Excalibur Hotel is a Fantasical Fantasy Hotel. The setting was like a step back in Medieval times of Kings, Queens and Knights. The hotel was exquisite, the bedrooms were fantastically decorated, comfortable beds, fit for a King and Queen. Gardens are beautifully maintained, a relaxing setting. The food from start to finish was amazing. The service was beyond the call of duty, an exceptional team of staff members:- all are an absolute asset to Excalibur:- Promise is an amazing young lady, her beautiful smile and welcoming nature which was warmly appreciated and all the waiters are awesome, friendly and helpful. We will never forget the fantastical, incredible experience, Thank you.

Our Stay was really enjoyable. We found the venue Unique, clean and the staff were all very friendly. The food menu had lots to choose from and the Happy Hour option that was mentioned to us was well received - we did not have to go anywhere outside the venue for any needs

Good stay at Excalibur, the main road was a bit noisy. The alarm went off one morning at 4 am and it happened several times after that till 6am. If you stay in the tower room there is two owls just outside the window and if not use to noise it could be quite disturbing.

My wife and I booked into Excalibur to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary and had a very pleasant evening in a wonderful setting with fantastic food. We booked one of the Royal Suites, which was tastefully decorated and looked amazing. Unfortunately the joy of the occasion was spoiled when we got to bed... The bed was broken and tilted into the middle, making for a very uncomfortable sleep. It is evident that the bed has been repaired in the past with a piece of wood propping up the bed underneath, but this caused the bed to rock and one turn resulted in the bed collapsing to its original state. The bed sheets were also not what would be expected of hotel quality and were very rough and pilled (the duvet covers were great quality, but not the sheets).
Reporting the issue to reception in the morning, we were told that we should've reported the issue when we discovered it and would have been moved to another room - all good and well, but not practical when we were ready for bed...
I was disappointed in the way management dealt with the issue - I paid good money to take my wife away for a pleasant night in a magical castle, and the only response was "sorry you had a bad night, we'll get maintenance to look into it".
I would have expected a hotel of this calibre to at least have offered a discount on the accommodation or make good on the issue in some way.
In summary, a great venue but it was spoiled by a poor sleeping experience.

Great staff but considering its 4 stars i expected more. Flooded shower , wifi unstable, often noone at reception , and last but certainly not least .. single ply toilet paper not what you would expect from 4 stars !! Promise and Anushka went above and beyond to fix the problems . We had to beg to exchange items on menu which should not be an issue when we were one if ten guests and we gave dietary requirements. On the upside rooms are great as is food and all stagf

I made my family Christmas Lunch Booking at Excalibur, same as 3 years ago 2019. The private dining chamber the King Arthur dinning suite, now 3 years ago when we arrived the suite was decorated like a Christmas Lunch flowers, serviettes, glasses very classy, because you pay extra for this I was very happy, the food was excellent the services was excellent we left very happy.
2022 however totally different first of all the only Christmas decoration was plastic placemats with some Chridtmas Pics on it, no glasses, no serviette’s nothing table with place mars thats it, I was a bit agitated but its Christmas so I said nothing, then the waiter arrived no wine list nothing had to go back order two bottles of wine he brought two glasses we were 5, again i kept quite the kid is new let it be. But the the food the smoke pork chops was raw and when we pointed it out we were told it is smoked, the manager then returned and told my mom she has cooked the prok chop well done, sorry but is pork not suppose to be well done from starr, the beef was tuff, the chicken like road kill with cheese and a crust on it. The plates are smaller then my side plates at home and you are only allowed one serving
My family went through a lot this year, we paid with the drinks R3000 for a lunch I woukd not serve my dogs never again this was by far the worst lunch I ever had, KFC would have been a better choice.

The Hotel is unique, very Medieval. Extremely clean and looked after. Daniel on reception, was most helpful. The entire staff were very pleasant. my only gripe is the food. It is basic and somewhat oily. Breakfast was the best meal we had.

We wandered around the entire venue, it is very big and looks like it would be great for a wedding. The rooms were like stepping back in time, very comfortable and well stocked, teas, coffee and complimentary breakfast pack, if you wanted it. Again, extremely clean and well maintained.

Wonderful place to stay. Restaurant food is delicious. The staff are pleasant and friendly. This is my number 1 place to stay in Rustenburg. One of the greatest highlights working in Rustenburg was staying over at Excalibur Boutique Hotel and enjoying a nice Eisbein meal for dinner.

We had an excellent 6th Anniversary here! A beautiful place with excellent food and very friendly people!

Rooms are comfortable to stay in.

Only thing that needs some work is the Wifi service.

Also you can possibly add something like electric blankets to make the beds warmer!

Dear awftheron, Thank you for taking the time to review Excalibur Boutique Hotel. We truly appreciate your feedback. I am delighted to hear that we were able to make your 6th Anniversary memorable! Apologies for the Wi-Fi problems during your stay. Our ISP was experiencing technical difficulties on one of their towers, we have since implemented a backup solution to avoid being offline. Unfortunately we are not able to provide eclectic blankets as our insurance company deems them a fire risk for the building. We do however have air-conditioning in all the hotel rooms. (If we were still in the middle ages, we could offer you a slave to warm your bed :-) We look forward to welcoming you back in future. Kind Regards Ruan Opperman
