Wow, what an awesome place. My wife is very picky about hotels, and the Nut Grove manor did not let me down. The rooms were excellent rooms with air conditioning, a living room area, and a luxury bath (huge shower and tub). I was concerned about the food (my adult daughter is a very picky eater), but the food was incredible. We had ostrich filet, lamb shank, and beef tenderloin, along with pasta, and excellent desserts. We did take advantage of the spa services and I highly recommend booking spa appointments-great relaxing spa in a tree house. My thanks to everyone at Nut Grove Manor, the service was exceptional. You will not regret staying here!!!

What a little gem of a place in the most tranquil grounds to wander around. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean. The best bit is that they spread throughout the grounds, making it your own little piece of paradise. Lovely friendly staff and such a delicious dinner. Very close to lots of tourist destinations, like the Potholes, Gods Window, many waterfalls and the list goes on. Thanks again to our tour operator Destinations by Shane.

We arrived early evening on Friday and received a lovely welcome after a long journey. We were soon shown to our room which was spacious and well appointed, so far so good. For dinner we were asked to choose from the set menu, which I assumed was due to the time we had arrived. The set menu was quite basic and uninspiring but hey ho carried on. Chose the mozzarella balls which were reasonable nothing to write home about (remember this is a 5 star place). Next came the chicken schnitzel, perhaps I'm being picky but at a 5 star hotel I think I have the right, a schnitzel is fried in butter not oil that is why they taste so nice, oil doesn't work so it was bland and boring. Next I had what was advertised as a baked cheese cake. I've had a few baked cheese cakes in my time so when I get crushed biscuit with some coulis and whipped cream in glass I'm not impressed. Is not a baked cheese cake simple as that. We then had to remind the waiter which wine we had chosen twice so he could bill us there and then as although we were staying three nights we couldn't open a tab so I went back to our room to get some cash as we also had to pay for water (5 star establishment). My partner ordered the rum pineapple, this was very difficult to eat with the spoon provided and I had cut it into bits for her with a knife and fork. Overall very disappointed. The team did make us a packed breakfast for the next morning as we were up very early to go on safari, which was fine. Next evening our waiter knocked on our door and asked us to pre order from the same lousy set menu as the night before. As you might imagine I was less than impressed and explained that under no circumstances would we be eating from that menu again. He conceded and we ordered from the ala carte. Slightly better, I had the chicken wings which were ok, my partner had the butternut squash soup (was this the same soup from the night before) we suspect so as it was highly viscous and could have attached wall paper. We then however got the chocolate tort which took ages to come, the waiter was run off his feet serving a whopping ten people. When it arrived it was horrific, as it was a mouse made from 'cooking' chocolate. Breakfast the next day limited buffet layout no butter, margarine!! hate the stuff. We were then told we could choose from an omelette or french toast as the kitchen was closing in half an hour (appalling). It takes 3 minutes to boil an egg but not even an option (remember this is a 5 star establishment). Dinner that night, chicken wings again (played it safe) partner butternut soup with a twist pieces of bread in it. I then had the oxtail which to be fair was nice, not lovely or great but nice. Partner orders the beetroot and chickpea fritter with dhal. Again forgive me if I'm wrong but doesn't a fritter mean fried in batter, not at the Nutgrove it doesn't as it came as raw beetroot arranged in circle no chickpeas or dhal just some standard dressing. The waiter also tried to serve us with warm bottle of white wine with no ice bucket. The place its self is nice but the food is woeful and the staff need a huge amount of training. They were polite but lacked the fundamental knowledge to make it at a 3 star place. I'm sure the chef is a lovely person but they would get laughed out of come dine with me never mind a 5 star restaurant. This place is nowhere near 5 stars, dine there at your peril. I could have elaborated more but suffering from malnutrition.

We had a nice suite, with a separate room for 2 teenage children, and small kitchen. The grounds are beautiful. We were well looked after. The restaurant is very good. Steak was great. They have an extensive wine collection (we don't drink, but it looked impressive). We only stayed for a night, as the next day had an early flight from Kruger Mpumalanga airport (less then 10 minutes away), but would like to stay longer soon. The children enjoyed the wifi after two weeks in the Kruger Park!

Very convenient location close to Nelspruit, White River and Kruger National Park. Their outdoor setting is amazing: plenty of space for kids to play and hide around, manicured gardens, nice playground, nice pool, and nice cottages with all you need for a short or medium-term staying. The staff is very nice and kind.

Wow! What an amazing place. From the time we arrived our host Vanessa made us feel welcome and comfortable. Check-in was a breeze - even with the new-covid-normal procedures. The rooms are lovely - spacious, clean, neat and very very comfortable. Our room had a massive outdoor shower. Breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. The landscaped gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The pool is large and in December was warm. The kids spent hours in it. I would highly recommend this place. It is central to the local attractions and well worth a visit in its own right.
