The chalets are spacious, clean, well equipped (dishwasher, microwave, top of the range stove and oven, television, satellite tv, uncapped wi-fi, 2 fireplaces; one indoors and one outside on the patio) well maintained and well designed. The chalet sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms (2 king size beds and 2 single beds in the room on the top floor). Each room is on a different level which offers privacy. The two rooms with the king sized beds each have bathrooms en-suite. The chalets are built on multi levels; the lounge and patio overlooking the lake are on the bottom level, the open plan kitchen and dining area on the mid level, then each bedroom on its own level. The design offers a sense of spaciousness without feeling that you are living on top of one another. It's not wheelchair friendly. The units are serviced daily and the staff are happy to build you a fire on cooler nights. The resort itself has a lot to offer in the form of water sports, skiing, canoeing, fishing, leisurely paddles around the lake on pedalos. The lake isn't fenced off so young children would need to be supervised, The swimming pool is fenced off and there is a 'baby pool' for the little ones. If you're looking for other activities there's volley ball, tennis court, adventure golf, there's a games room, gym and beauty spa. There's also a laundromat in the complex where you can do your own washing. The location also has wonderful bird watching trails so remember to pack binoculars! I like a morning run and while I haven't explored the running trails beyond the main gate, the resort itself is sufficient for me. Despite all the activities, it remains a serene, calm and peaceful place. The staff are very friendly, extremely obliging and go out of their way to assist you. When my companion lost the phone charger the reception managed to organise one which was delivered to our chalet within 10 minutes. The chalets are self catering and there isn't a restaurant on site but there are menus in the chalets from restaurants in white river who will deliver. There is a small shop in the complex where one can buy, fire wood and charcoal, sweets and a few very basic requirements. The resort is about an hours drive from Hazyview and the roads are glorious, the scenery breathtaking. It's just over an hour from Kruger and the other sites worth visiting in and around Mpumalanga. There's nothing I could fault at Pine Lake Resort. The service was excellent, the location magnificent, the accommodation, divine. If you are looking for a place for a family, friends or a partner to get away and connect, Pine Lake Resort could be the place for you. Thank you to the wonderful staff. I would definitely come back.…
