We were placed in The Oasis after traveling from Namibia as a family of 4. What a beautiful hotel! Our room was decorated with modern furniture, it was equipped with a small kitchenette with microwave and fridge and the beds and linnen was of a high standard. But what impressed us most was the service of the manager, Peet! If we could we would pack him in our suitcase to come manage our restaurant. He went over and beyond of what is expected of him. He answered in all our needs, always with a friendly face! Thank you SO much for your amazing service Peet!

Booked a queen room on Agoda, when we arrived the room was upgraded to a suite, at no cost. Nice surprise. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is tidy and clean. Breakfast is sufficient. The not so nice parts: the aircon on 3rd floor is not working, it's like walking into an oven getting out of the elevator. The aircons in general feel like they are on heating or not on at all. The eating section was hot at times and cheese looked like it was stood outside all night because of the warm air. The suite is big, but no sense having a big lounge area if you only sleep there. That space would be better utilized for the bedroom. The cupboard is very small for 2 people, in the hanging section is the ironing board with the iron fastened to it (anti-theft) and that whole contraption is hanging where one is supposed to hang clothes. Huge waste of space and minimal space left to hang clothes. The TV cabinet is bigger than the cupboard. The shelves inside the cupboard kept falling off because they were cut too narrow and cannot rest on the pins properly. Had to constantly pick up shelves and clothes. The bedroom aircon's swivel function did not work, aircon blowing in our faces the whole time, had to switch it off. The bathroom tile at the door is cracked badly and lifting up every time you step on it, it's dangerous. The shower head is clogged, spraying in all directions, needed some effort just to get a proper shower. No mirror in room close to electrical point to dry hair. Couldn't watch most DSTV channels, it kept saying your subscription is in arrears. Of all the available channels on that boquet we could view only about 7. Could not use the safe, it said "service" .

Thank you Susan for taking time to post an in-depth review after being our guest. I am pleased that your stay was enjoyable and I have addressed the issues raised. I would just like to note that the reason for your upgrade was due to an electrical storm damaging our television circuit which has been subsequently repaired. Hotel designs and room setup in general aim to be appropriate for the main market set of the Hotel and unfortunately are not a one fit suits all. Air-conditioning units are set individually for optimal energy saving and environmental consideration however daily changes in temperatures can be miscalculated by our staff so I apologise if this impacted your stay. I do look forward to be able to welcome you back again in the near future. Regards Willie

Staff are very welcoming. Lobby is classy and gives a premium look. Breakfast was good.

Rooms are a bit dilapidated.
Old, noisy, empty fridge - at least provide milk
Tvs are old and run down. Poor channel choices.

Coffee machines are cheap units - not good coffee.

Stay overall was good. Just not good value for 1500 per night. Should be sub 1000

Dear vic2rmaas We appreciate you taking the time to provide honest feedback following your visit to The Oasis Hotel and we are delighted to hear that overall you had a good stay, enjoyed our breakfast and found our Associates welcoming. Your comments regarding the state of the room has been noted, we will have a look through to see what can be improved on. The fridge is offered to allow guests to at least keep water cold and milk pods are provided at the coffee station. Your feedback regarding the coffee machines and choice of coffee pod has been noted. With so many different multi-media options available these days from Netflix, Showmax and general streaming, it is becoming increasingly difficult to please all guests with the right DSTV channels so we have chosen a basic hospitality package offered by Multichoice. Once again we thank you for your valuable feedback and we do hope to have another opportunity to welcome you back again in the not too distant future. Kind regards

I won't book any other establishment in Upington ever again.
Every person i dealt with was extremely helpful and friendly. Noting I asked for was too much. They assisted me with printing Covid documents without any hesitation.
Yes, they do not serve dinner on the premises but the hotel next door offer dinner and there are quite a few restaurants around as well.
Very safe parking as well.

It was a real pleasure staying at the Oasis. Friendly and helpful staff made my stay very pleasant. The room was spacious and comfortable and the fact that load shedding never had an impact is a big plus. One needS an aircon in Upington’s summer heat and the hotel saw to it that it was always available.

Again stayed at the Oasis in Upington for stop over to Namibia. We do prefer the Oasis to it's sister Hotel across the road, as it is quiet but still have secure parking in the grounds of the sister hotel. Only pitty is that the Zest Restaurant as operated in the hotel across the road, has lost it's appeal of old. We do miss it.

Hi Johan, thank you for staying at The Oasis Hotel and for your positive review. In regards to your comments on Zest: The COVID-19 pandemic has forced restaurant operators all over to adapt and shift gears—to alter their business strategies to meet the demands of the time. They accept that it is difficult to recreate the same cosy atmosphere of the previous 40 seater location in a 120 seater space, but confident that the same level of service and standard of cuisine are maintained. We look forward to your next visit. Regards all at The Oasis Hotel

What a nice surprise to find a very well appointed and organized Hotel in Upington. We have been traveling through Upington a few times now and tried different accommodation options but the disappointment was always present - until we discovered the Oasis Hotel. Location and accessibility is excellent, the staff is super friendly and efficient, the rooms very well appointed and comfortable. The Hotel only served breakfast and they do it so well.
What a comfortable stay we had - many thanks Oasis Hotel.
