Stayed for a few nights in late May. Amazing, warm, friendly, informative and extremely helpful welcome. Boutique hotel, lovely room and excellent location. The beach, hop on hop off tour stops and some amazing restaurants are all within a short walk and the waterfront, table mountain etc are a short taxi ride away. Breakfast was good and the staff were amazing. We had a lovely room and best of all, the hotel is in a quiet location
Recommended by Trailfinders, our experience of meeting Karen, Aaron, Vanda and Diverson was a real pleasure. As my husband said, nothing at all wrong with the service or breakfast (indeed he announced yesterday that the chef was a “master egg poacher” Some elements that can’t be changed but are a bit strange; the absence of a real reception which means entering into a hallway/living room/bar area. The layout of the rooms - ours was alongside the pool Some elements that can: decor overall. Our room was clean but dark and dingy; the bath and shower caulk needed replacing; and upstairs is just a bit 80s in style Summary is that hotel provision has moved on and, for us, even taking the lovely staff into account, it’s s a 4 not 5* hotel
Trying to be hipster but doesn’t come off. Not excited to see wilted rose pedals strewn in my room. Carpet was long over due for shampoo and frankly dirty. Expected it to be vacuumed next day, not. A yuck factor. As it’s so small you are conspicuous, not my thing. No ocean view but for a sliver in common space. Breakfast adequate. Service excellent. Lovely spa downstairs with good services.
The staff made us feel very welcome - great recommendations for dinner; organising taxis; in general, just very helpful. Hotel is 2 minute walk down a hill to the path that follows the sea - north to the V&A Waterfront (1 1/2 hour walk) and south to Camps Bay (1 hour walk) - both walks were excellent. Hotel is very clean; breakfast is good with view of the sea in the distance from the terrace.
We had a great few days at this hotel. All the staff were so helpful and friendly and made us feel so welcome and relaxed. They offered great advice on where to go and what to do to maximise our stay in Cape Town. The hotel itself is really nice - clean and tidy. The shower was really spacious and powerful. We were spoilt at breakfast with a selection of really tasty food, including made to order breakfasts. The hotel is also ideally located just a 5 minute walk from the sea front and a short taxi ride ( around 100-150 Rand) from the beautiful waterfront in the centre of the city. An all round great experience and would recommend to anyone staying in Cape Town. Thank you to all the team at this hotel for such a warm welcome and enjoyable stay - such lovely people.
