visited the lodge on the from the 2oth of November 2020 till the 23rd of November 2020, The lodge is very peaceful, my room was clean, staff and security are friendly and helpful. my car broke down and the lodge stuff assisted me with requesting a cab to transport us around, the bar was kept clean and they had almost everything/alcohol we needed. We had a great time even though it rain almost the whole weekend.

Despite calling itself a "safari lodge", it is not in a game park - it's just a hotel on the outskirts of town. My room was clean but dingy and poorly lit. Some of the furniture was battered and had seen better days. I agree with previous reviewer about poor security - my room had sliding glass patio doors with a simple catch and no lock. Work was hampered by hotel's poor wi-fi connection.

The staff are exceptionally friendly & helpful! From Norah at Reception and her assistant, to the waiters at breakfast, to the waitress delivering my room service order and even the security guards and cleaners!
The food was absolutely delicious!
I would definitely visit them again!!!

For an establishment that says it's a conferencing venue, it has extremely poor WiFi and none at all in the rooms, could not even join a Teams meeting. The rooms are old furniture-wise and in need of an update. The TV's are old not HD quality and also there is no Dstv, so your only option is the free to air open view on an SD TV you cant even use your own Netflix account because there IS NO WIFI IN THE ROOMS!!!!! shambolic, the only saving grace is the food is good

Dear Fungai Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel and we are extremely sad to hear about your overall experience. We are aware of the WIFI issue and working very hard with new suppliers to get the WIFI up and running and better than before. We do understand your frustration and have brought this to the attention of top management who are paying urgent attention to the matter. Safari Hotel is undergoing continuous improvements and we do hope that you will give us another chance and visit us again and see the work we are putting in. Kind regards Nadia Management Safari Hotel & Convention Centre

We had booked as family for the weekend into Safari Lodge. Had expected the quality of facility and rooms as advertised on website as a 4 star establishment. On arrival had been allocated the old dilapidated and run down external rooms which would not even warrant a 1 star rating. The Hotel charged us for the renovated rooms. Only after serious complaint and changing our booking to another hotel did they provide a discount on the price charged. Be careful and ensure you confirm you are allocated a renovated room in the part of the hotel which had been renovated. Also not the best of hotel for a family weekend as the hotel is swamped with conference guests.

Poor location on the edge of a mining town. No local recreation facilities.
Rooms had a door lock that could easily be opened with a screwdriver, no safes in rooms which in Africa is a must. And worst of all no safety deposit box in reception.

Rated 4 star on their website but not worth 1 star. Rooms are disgusting, service is shocking and the place is falling apart. Part of the hotel burnt down 2 years ago and they have done nothing to fix it. The hotel needs to be closed and major renovations need to be done. Stay away.

Rustenburg is not your typical weekend getaway, as it is a mostly industrial and mining town. However, due to an enforced weekend attending kids sports tournaments, we stayed at Orion. Nestled in the mountains, fantastic views into the gorge, 5 minutes form the highway (which you can't hear or see), I can picture that weekends around the pool can go by too quickly. Great breakfasts, friendly staff, large rooms, Safari Lodge exceeded expectations

I cannot believe that this is a 4 star establishment. The room I stayed in was so run down and old I could not believe it. Felt very unsafe in my room as the locks have been tampered with. Bathroom very old and disappointing. Towels very old and 'thin'. I thought it was only my room but my friend had the same experience. When I complained I was told they have better rooms I should in future book the suites that was renovated recently. I am a South African and stay in hotels in SA frequently. Definately overpriced and unacceptable. The breakfast and conferencing facilities was very good. Friendly staff.

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your review on Safari, Safari is a multi faceted property with many different room configurations dependant on the room type selected and the block requested. We have standard rooms, suites, adjoining rooms etc. Some of our rooms are in the process of being upgraded and some have already been upgraded. The older rooms will be upgraded but as it is an on going upgrade it is best to request a newer room or newer block at time of reservation. We value your input and take it as constructive criticism and a valuable tool for us to measure our market feedback and customer satisfaction. We hope to have the opportunity to win back your business. Sincerely, Staff and Management

The hotel is firstly extremely over priced for services offered. Rooms need maintenance and improving (one plug point and it didn't work). Amenities were HORRIBLE. Put put course is dirty and old, couldn't actually play at all! Service at the bar restaurant was terrible, our waitress had attitude and a long face. All in all - I was VERY disappointed with the hotel.
