High up, on the slopes of Lion’s Head Mountain, you’ll feel the sun, but not the wind. Ocean, stretching further than the eye can see. The South Atlantic, home to passing pods of dolphins and whales. Cape Town with its lively Waterfront is just along the coastline, a 15-minute drive down through Sea Point. Inside, luxurious en-suite rooms; each one designed and furnished to make your stay with us relaxing and your time here feeling far too short. Come for a holiday, for business, an intimate wedding or family celebration. Our warmest welcome is waiting.

52 De Wet was the perfect place to stay during our Cape Town vacation. The views were spectacular (which made it hard to leave sometimes!). The patio was the perfect spot to watch the sunset with our sundowners (Judy and Marnie make the BEST G&Ts!) every evening. Everyone at this hotel was incredibly nice and helpful and did everything they could to make our stay as amazing as it was. We will definitely be back here when we make our way back to Cape Town!

What a special place! From the personal and family-like service to the location tucked up on the hillside overlooking the ocean (but not a far walk to Lion's Head) I wish I could have stayed longer. The hotel was quiet, intimate and stunning. Russell and Marnie were so welcoming, from early-check-in, to a room upgrade, to pouring me a glass of wine to enjoy on the patio while I ate my take-out to having a long conversation about our travel experiences. The art collection is a special surprise in a place that manages to balance sophistication with comfort. I loved the huge tubs in stylish rooms, but what you remember are the experiences like the happy hour where they drink you make you a gin and topic so you can enjoy the spectacular sunset, the kitchen where homemade cakes and

We're going to need something beyond "excellent" here, people. This is a superb small hotel in every way imaginable: the location, views, rooms, food, artwork and attention to detail. My husband, our adult daughter and I spent three delightful days at 52, occupying the apartment on the lower level. The staff--Judy, Lucas and Glorie--were consistently upbeat, warm and gracious. By the second day, we felt like family. (David, who sometimes joined us at breakfast, contributed his fair share to that.) While this is a "deluxe" hotel, it never felt stuffy or formal, which we appreciated. We've tried to replicate Judy's G&T's here at home, without success. And we were foolish enough to leave without Lucas's recipe for apple cake. I guess we're going to have to go back.

My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at 53 De Wet last week for 4 nights, what a gem ! This place is fabulous, firstly I have to mention the staff, they make you feel like you’re very welcome guests in their home. On the first day we had arrived Lucas had made freshly made banana bread, it was so nice we asked him for the recipe. He was scheduled to be off when we were leaving so he he wrote out the recipe and left it input room with his secret ingredient Tonka Beans. Breakfast was great, nothing is too much trouble for the staff at this establishment. I also have to mention Judy, on the first day I struggled to find a taxi back to the hotel in the evening and I called her in despair, she quickly came to my rescue and called me while on route back to the hotel to make

Spectacular view...what better way to wake up looking out over the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Town. We stayed in the penthouse room which was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. I will repeat it again...the view from the penthouse balcony was spectacular. Breakfast was simple but good! They have local gin during sunset. I still do not know the name of the gin drink but it was amazing and very refreshing. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Prior to our trip Marnie was very responsive to emails and booked excursions during our stay. We will definitely return to 52 De Wet....remarkable stay

Thank you so much for your kind review, we are truly blessed to have such wonderful views. Whether it is summer, winter or whale season the sunsets and seemingly never ending ocean views never fail to disappoint. We are extremely lucky to be able to share these moments with our guests over a gin and tonic cocktail. We look forward to welcoming you back to 52 De Wet in the future, Kind Regards, Marnie, Russell and the Team
