreational one-mile swim (60º water, some wearing wetsuits, most not). I headed out for a day using the hop-on, hop-off bus to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. The Fairways/Place on the Bay staff were helpful with local information and arranging my taxi to the next hotel. I had a very comfortable time and couldn't have had a more pleasant introduction to Cape Town. And of course the Camp Bay setting at the foot of Table Mountain is spectacular.…
