This is the second time I stayed here and I was very happy with my decision on both occasions. These must be some of the best dorm beds I've slept on in South Africa: They are absolutely massive, really comfortable, with plugs and reading lamps... you really can't ask for anything more than that. The staff were also very friendly...

Good day Rudi and thank you so much for your review. It was as always a pleasure to host you and we are always so pleased when guests return to enjoy the comfort of our home. We are sure we will see you again sometime, until then all the best and thanks for spreading the word!!

The staff was very lovely and welcoming. Unfortunately the rooms are right next to a major trucking highway. Traffic noise makes it almost impossible to sleep with trucks passing 10m in front of the house. Do not stay here, if you are used to sleeping in very noisy surroundings. Rooms are simple and acceptably clean. Payment had to be made...

Great Great people, such a warm feeling and awesome backpackers with people coming from all over the world. Something special about this place. Upstairs room with 6 beds with lots of room. there is lots of information available about the town and open space downstairs with a common room, kitchen and outdoor space.

Me and my boyfriend had a short stop over at Karoo Backpackers on our way to Cape Town. The town is quiet and doesn't have much going for it, however the backpackers we stayed in was very comfortable and we felt so welcome by both of the lovely receptionists. They were very helpful when it came to deciding where to...

Although the trucks roaring through the town are a bit disturbing at night, this is one of the better backpackers around. The rooms are clean and efficient and the kitchen works well. We return here every year and the standard remains very good

A good place to stop if you're travelling on the N1 from Cape Town. It is on the highway, and there seems to be a constant flow of trucks, but they didn't disturb my sleep in the twin ensuite room at the back of the building - maybe the thick walls of this old Karoo building insulated it. The building...

This place is awesome! We arrived here late at night after 4 days of music festival absolutely exhausted. We were welcomed and made to feel at home. The beds are big and comfortable and bathrooms clean. If you looking for a stop over between Pretoria and Cape Town, this place is perfect.

The Karoo backpackers was amazing. We were treated so well, and found the accommodations clean, warm and very comfortable. Thanks so much to Jo and team for being so very accommodating and amazing. We arrived much later than we had anticipated and even this was no trouble at all. We had a lovely six sleeper room and the kids loved...

The N1 Highway runs through the town of Beaufort-West and this means it runs 5 meters away from the place that you sleep. No window can be opened due to this. Fortunedly it wasn't a hot night when we stayed here on our way to Jo'burg from Capetown. We paid R 420 for a room (no breakfast) for two with...

The service was great here, so friendly and helpful for where to go out for dinner etc. Even when we booked they were very helpful, as I booked the last en suite for my parents, and my sister and her boyfriend, as well as my boyfriend and myself into what they had left, which was the double bedrooms and a...
