The Okiep Country Hotel has lot's of charm and love for details. The decoration is amazing, a great collection. The staff is extremely helpful and very friendly. The sleeping quality is great and the rooms have a good size with air-con, fridge and Coffee Maker. The food was very tasty and the service was friendly.
We have stayed at Okiep Country Hotel before and we loved it, that is why we changed our itinerary to stay there again in December. Very clean and safe environment. They also serve lovely breakfast and dinner!
Pleasantly surprised by this establishment. Decently priced accommodation and although a bid dated furniture everything was neat, well maintained and tastefully presented. We appreciated the crispy clean white towels and other complimentary toiletries. Dinner was the chef’s choice and consisted of curry chicken and roasted lambs rib with a choice of starch and veggies. Really an establishment that is worth considering when traveling the north western part of South Africa.
So We decided to hit the road for a quick last min trip to see the flowers which we were told are still blooming and i simply could not not see them this year seeing as its been said to be the best in the last 7 yrs. We stayed in one of the family houses at Okiep and it was great, the kids loved it. The Hotel is stylish and comfortable the staff very friendly and so helpful. the Food So Delicious! We were taken out for the Day by the Owner Malcolm on what i can only describe as my bucket list trip to the Kamiesberge. if you want to book a flower trip to the Namaqua lands look no further than to book with Okiep country hotel and Malcolm. his passion, professionalism and local knowledge is so refreshing, this is something for the whole family, a truly unique special trip that must be experiences at least once in your life time. thank you Malcolm and Team for an Unforgettable experience. Well be back.…
The Okiep Country Lodge has old world charm, but definitely needs a bit of TLC. The self catering unit we stayed in for 2 nights had old embuia furnishings, but the bed, having a headboard and a decorative board at the bottom end, made it difficult for my tall husband to sleep in. The coffee & tea amenities in the room were tops - having a plunger & ground coffee was lovely. The food on offer (only buffet was available & no a la carte) was value for money & very enjoyable. The only negative aspect, was that there was NO room cleaning services available (apparently due to Covid-19) & our tiny waste basket was almost overflowing by the time we left (after 2 days).
