Stayed at 17 on Bird twice in last 2 weeks and enjoyed our stay on both occasions. Booking went very smoothly and the follow up from the venue was well managed. The 2 rooms we were allocated were both very comfortable and larger than many of the guest houses and B&B's we have used on our numerous travels. Beds are very comfortable and en-suite bathrooms well appointed.
The cherry on top is the staff. The front desk staff are extremely efficient and helpful, have great senses of humour, and nothing seems to be too much for them. As an example, we were contacted on the day of arrival to check what time they could expect us and asked if we would be using the restaurant. We had chosen a meal but I also mentioned our disappointment at the fact that a meal we have enjoyed previously was no longer on the menu. A few minutes later they phoned back to say that the chef was happy to make us the lamb pie, even though it had only been a special on our previous visit. The meal was excellent but the way that the Guest House had gone out of their way to make us comfortable is exceptional.
Well done to all staff on your professionalism, your manner in dealing with visitors, the cleanliness of the rooms and venue in general, as well as your general running of the venue. We will definitely visit again.

Staff very friendly, the room was comfortable, bedding clean. There was only a shower in the room, but I'm sure some of the rooms might have a bath if you'd prefer. It's good for overnight stays, they do serve breakfast and dinner at extra cost. There is a swimming pool on the property as well for warmer days

Beautiful old house, renovated with everything you might need, for a one night stop or longer. Scrumptious home-cooked meals served to your door, made it very convenient to eat inn with two little kids. Kids could play in the back yard or in main house's garden. Must be a lovely stop over during with the pool and garden to enjoy.

Not the firsts time we stayed over but was surprised at how they changed the prices from the booking. Booked online and advise that 2 pets will stay over but no amount charged for pets, but when I arrived at the accommodation they advised that they noticed I mentioned 2 pets and there will be an additional costs. Also charged additional even thought I booked 2 room. Then requested instead of paying for 2 roomsfor 3 people, we would use the 1 room that had a king bed plus 2 bunk beds but they could not change the booking. So had to pay double for the 1 room as for 2 people as well as for another room. Stayed previously and there was no additional cost for pets. Paid additional for the pets but not sure for what, they had no pet water bowls in the rooms and were not able to supply one.

It was my third stay at 17 on Bird Guest House and once again enjoyed it and was not disappointed.. The rooms are spacious with everything your need for your stay, great air conditioning which cools down your room quickly and dinner was delicious. Relaxing outside watching the ducks on the pond of the adjacent property is very calming after a long road trip. The staff is also very friendly and professional and accommodated me when I changed my date of stay three times! Thank you for a very relaxing overnight stay - you are my "go to" accommodation in Beaufort West!

Stayed over for one night on way to Cape Town and soo pleased I found this little gem with a perfectly firm bed! A good nights' sleep is the best prep for another day on the road. We did not eat at the guest house as we had lam burgers at 4 Sheep but the accommodation was spot on and everything we needed was there. Even enough place in the fridge for our cooler box content. It was neat and spotlessly clean. I would make this my preferred place of stay on future trips to the Cape.

We were greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist and enjoyed our stay. After a long and strenuous trip on a very hot day, the airconditioned room and very comfortable bed were most welcome. We did not make use of the restaurant , but it seemed to be well presented and value for money

Stayed one night and really enjoyed it. Our hosts were friendly and our rooms were super clean and spacious. We had dinner on the premises and enjoyed the lamb- The lamb pie was a winner at the table and the servings were generous! Great way to kick off a holiday.

This is the 3rd time I've visited and each is more pleasant than the last. We stay here when traveling between Cape Town and Johannesburg. They organized meals in the cottage since we were running behind schedule and arrived after dinner was served. Comfy touches such as electric blankets to stave off the cold, a cot and heater to warm the room. I really love this place! The enclosed garden at the back ensures that kids have a safe place to run around while parents can relax.

We booked at 17 on Bird at very short notice on a trip back from Bloem. The service and staff were extremely helpful and friendly, while the food was of high quality. I can suggest smaller portions or maybe half portions at a reduced price.
