We decided to stay at this lodge for a few days with some of my Europeans friends. 40 km from Suncity and the entrance to the Pilanesberg. They have a few African chalets with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a kitchen with living room. We spent most of the time by the pool and by the braai. The owner were very nice They helped us with anything we needed. They went the extra mile to offer the best service and we felt very comfortable there.
If you are looking for a relaxing time with friends and enjoy a typical South African night this is very good place to choose. Nice, simple and very enjoyable.

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids, ages 11 & 12) spent the Easter weekend. The grounds were immaculate, and Juna was friendly and helpful on arrival. Unfortunately, the restaurant shown on the website is only open for conferences, which was the first disappointment. Next, the website mentions “walks” as an activity, so one naturally assumes walking trails of some kind—but this is not the case. One can follow the various farm roads by walking, but, again, this is a little misleading. There were some minor maintenance issues with the unit we stayed in: braai grid supports rusted away, so had to collect rocks to support the grid; interior door latch stuck; shower head calcified and spray in different directions, so almost impossible to shower (head is too high to reach to adjust); several cobwebs where they shouldn’t be. The kitchen is equipped, but minimally: no bread board, for example. The ceiling fans worked, and were helpful in cooling, and the pool was clean, although chilly. The main road with some heavy truck traffic is only about 200 meters or so away, so there is some road noise. Our unit was not serviced, so we had to do our own dishes daily, and empty our braai ashes: perhaps this was related to the holiday weekend, but it should have been explained, or overtime paid to staff. Other than the pool, there was one smallish jungle gym in a hidden corner or the property, so not much for the kids to do. We found a puff adder, and notified the management: they tried to kill it by hitting it with a branch, but it wriggled away through the undergrowth. This was unfortunate: as a nature-oriented setting, I would have preferred they captured and relocated it. Not great for the kids to see. Had the maintenance and service issues been absent, I would score it a 3. If the website was accurate, possibly a 4 with actual walking trails and operating restaurant.

Pity because the place looks beautiful, the garden well maintained and the sparking pool very inviting.

Not very impressed after discovering a frog in our chalet on the first night, lizards and spiders on the second night. Managers response “Mam, we are invading these creatures’ territories, what do you expect us to do?” Hello, I did not pay to have creepy crawlies in my room but I paid to have a peaceful night.

House keeping needs a serious shape up, the place was full of spider webs and the room was still dirty even after being serviced. The cupboard were very dusty and dirty inside, there were even spider webs in the wardrobe too. I never thought I would have to fight a spider in the shower before I could take a shower.

What a beautiful place, and the hosts were very welcoming and accomodating. They went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and happy. The accomodation was clean and neat and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I will be going back.
