Where to start - the accomodation was phenomenal, the beds were SUPER comfy. The Staff (Shout out to Ella, Julius, Joyce and Sinwah) for making our stay so seamless. The staff paid attention to the smallest details. Everyone was always super friendly and always ready with a smile and an offer to help. We enjoyed daily Game Drives (the best were the 5am starts!) nothing beats watching the sun rise over the savannah! We saw the Big 5 thanks to Ella's keen eagle eye, her tenacity and relentless efforts to ensure we had sensational drives each day. We got up close to the rhino and elephant and girraffe and zebra, all of which came to the waterhole right in front of our viewing deck!! Having grown up in South Africa and returning recently to visit family, I have stayed in MANY game reserves, but Black Rhino and more specifically the EPIC Nkala Safari Lodge blow all the others right out of the water. Cannot imagine a better place to experience the bush! Also, the outdoor shower is divine! Sipping a drink around the fire each night was wonderful and there was plenty of space for both shared activites together but enjoying some quiet alone time. Thank you to everyone at Nkala for making this the BEST trip Ever!!!! We will 100% be back!!

booked this from Australia- and from the outset, the entire process was easy and fantastic. had all my questions answered timely, and with in depth responses. the actual lodge itself is sensational! the rooms are modern and the main lodge is such a great space for families. our Guide-Ella- was the best we have ever experienced in all out years of doing Game Drives. we felt she became part of our family for the entire stay! we will be back 2000%. there is not one thing i could have faulted during our 7 day stay. wow! just WOW thank you Nkala Lodge for such a memorable stay

What a fantastic weekend, thank you Ella and Nkala Ldoge Team. It was just the very best ‘home away from home’ in the bush experience. My husband was surprised for his 40th getaway birthday with all his closest friends and we so appreciated all the friendly service, cleanliness and educative game drives. Caroline was the most amazing chef and treat to our weekend too. We cant wait to visit again soon X

We have been back to Nkala Lodge several times because it is simply the best lodge and value for money out there! The staff are professional and accommodating, and the facilities are exceptional, with the smallest details being thought of and catered for. We brought our 1 year old daughter and the lodge was kind enough to supply a beautiful cot, baby products and even a kneeling pad for the bath. For game drives you are kitted with blankets, mugs for drinks, hot water bottles and ponchos. No luxury has been spared, and each enormous room is as stunning and breathtaking as the next. Bathrooms have instant heaters, exquisite products and are beautifully decorated. Even the most critical person will find it hard to fault Nkala lodge. We just loved it and will go back time and again. I cannot recommend this lodge more and do so without any reservations.

We are returning clients to Nkala, and have every intention of going back again next year. What a wonderful stay! We saw lions, serval, brown hyena, elephants drinking while we sat at our waterhole! The works! Our lovely hosts Ella and Golden were just amazing. Ella is so kind and understanding with small children, and they respond so well to her. She knows every tree and rock on the reserve, and her bush eyes are incredible. Golden can make ANYTHING delicious, and we rolled out the door homeward. Thank you to everyone at Nkala, we can’t wait to see you again.

Amazing experience! Five star luxury and attention to detail. Very well equipped and the most child friendly lodge. Game viewing fantastic and beautiful scenery. Highly recommend choosing the option of having the chef prepare meals. Ideal for large families with enough space for everyone to have their own area to relax at.

We had a fantastic time at Nkala lodge. Everything was thought of and considered to make our stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Stunning big bathrooms offering inside and outside showers to feel even closer to nature. The game drives were exceptional and our ranger, Ella, extremely knowledgable about the wildlife. She did a lot of effort to make every ride memorable. Furthermore, the staff at the lodge were always friendly and helpful. We booked Golden, the chef, to cook for us and his food was delicious. I would highly recommend a break away at Nkala - a little oasis tucked away under the trees and amongst the bushes of Pilanesberg.

Nkala gives you access to spectacular natural beauty whilst catering to every comfort. This is a great combination of creation and design. Lodge is fitted with everything you need and a few things you'll realise you want at home too 🙂 . Staff are friendly and ready help. They even washed our car (we didn't ask). This is an easy place to relax, and offers much to enjoy.

Everything was perfect. The accommodation was outstanding: clean, roomy, very comfy beds, private. We booked the chef (Golden) and his assistant (Caroline) as an add-on because we were a large group and they were terrific! The food was amazing and I would definitely recommend them both! Oh, how could I forget the game rangers, Ella and Lara, they were amazing, very entertaining and extremely knowledgable about the land and all the animals. We were very lucky to see 4 of the big 5 in a matter of 2 days (only thing we didn’t see was the leopard). Also saw a hippo walking on the road, elephants playing in a deep pond, baby animals everywhere we looked, lots of white rhino and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We would go back in a heartbeat! Thank you Nkala for making my 50th the most memorable birthday ever!

Nkala lodge was so much more than we expected. True luxury in the bush with a warm and attentive team who catered to our every need. Ella is an exceptional guide. Her experience of the bush and passion for the animals ensured the most incredible sightings including multiple cheetahs sightings and a kill, experiences that we will carry with us forever. And Golden, our chef, was a gastronomic genius! The watering hole on our doorstep made for fabulous close up viewing of cheetah, elephant, baboons, giraffe and many others. Overall, a truly exceptional experience.
