We stayed here for 4 nights after booking on short notice on booking.com - be aware that Ed will give you a 10% discount if you book directly through his website rather than booking.com or TripAdvisor!

Ed was very welcoming when we arrived and gave us a room from which we could see our parked car. There isn't gated parking but it is a safe area and we didn't have any problems, you don't have to worry about parking your car on the street here.

The room was light and a decent size. We had a room with a private external bathroom which was also large. The bed was amazingly comfortable and warm, even in the cold night of winter. The bedroom was also tastefully decorated.

Our shower always had hot water, Ed made sure of this! We could help ourselves to clean towels and had access to the kitchen, including the fridge and microwave.

The wifi facilities are excellent and a lot faster than most places. It's available in all the rooms.

Another real benefit of staying here is that there are so many good restaurants and cafes on nearby Regent Street. The guesthouse is also close to the Waterfront and the ocean. It really is ideal for visiting tourists.

We would definitely recommend Bantry Bay Guesthouse. Ed is very entertaining and runs a clean, quiet guesthouse.

When my wife and I visit Cape Town, we always stay over in Bantry Bay. This time round was no different, but we decided to try a different accommodation. We came across Bantry Bay Guesthouse on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go. And what a find it turned out to be! Located in the heart of Bantry Bay, within a stone's throw from the shops and the beach, the location is great. We received a very warm welcome from one of the guesthouse's two proprietors, Allan. He gave us a tour of the residence, and explained how everything worked. The residence is small but roomy and very neat. No children or noisy people are allowed, so it is very quiet. There are three rooms to choose from, two with its own ensuite bathroom each. The kitchen has everything for light meals, but no cooking on the gas stove is allowed. We had the outside room with ensuite bathroom. Although it only has one small window, it has its own entrance from the street and is very private. If you are looking for a home away from home at a great price in a great location, look no further. We cannot wait for our next visit to Ed and Allan. Cheers!

Great accommodation: safe and secure in nice upper class part of town. Central located for beach, sightseeings and shops. Enjoyed my 3 weeks stay in November last year. Have booked another stay for end 2010! Looking forward to be back!
Note: unlimited internet acces was free of charge :-)

We stayed 9 days at the Bantry Bay Guesthouse and loved it. Very reasonably priced ($45 USD/night) for the nice upscale seafront area of Bantry Bay. All other accomodation in the area is much more expensive. It really felt like our home away from home and the owner, Ed, was so gracious and hospitable. He did our laundry for free and free internet was a bonus! The house is very tastefully decorated. We loved our stay and would love to return someday!! Highly recommended!

We had a really great stay here, both Ed and Alan were very friendly and helpful. The location is good and with a short drive or bus journey you can get in to town or to one of the many beautiful beaches in the area. The rooms were clean and well looked after with a nice kitchen and terrace area to relax outside. All for a very reasonable price.

Out stay at the Bantry Bay Guesthouse was incredibly enjoyable. Our room (double room ensuite) was nice and very comfortable. Ed was the most gracious host and we thoroughly enjoyed his company! The wifi worked very well, there was access to laundry (which Ed willingly did for us) and you can store food in the refrigerator as well. The surrounding area is beautiful and the oceanfront is a short walk away. I would recommend this guesthouse to absolutely anybody!

This was our second time staying with Ed at the guesthouse-he could not have been more helpful. The guesthouse is a short walk to the seafront and shops-yet the area is quiet and we always felt safe.We stayed in the same basement double room with shower-and loved the outside patio area with cactus plants to either have a coffee or chat to the other guests. The communal kitchen was great to use when we needed it.When we return to Cape Town in years to come we will always stay here!
