We went to Graceland Hotel as a family and we experienced the best service from the staff. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The hotel even does a turndown service, which makes the hotel experience even more memorable.

I would highly recommend Graceland Hotel in Secunda to anyone looking for a good stay.

Over the past year, my husband and I have spent about 4 months in Secunda, and we have stayed in three different hotels. In my opinion, Graceland is the best that Secunda has to offer.

Pros:
1) Fastest internet
2) Best fitness center
3) A great breakfast buffet
4) They change the bedding every day (even when I told them my sheets were clean) and the towels twice a day. I consider this a pro for the cleanliness, but I also find it a little wasteful.
5) The suites are in great condition. We lucked out and stayed in one for a week and the room was perfect.
6) The casino is cheap! You can play blackjack for less than $2 a hand. This makes it very easy to sit and play for hours at a time.

Cons:
1) Unless you talk to a manager at the front desk, nothing gets done
2) It is a little run down. Definitely not 4-star like they say. If I walk around my standard room without shoes, my feet/socks turn black.
3) The restaurants don't give a lot of variety. They are either bad or highly over priced. To get good food, you need to leave Graceland.
4) This is something small, but when housekeeping comes they take the shampoo and body wash out of the shower and put it on the sink. I don't use shampoo and body wash at a sink, I use it in the shower. It's very annoying to have to jump out of the shower to grab it from the sink.

The photos look by impressive and on arrival the outside of the hotel and complex do look impressive. On closer look you realize the building is somewhat on the tired side. Hotel staff was very friendly on check in. The room is closer to 3 star than a 4 star. Our room on the 4 th floor looked to the side of Sasol. Not a good idea as the noise from the refinery kept on waking you up during the night. Our room also had some alarm noise going off intermittently during the whole night. It was so annoying and intrusive that we had not slept a wink through the night. We had phoned several times to report the noise but it never got sorted. The Cafe restaurant is the better one to frequent, stay away from the USA themed restaurant, the food is awful. Breakfast at the Cafe was great. Our feeling was we would never consider to stay at this hotel again. If you enjoy gambling I would suggest you can consider staying here.

Was here in May 2022 and now again in January 2023. Saddened by the way the service, quality and restaurant option declined. Dinner option only at one restaurant with limited dishes on the menu and to be honest, not tasty. Should really look into better dinner options for gueasts. Rooms was clean, but linnen was old, fridge in room was broken and carpets was not clean. Maintenance seems to be slacking overall.

140km for a look.
Arrival: Reception informed us that our booking was incorrect but will do a GREAT favor to rectify.
Room: NOT 4*. Can't rate. Neat, not clean + Balcony filthy. Loose/broken fittings. Few TV channels. Good view of factories.
Facilities visited:
House restaurant - Empty other than teller that had no idea what they can serve. Breakfast: Go to Mcdonalds.
Casino - Small as expected, 1/2 not operational though. Available machines mostly occupied by a card inserted to reserve seats for sitters. Do not waste your time.
Golf: Nice looking course. Do NOT go into the rough Lol,
Don't expect much.

Graceland Casino Resort in Secunda is just NOT the place to be. Apart from the very poor quality in service the casino has a very bad history with robbers. The March 2010 robbery was one of 4 in just a short time. And it’s not only the four that took place in the history of the casino. It is really unfortunate that a patron was shot dead at the March 2010 robbery. Just shows you how poorly the security of the resort is. Apart from the robberies, the casino has a very bad payout ratio. I’ve gambled at many casinos around the country and internationally, big and even smaller than Graceland. Never have I encountered a bad payout ratio than Graceland. The hotel service is what you can expect from a hotel associated with a casino with such a bad security record…guess their not so Graceful after all. Elvis will turn in his coffin if he knew the casino was named after his home!!!! I advise visitors not to visit Graceland without a body guard or 2. Even that might not help.

Do not go to Graceland until they can prove to go through a year without a robbery!!!!
That will be a first ever for them!!!!

This resort used to be fantastic, the hotel, casino and all facilities were managed by the most incredible GM I have come across in all my travels.

He was so good and the resort well liked that the onlyproblem was you could never get a room at the hotel, Eventually weekened after weekend of trying I gave up looking for a room.

3yrs on and I decided to try my luck, and managed to secure two rooms and was very glad. However I should have known something was up when I got two rooms last minute. The hotel going from one of the better properties in SA is now without question the worst I have stayed in.

From broken carpets, elevators that were terrible, (in fact one of the two was down for half my stay) to food thats is no longer acceptable, and a casino that simply doesnt value its players.

Its very sad, a place so well run, could crash to such low levels in such a short space of time. All the managers who are in fact 'idiots with titles' walk around with their expert management guides trying to learn new skills, problem is head office has forgotten that great managers are not bought or taught, they are developed over many years. The service or lack thereof from 'Blessed' was far from his namesake, and the new GM didnt even make an appearance during a busy long weekend.

The biggest problem is that there is no management, and the staff are lost.

A gem no longer. Great pity.

There isn't much choice in Secunda, which is a pity as this hotel would be near the bottom of the list. Stayed here toward the end of last year for work and the service and food then was appalling. Back again now and not much has changed.

I haven't even risked ordering the breakfast and lunch packs, as when I did half the time they were not ready for collection when I needed them. When they were they contained mouldy sandwiches and not much else (the not much required cutlery which was not provided).
I also had laundry forgotten to be done and Internet vouchers not work. (Yes, you must pay for more than 15mb of data!)

Tonight in the restaurant (Madison) my steak was ice cold in the middle, the sauce had a skin over the top and the 'creme brûlée trio' I just ordered from room service resembled and tasted more like 3 scoops of butter. No burnt sugar in sight. Still confused what was brought to me?

When I complained last year it was addressed with a lousy hamper of a cheap bottle of wine and terrible biltong. It seems no one actually cares anything for quality or service here. Luckily they have Sasol keeping the doors open otherwise this place would have closed down a long while ago.

Quite poorly maintained, rooms old, need refurbishing. Bathroom with many broken feaures: taps, water drainage, quality of the equipment, broken door stoppers. Internet connection - paid version - you need to log in every 5-10 min with 10-digit password. Meals ok, although they dont tell you selećtion of the drinks - you have to guess what they have and they will tell you... I think this hotel is missing a manager.
