Thank you for the stay! The room was comfortable, clean and equipped with everything we needed. The staff was friendly and helpful. Bars and restaurants on the premises were in walking distance and the food complemented with life entertainment was excellent! We have enjoyed a moment of going back in time with all the historical history that has unfolded as we have explored the small mining town during the evening. The visibility of security on the premises contributed to a peaceful night rest. Thank you once again for accommodated us on such a sort notice.

This was our second stay at New Rush and we had a lovely room with two comfortable arm chairs. It is a great experience to be able to stay in the heart of The Big Hole museum area and enjoy exploring the old town museum at our leisure. A kiosk inside the Big Hole building provides an excellent reasonably priced breakfast while the pub/restaurant is a good choice for other meals and/or a drink. The Protea Hotel just through a small gate provides an alternative eating venue. The Big Hole experience tour is definitely worth visiting.

Staying in a comfortable room within the Big Hole Museum is a really special experience. You can safely walk the old streets without any security fears and the food, drinks and service at the Occidental are superb. A special shout out to the Big Hole security team who were most helpful and cordial.

Our room was right next to the security gates and right through the night we heard the corrugated iron gate opening and closing. There was a bench right under our window where the security personel spent the night sitting and talking so loudly we had to get up to tell them to keep quiet. In the morning on shift change, the full security team had their discussions right outside our room.

Had a awesome experience, place is clean and staff was friendly. The place have everything you need, once parked the vehicle stayed station throughout our stay cause everything was walking distance. The mine was informative and the big hole was breathtaking. The restaurant food was divine and we enjoyed some local entertainment. It really took us back in time, we could picture how life was in the late 1800.

As part of a country wide road trip my family and I stayed at New Rush Guest House. Sadly, it did not measure up to our expectations. We were simply provided three sets of keys by security at the entrance to the Big Hole Complex and left to find our own way to the guest house. Once there we soon discovered that one of the rooms in 4 C's did not have running hot water. Phoning the emergency numbers provided on the welcome letter and displayed at the locked office got us through to a lady who claimed the numbers given were wrong and we were provided with a new number which merely went to a voice message which was never returned. Needless to say, a cold shower in the middle of winter in Kimberley was not a pleasant experience. The bed in the Diggers cottage had seen better days and was hollow resulting in a poor night's rest. A written complaint sent subsequently to the email address provided elicited no response.

Staying at the New Rush Guesthouse on the premises if the Big is definitely a must when you are in the area. The revamped hotel offers a unique experience when visiting the Big Hole. Wandering through old Town after hours are really unique.

Very comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful staff. Occidental right on your doorstep making it very convenient to wander across the old mining town as it was in the late 1800’s. Value for money excellent too.

The New Rush Guesthouse took us back in time. Beautiful and clean accommodation with a wonderful atmosphere by the Big Hole. It was warm in December, it would've been nice if the swimming pool was operational.

We stayed in room 6,7 and 14 and it was fantastic. Clean, neat, lots of space and very comfortable beds. Very big showers. Safe covered parking on the premises. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant on the premises. Could walk through the "little town" after hours. Highly recommended.
