Taking a journey of about 1450 - 1600km by road is stressful on the human body though the N1 or N12 scenery might be impressive and calming; the body needs a break almost halfway through. Beaufort West is just that excellent refreshment town which make such a break on your journey worth the while. Bakgat Blyplek is then the place to go!! Karoo Hospitality untold and high standards that is most definitely competition for city life domestic accommodation with all the jingle & bells that goes with it. It is not crowded and never can be. It have a cool and safe splash pool that opens in November for summer with a private "Braai" area. Uncapped WiFi, DStv, restaurant vouchers, etc is available and the furniture and linen is pure quality. One night here feels like a sin as it provides the atmosphere of a holiday! Hosts Christiaan & Cornel are always hands-on and very friendly. Location is just right; near known restaurants of good quality and not far from the CBD but just out of the huss & buff of a busy day. I strongly recommend a stay over which I know will become a regular to the serious tourists / business family. Go and Enjoy!!

We make use of overnight accommodation regularly, this was one of the best of all, including value for money. Everything was perfect, very neat, well equipped with all we needed. There was really nothing wrong with this stay!

We were four guys travelling north on business. We needed a self-catering stopover in Beaufort West with four rooms and this was perfect for our needs. The accommodation was secure, clean and comfortable and we had a great barbecue with plenty of wood and fire starters provided. Great value for money.

You will kick yourself if you stay somewhere else in Beaufort West, only to find out much later that Bakgat Blyplek stands head and shoulders above any other guesthouse in Beaufort West . Apart from the great attention that was paid to interior decorating (I mean leather couches, comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, a spacious kitchen with all you need to cook up a storm, etc), careful attention was paid to small (but important things like good quality towels, a full DSTV package, free wood for your very own braai. a generator for those load shedding moments, etc). Very close to restaurants if you do not want to make breakfast yourself and very secure with a pool to cool off in summer. And the price for an overnight stay is a bargain,

A superb place to stay especially if you are overnighting on your way to or from Cape Town. We had a 2 bedroom really luxury unit which was in mint condition and with very modern fittings. Will be recommending Bakgat to friends. Well done guys on making our stay easy and comfortable.

If you need an oasis on your trip to Cape Town, this is the place. Extremely clean, modern accommodation that is well stocked with high quality accessories/utensils for personal cleaning, as well as feeding and cooking needs. It has all the comforts one can ever need after a long drive. You will not regret your stay here. Definitely deserves all stars…

We have had the opportunity to stay with Christiaan and Cornel at Bakgat twice now, and what a stay it was on both occasions. Their place is spotless, beautiful and the most equipped self-catering facilities we have had the privilege to stay at. The hospitality is fantastic and even during the crazy times we have during this pandemic, they organised the entire process to suit those as myself that are still fearful of what is happening, that my family and I did not feel uneasy even once during the stay. Thanks Christiaan and Cornel for all and making our trip so much more worth the while.

We stayed over for one night at Bakgat Blyplek. It is the neatest and most clean accommodation I have seen in a long time. Our cars could park behind an electrical gate right next to the unit we stayed in. There is an outside braai area with a table. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Definitely value for money.
