Manyane Resort has always been a favourite of ours. But it has sadly being going backwards over the last few years. We arrived on Friday afternoon and booked into our chalet. We were told we could not use the main pool as it was green and needed to be fixed. We were directed to the chalets pool, which turned out to be just as green. We called reception repeatedly requesting that maintenance be sent to the pool to put in chemicals. Someone finally responded late Friday evening. Not enough chemicals were added and it still stank a bit. More was added on Saturday evening which resulted in a finally clean pool. Sunday early morning at 12:30 the one toilet pipe burst and flooded the unit. We were given a key to use the bathroom in the adjacent unit (was not big enough) for us. There was no one on site to fix the toilet. The chalet was full of insects, had bad bed bug bites, a scorpian bite and other bites. The Resort shop was empty of any essentials and everything else mind you. The whole resort has an air of neglect. I would not recommend staying there either in the chalets or camping. Very sad.…
Our family went to stay In the Manyane Safari Tents over a weekend at the end of January. We were so pleasantly surprised. I had read some negative reviews so was a bit nervous. The stay was perfect! The Safari Tents were clean, the beds comfortable with a fan and fridge and light in each tent. The ablutions were clean and the pool was cool (which we needed during 34-37degree temps). We had amazing sightings over the weekend. All in all a great family weekend, at a reasonable cost. We will be back
We camped at Manyance over New Year. What a disappointment 1. Camp site not maintained and not ckean 2. Ablution blocks are filthy and need a serious revamp 3.Toilet seats missing or broken and ablution only cleaned once a day 4. Cleaning around the pool areas very bad. Cigarette butts in the same place for three days 5. Very bad maintenance throughout the camp site. Steel grates on every camp site broken rendering them useless, and also a danger.6. Rules are not enforced. Loud music and people screaming and getting louder as they get drunker. People walking around without masks. Definitely not a peaceful weekend in the bush. 7. Camp site not ready when you arrive. We had to go and find our own braai and there are no dirt bins on the sites 8. The caravan shop is very badly stocked and does not cater to the needs of the visitors. All in all a shocking state of affairs. Such a huge decline from our first visit nine years ago. Won't return. …
Manyane Pilanesberg New Year’s Eve 2020: What started off as an amazing evening celebrating with friends quickly turned very sour. We were staying in the safari tents - we requested multiple times that our group be put in tents next to each other but we had people in between us and so we set up outside the most central tents (my tent being one of the outlying ones). At around 10pm my partner went to our tent to fetch something only to see that our tent has been slashed open and our belongings stolen (two kit bags and my handbag). Our neighbours arrived back at their tent shortly after my partner noticed what happened (they had just gone to the ablutions so they didn’t lock their tent) and realize that they had also been hit. After a while we had a couple security guards - who were meant to be patrolling - attend to us. We immediately asked them to get management to the scene but THERE WAS NOT ONE MANAGER AT THE RESORT! About an hour later the security manager arrives from Bakgatla resort and gets us onto the phone with the manager of Manyane Pilanesberg. She’s at her home in Pretoria and tells us how we can’t expect her to be there 24/7. She also tells us that this lays on our shoulders, not hers, despite the fact by now the security guards have found a cut hole in the fence. It took us a lot of asking before she agreed to put us into a chalet for the night. After a bit of research, asking around, and stories from the police that came to take our statement, it came to our attention that there have been multiple cases of similar incidents. I find it completely unacceptable that there is such a lack of security and communication from management of the inherent risks that surround us at the camp. We have been extremely disappointed with Manyane’s managements response to the incident and we are still waiting for communication from management regarding a refund for our stay and replacement of stolen goods.
