We stayed one night at the Country House with our 3 kids and loved it. The guesthouse is full of charm with historical furniture and the gardens (front and back are lovely). The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It is in a nice neighborhood (we took a stroll), a 10 min drive from the Big hole and 500m away from 3 restaurants. We strongly recommend it!

What a wonderful way and a wonderful stay to celebrate our second last leg of our trip to and from the Kgalagadi. The accommodation was superb, we could not stop admiring the attention to detail and the beautiful furniture and fittings and more importantly the way we were received and attended to by an amazing host in Lizzie. Thank you Lizzie and the friendly staff who made this stay most memorable in all aspects. 5 plus Stars. Fred and Jackie Hutchins Pennington Kzn

Gert was extremely helpful during our 7 night stay he was full of local knowledge and helped us get around town to find our feet. The rooms were spacious and beautiful offering classic charm. Rooms made up daily with fresh towels. Beds extremely comfy. We had breakfast each morning and special thanks to Lizzy who made our eggs to order every morning. She was fantastic. Would highly recommend Kimberley Country House!

An oasis in a sea of......well not a lot of beauty frankly! I took my family to Kimberley to see where my grandmother was born. None of us had ever been there before. It was part stopover en-route to the Kruger and part swift recce of granny’s birthplace. I say this because perhaps I’m doing a disservice to Kimberley as we saw so little of it and it would be unfair if the ‘flyby’ trip jaundiced the opinions of others. However back to Kimberley Country House.....it was beautiful, colonial grandeur in a casual and homely way! Lizzie who was the only person we met(Covid was rampant at the time in RSA)was the most perfect young lady who attended to everything and quietly and efficiently orientated us to the grounds the services and made us feel most welcome. I would have been really happy to have spent more time in the hotel but as I said we were enroute to the north west. I highly recommend this hotel for its facilities, breakfast(!).....we only had breakfast and the warmth of the management team.

PS. BTW check out the Big Hole!

This place was even better than expected. Gert, the owner, went above and beyond and picked us up from the airport and helped us navigate around town. The room was quiet, large, and comfortable with nice tea making facilities and a mini fridge.. The central courtyard garden is gorgeous and the pool lovely for a dip. We didn't try the breakfast as we left very early in the morning. .

This guesthouse is the diamond of Kimberley. Lizzy went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The room was beautiful and spacious and we really enjoyed a quiet and relaxing stay! The breakfast was the best I’ve had all year, so fresh and tasty! You won’t find a better place to stay.

· I've stayed at many 5 star hotels that don't come close to this. Totally modern fancy rooms in a quiet colonial setting with every amenity and facility of a high standard. The staff from the management down to every last worker are friendly, helpful, eager to go the extra mile for you. Woke in the morning and found my car (in the enclosed protected free parking area) had been cleaned! The bathroom we had was world class with heavy fluffy clean towels every day. Spotlessly clean and polished. Great location (beware, Kimberley has many very seedy to-be-avoided areas. This is not one of them. This is the old elite area of town with wide shady streets and a tranquil sense of safety) We spent 3 nights in September.

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. Clean, neat and comfortable. Room 7 is spacious with a large bathroom. Air conditioning, although theoretically working, was set to maximum heat and maximum fan and it made absolutely no difference to the room temperature. Fortunately, the bed had a very comfortable and warm duvet and allowed me to sleep comfortably. Breakfast was adequate but pretty bland. No cappuccino or espresso. Would stay here again though.

Glad I picked this spot for a break on our road trip. Nice beds, clean room and lovely decor . Bathroom super large and fancy.
Breakfast first class and the receptionist sorry I didn’t get his name was very friendly.
When I come through again I will stay here .
One small thing is the room we had did not have a WiFi strong enough to connect but just outside the door it was fine.

We spent three nights at the Kimberly Country House and very much appreciated the helpful host who made sure that we were able to find the best spots in Kimberley to visit and that we had a good nights sleep every night. Much of the property is in the original condition that the de Beers left it years ago. The rear of the property was rebuilt to include a swimming pool and additional rooms. Every breakfast was wonderful with eggs made to order and a full range of fruits, meats, and starches to accompany our meal. As we had rented a car for the visit, we were provided with a secure parking spot and keys to open and close the rolling gate. We very much enjoyed our stay and our time in Kimberley.

They do have WiFi but there is no signal outside the dining room/office area. They would be well advised to install an open-mesh WiFi distribution system that is easy enough to configure and very efficient and reliable. They didn't mind me clearing a table in the dining area to do my work, but a good signal should be available in every room as a matter of course. I invite them to contact me via email for more information about it (and no, I don't sell the stuff but I do use it at various locations).
