My husband and I spent 5 nights here back in November. It was out last stop on our trip to South Africa to celebrate my birthday. This is our second visit to Cape Town as it is such a beautiful city with so many things and places to explore. 52 De Wet location was good. A short walk down the hills to Bantry Bay, which has a few cafes and restaurants. You can also catch the hop on, hop off bus from there. Camps Bay is approx. a 20min walk during the day and you would need to catch an uber back at night. Waterfront is approx. a 5-10min drive. We used the hop on hop off bus for 2 days when we arrived to get our bearings and explore the closer sights such as Table Mountain, Signal Hill, Kirstenbosch, Bo-Kaap, Waterfront, the wineries of Constantia and Camps bay. Then hired a car

Thank you for your review, we are deeply disappointed that we did not meet your expectations. Loadshedding is less than ideal no matter how much you pay for your room and unfortuntely the government often give us no notice of such outages. During loadshedding, the power often goes off for 2hours at a time. I am surprised to hear that you couldn't see the rest of the hotel due to the lacking of light, as we have many torches and candles lighting up our walkways and our rooms, I am so sorry if this was not the case on your arrival and will address this with the night manager. Sadly a generator is not an option for us as we are situated in a residential area and the noise that they create is too much of a disturbance for both our neighbours and our guests. Thankfully we do not have loadshedding very often and now have a wifi box to ensure our guests staying in or working during this time at least have access to the internet. Apologises once again, it really does sadden us to hear that we were not over and above every guests expectations. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to make amends. Kind Regards, Marnie, Russell and The Team

From the moment we were greeted by Russ the owner on our arrival we felt at home in this beautiful boutique hotel perched up high with sensational views. Georgia and the team are on hand to attend to your every need. Our room was beautiful and filled with gorgeous products and there is loads of space for all your clothes etc. The pool terrace is fabulous with comfortable beds and a breathtaking view. The hotel is also filled with the most stunning sculptures and pictures. We couldn’t have asked for anything better for our last two days in South Africa and won’t hesitate to return here in the future.

This was our second stay and was just as enjoyable. Russell and Georgia made us so welcome and went out of there way to make our stay perfect in every way. Breakfast was delicious with a huge choice of beautiful cooked hot dishes. Could have spent all day in the communal kitchen eating home made cake and biscuits. Lovely cocktails in the evening. All staff friendly and customer service very high standard. Property is beautifully decorated and view is memorable. You are able to walk down to sea point or camps bay during the day but taxi are recommended at night. We used Uber and they always came quickly. Wouldn’t stay any where else in Cape Town.

Our first visit to Cape Town made all the more memorable by staying at 52 De Wet. Stunning Atlantic Coastal views, modern open plan communal area to relax in and enjoy a gin cocktail over sunset. The rooms are spacious and Comfortable. We stayed in the penthouse as this was the only room available for our preferred dates and what a treat. Whole top floor to ourselves being able to admire the views from waking up in bed or whilst taking a shower. Also your own lounge to relax and listen to music in. Everyone at the house is so friendly, helpful and welcoming. And is a very well Organised team. You’ll be greeted to smells of freshly baked bread in the morning and a choice of tasty cooked breakfasts. They also offer on some evenings to cook evening meals with wine pairing as
