We were so grateful to find this amazing guesthouse after hours of traveling on the road. We had no reservation but were easily accommodated by the lovely ladies on duty. We were shown to our room and were pleasantly surprised by the size and amenities. Extra touches in the room such as cold juice in the fridge and sherry were much appreciated. Everything we needed for an overnight stay was there.
After several days on the road, we arrived with a mountain of dirty laundry. After enquiring about laundry facilities, our clothes were whisked away and were brought back to our room after a few hours, freshly washed, dried and ironed for a mere R85.
The following morning, we went to the dining area for breakfast, which was included in the price. What a feast awaited us, there was food and choice aplenty. Our eggs were done to preference, I chose poached and my husband, scrambled.
We also had the privilege of meeting Lawn, the manager, who greeted us very warmly and made us feel at home. What an asset to the establishment!
All in all, we had a memorable stay.

Dear Fernanda, You can not believe what a joy it is to get such feedback. It makes everything we do worth our while. Jungnickel's biggest value lies in it's staff, with their motto of that little bit more. It is heart warming to hear that Lerato, Phila and Lawn went the extra mile.We are glad the room, amenities and breakfast were on parr. We do hope to have the privilege to host you again in the future. Kind regards Judi and the Jungnickel Team

Lawn and the other management are very welcoming hosts and very helpful. They make you feel like you are staying at home. There is safe parking behind a walled area with security gate. Central to where I wanted to be and close to the best restaurant in town. The bed was very comfortable. Pillows of different firmness including feather. Lovely old house with high ceilings and beautiful wood floors. The bedroom seemed to have sufficient heating. It takes time to reach balmy warm levels. The bathroom has no heating that I am aware of. It is very large and would be lovely in summer or with heating. But in winter in Kimberley it is too cold. I kept the bedroom door to the bathroom closed to keep the bedroom nice and warm. The entire guesthouse is spotlessly clean. And peacefully quiet. Breakfast is a winner. All round unbeatable anywhere else that I have stayed. Perfect eggs, just the way I like them, from the experienced chef Lawn. Tasty bacon and sausages. Lovely breakfast potatoes. There is something for every taste. I am a light breakfast eater, had it been lunch I would have gorged myself. In the room there is free juice, cookies, coffee, tea etc Also in the bathroom soap and other amenities. That are too often lacking at other guesthouses in South Africa. If I return to Kimberley I will stay here again and recommend this guest house. I was alone but for a couple I think it would be a romantic stay.

We had a rather late last minute booking and Phila went out of her way to accommodate us. We stayed in the last room available, through a Family room we enjoyed the extra space. At first we were nervous because it was right at the breakfast areas but it was dead quite even so they served breakfast from 06h00 onwards. The breakfast was most impressive with a lovely selection, at check in they even enquire if you have special dietary needs. Do try the Tuna breakfast pancakes, you WILL be surprised, I don't like Tuna but these were lovely. We left behind a clothing bag, within 30 minutes from Anne notifying us, she already dropped it at a courier to have it send home for us. When next in Kimberley we will definitely have Jungnickel in mind as our first choice.

Hi, Sorry for only responding now. We were run off our feet the last three months. Your review gave us such a thrill. Thank you for the detail and your kind words and recognising the staff. Our staff is what makes Jungnickel special. We are glad you enjoyed the breakfast and especially the pancakes. Some of our regular guests even send us messages ahead of arrival, requesting them or some of the other favourites such as Phila’s “paptertjies”. Glad we could help with the bag that stayed behind. We are looking forward to another visit. Kind regards

A quick stop over .. checked in at Reception and were then moved to the second property which was ok. Rooms ok but quite noisy from other guests as they are close together. Nice that we had a room fridge and juice provided. Bedding clean and aircon good.
Breakfast was ok - greeted by a nice chap who cooked eggs fresh but the rest was keeping warm on a hot plate and could be better.

We arrived in Kimberley on a blistering, humid and hot day in the summer. Our roadtrip from Johannesburg to Cape Town had just started and Kimberley would be our first stop.

Jungnickel guesthouse is a quaint, comfortable guesthouse with friendly and helpful staff. When we arrived we were hungry and overheating from the drive. It was a blessing that Jungnickel had a pool that we could cool down in. #HotTip if you are going to be staying in Kimberley in the summer, get a place with a working pool and I bet you will thank me later.

Our room had very comfortable beds, and the room also had aircon as well as a ceiling fan to keep us cool during the night. Our room had a little outside section for those who smoke or just need to sit outside as the sun is setting and the air becomes easier to breathe.

The rooms are quite vintage/antique style, so if youre more minimalist or looking for a place with a more modern aesthetic, this isn't the place for you.

Breakfast was nothing special, but it was included, so it kept us filled for the rest of our roadtrip.

I would return here if I ever found myself back in Kimberley.

This beautiful B&B is located in a quiet part of Kimberley. We were warmly greeted by one if the ladies working there before Laun showed us to our room in the second property a little further down the road. The room itself was very spacious with a good size bathroom and an outside sitting area \ stoep. There is a small fridge in the room which came in handy. There is a small pool and braai area (bbq area) but we didnt use it so cant comment on that.

There was plenty of food for breakfast with eggs cooked on order. Laun is a fantastic host and we had a nice chat with him over breakfast. It was a nice touch to play his cd of scottih music when he learned that my husband is Scottish!I

You will need to drive to the restaurant for the evening meal, it is not safe to walk after dark. This is the case anywhere in Kimberley and is not a reflection on this lovely B&B. We will definitely stay here again on our next Kimberley visit.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write us such a lovely review. We are glad that the room and outside areas met with your expectations and that you enjoyed the buffet breakfast that Lawn so loves to prepare and serve. As for Lawn - he has a special touch with people, trying to look after their every need. That is just him to even choose the music to make his guests feel special. We do hope that you will visit us again. Kind regards Judi, Lawn and the Jungnickel Team

Jungnickel Guesthouse is situated in the center of Kimberly having a bit of old kolonial ambiente. Parking is safe and garden well maintained. Staff very friendly, helpful and enthousiast. Rooms and beds are very good and a karaf of orange juice/lemonade is waiting for you in the fridge on arrival. The guesthouse seems to be loved by workers on a installing job on premises and managers. Breakfast buffet is rich with lots of choice. Very good price/value.

Amazing guesthouse, we were staying in the main (historic) building, hence high ceilings, original details and a lot of light in the room. The bed was good, we slept like babies. Clean and fully stocked bathroom, hairdryer in the room. A lot of complementary things in the room: snacks/cookies/juice.
WIFI worked well.
The breakfast was delicious and fulfilling.
Last but not least - friendly and welcoming owner and personnel, we felt like home.

I stayed for 3 days at this beautiful guesthouse with such friendly, easy-going people. The managers Lawn, Erna, Phila, and Lerato received us with such warm and heartfelt hospitality that it really feels like a home away from home. I would love to come back to such a clean and beautiful place and will definitely recommend this place to everyone. May God bless this lovely place and the people of Kimberley.

We had to stay over for a Dr's visit and from the moment we arrived till we left, we were treated like family, rather than guests!
We had 5 star treatment, great food and the staff are so friendly and welcoming.
Even our special food request wasn't a problem. They catered to all our needs. A great place to stay when you want a home away from home.
