my boyfriend and i were there last week and spent one night there. the front desk staff was friendly welcoming and the process was seamless. and the rooms were clean and comfortable- that is about the only thing that was right it

upon going in to the hotel- they have security guards there with the hand held sensors to check i guess, if you are carrying any weapons etc i would assume. nothing wrong with that, but it is the most useless exercise as they only check for guys. i stood right there and asked him what about me.. and his reply was "nyaa o shapo"- translation, 'no you're okay". i Couldve been carrying a gun in my handbag and they wouldve left me stroll right on through- they ned to look into that.

then we decide to go to their resturant for some drinks and a bite to eat- mid afternoon/late afternoon- they were understaffed, we seated ourselves, the waiters that were there worked around us as if we were invisible, i literally had to yell to one who was rushing past if we could get a waiter at the least a menu. he finally came i tried to order a cocktail and they only had 3 available on the whole list cause they're blender.. their ONE blender was broken. A Peermont Walmont property! god forbid someone thinks to rush to Spar or Hi-Fi corp and go buy a new one for the interim of getting it fixed!. so we order a drink and hold the food for now as we waited to see how long our drinks would take first. 35 MINS passed and i ask the waiter, because this place is not packed to capacity how can 2 drinks be taking this long. he assured me they on the way. another 10 minutes passed and i told my boyfriend that were leaving. right now!. we get up tell that dizzy waiter that he must cancel the order were leaving, he looked at us like he was so confused as to why we were going and proceeded to say.. but the drinks are ready now. we told him not to argue with us as they had wasted our time and not even apologetic about it. we left to Ocean Basket, where we had the post spectacular service.

its such as shame because such a property has to uphold a certain type of standard. and it just did not.

whats also a bigger shame is that I am a Travel Agent from Botswana. and I will never book or recommend my clients here. rather at a nearby guest lodge.

An old style casino resort hotel that has been well refurbished. Unfortunately the plumbing was not upgraded so taps fall of fin your hand, not enough water pressur ein the mornign while everyone els eis showering - no business work area - no seta ta the table, no 2-pin electric sockets and worst of all, no MTN service at all.

Otherwise, really friendly staff, greta service, amazing breakfast and generally not the usual overpriced food and drinks one associates with this type of casino

Great location. The rooms are tidy and fits all the needs. The bathroom could use an upgrade. Reception is very close to the smoking casino and it really smells bad in the reception area. The restaurant and bar really surprised me. Fast and friendly service and great quality food.

As a regular visitor I am truely dissappointed to see how everything just went downhill at Peermont Mmabatho Palms Two lights in my room were not working, of which was infront of the buildin cupboard, nothing to mount toilet rolls to fixtures and no decaff coffee in room. The buffet menu was exactly the same for two lunches and dinners in a row and when I ordered room service because of that I only received half of what was on the room service menu. No onion rings and no sauce for the steak. I am truely dissapointed and would rather go back to staying at the Protea Hotel in future. The clothing tags from a previous occupant is still laying behing the coach, which made me wonder how thoroughly the rooms are cleaned?

We were moved from room to room but each time there was something lacking. Main door not working, sliding door dysfunctional, stale food at the restaurant, poor service from staff. Overall terrible experience. We ended up checking out on the same day we checked in and forfeited the money used to book. There was no way we could have stayed overnight under those circumstances.

I received a warm welcome from the very friendly staff. I have sinus problem and every time when I have to sleep in a hotel I get frustrated anticipating to get a smelly carpet in the room. This was not the case, my room was big, clean and smelling fresh. the bed was comfortable. I really felt like a very important person. I have a good night sleep.

I came to this place 2 days in a row just to make sure that the first day bad experience at the restaurant was not a fluke. The second day was even worse than the first.

After we sat down, we had to call waiters several times to try and get their attention to no luck. The staff is not trained. The manager is mediocre. He promised that he will attend to our table personally as the previous waiter was a trainee. An hour passed by before he came to check on us.

The food. Oooh! The food does not qualify to be served to dogs. Both the buffet and from the menu. The barbecue meat is dry like you are eating a carpet. I really don't know how this place can maintain its ratings.

I honestly advise anyone who comes to this place to avoid the Motswedi Restaurant.

I found that the quality of the hotel staff left a lot to be desired. There were very few staff members that seemed to take pride in their work. Choice of food on the dinner buffet was pathetic and most of the food was ice cold. Breakfast the following morning was also ice cold. When I alerted the staff to the fact that their was no white bread left and no butter, there was no reaction at all. Having stayed at this hotel plenty of times before, and expecting a restful enjoyable weekend, my friends and I were all most disappointed. Lack of leadership was very obvious

Tried to to utilize the wi-fi of the hotel but did not succeed. A lot of Hotels I have been at offer free wi-fi to their client. Thus this was one of only hotels i have been at but could not get access to free wi-fi for internet. When I came to the Palms Hotel I left my internet moderm behind assuming that I will receive free wi-fi connection

This hotel is exactly the same as The Mmabatho Palms...not sure why it calls itself by two names may be with the hope that one set of reviews is better than the other!!! But my advice is avoid both names until the management train their staff in guest relations, common manners and how to cook food and serve people !!!
Lets start with the positives......nice room, even though it wasn't what we booked, lovely comfortable bed and pillows...everything worked and was in good working order. Very nice new foods and beverages manager who totally understood why I was embarrassed to have taken my partner to such a hotel.
I spent a lot of time at this hotel, on business from 1990 to 1996 and it was one of the best hotels I'd stayed in...so I thought it was a safe choice to go to with my partner.
We arrived 1.15, the receptionist didn't bother looking up and eventually I said 'we have a reservation' I got a grunt back...so saying it again she looked up and said 'booking in time is from 2.30' with that she returned to shuffling papers!!! So I politely suggested that she might like to call housekeeping to see if our room was ready as we had had a 5 hour drive. We were told to go and have lunch and come back later.....so we did, the lunch menu was limited and boring but hey ho!!! It was 2.15 when we returned to reception and a different receptionist started to book us in, this was between answering the phone which persistently rang...quite obviously we were a nuisance !!!! They insisted we had been allocated a family room when I had booked a double 5 months ago !!!! We were asked if we were staying for dinner...we were.
We pitched up for dinner to be told they were full and the receptionist hadn't booked us a table...so once again we had to eat in the lounge with a table full of noisy drinkers. We insisted on eating off the al a carte menu. When the waitress took our order..2 fillet steaks... We were told they didn't have any along with a third of the menu...we ended up with in edible T bone steak...at which time I called the manager...enough was enough.
The poor man had only been in post a week and give him his due he tried really hard to make amends even offering to up grade our room to a suite...but unfortunately the damage was done and I felt really embarrassed to have bern ranting about this great hotel only to find that the service and attitude of the staff was appalling...lets hope the new manager can turn it back into a really top grade hotel......until then avoid or be disappointed .
