What a great stay we had at the lodge which was in a quiet part of the town, yet close to all the local restaurants and supermarket.
Our log cabin was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and serviced daily. The gardens were lush, well maintained and owners Richard and Shelley went out of their way to ensure we had a super stay.
It felt like a home away from home, really relaxed and we loved that we could braai, which was cleaned every day and returned for our braai every night. Highly recommended and well deserved praise.

We had 4 great nights staying at Sunset Lodge. The cabins are very well equipped and the lodge is located close to the main street of St Lucia for shops and restaurants. The pool area enjoys wonderful views over the river. We were lucky to see a family of 3 hippo grazing beside the pool on one evening and, even luckier, to have a daytime visit from "Harry" the hippo grazing in the middle of the day allowing us an amazing (but safe) close up view. (See picture) Sunset Lodge staff were all great and we were very impressed by how quickly and helpfully they dealt with a small problem with our air con. They really are on top of things and very friendly too! A great place to stay in St Lucia!

Located in the quaint coastal town of St Lucia close to big five game reserves and smaller reserves on their door step, our host Shelley could not have been more accommodating of our needs. She is knowledgeable of the town and the area and was able to advise and book us on daily excursions. The lodge is clean, comfortable and in these days of load shedding has good solar backup, which was very welcome allowing us to run air conditioning during hot humid nights. With only 8 cottages on the property and located in a quiet part of town over looking the St Lucia estuary, it is a great and peaceful place to base yourself or just relax.

Had a lovely week at St Lucia. Nice accommodation with excellent hosts. Well run lodge which focuses on offering a quiet base from which to explore this fabulous area. Accommodation offers all you need although the entire St Lucia area has poor internet so beware if important to you. The chalets are comfortable and nicely equipped and the view from the pool area is delightful. The lodge itself is at the end of a quiet road so for that chill break absolutely ideal with an easy walk in to town.
I will be going back :)

We stayed at Sunset Lodge for 4 nights while on holiday in St Lucia. The accommodation was very comfortable, self catering log cabins. We stayed in a 4 sleeper cabin, with 2 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom. They have a pool with a deck, perfect for lazing around and watching the sunset over the estuary. You can also braai in the boma braai area or they provide you with you own portable braai. The pool is sparkling clean and the cabins are cleaned daily. It really is such a stunning place.

What an amazing experience! It is my second time staying here & I can't get enough! We really needed a breakaway and this exceeded our expectations! It was so lovely to switch off our phones, be present and truly relax. We always had water & electricity without the noise of a generator. Shelley has created a have & her attention to detail is incredible! Thank you for beds made, clean towels every day and thank you gardeners for keeping them tidy.

Within less than 5 minutes walking from all "downtown" eateries, Sunset Lodge is situated perfectly. The chalets were spacious, clean and well equipped, the property looked after and mostly secure. The views are nice and the place is quiet. Would come back anytime (when not traveling with our dogs, as they don't accept them).

A decent accommodation with unfortunately paper-thin walls and almost non-existent curtains. Whilst you’ll be bathed in light for your entire stay don’t expect much sleep.
The noise from the staff calling is very loud till late in the evening and starts up again at 06:00 in the morning. I love Zac, the dog, but he runs across the park at 6am barking loudly for all the chalets to ‘enjoy’. Only the heaviest of sleepers will be able to benefit from what this place has to offer. The place is also very small and we’ve been visited by a record number of cockroaches. Don’t come here for peace, quiet or privacy. The view is excellent, though.

Loved our stay, Cabin had plenty of room and everything you need for your stay. Braii brought to your deck at night when requested and removed and cleaned in the morning. The view over the Estuary was breathtaking, the owners are lovely and welcoming. We had daily visits from the owners cats and Zac the dog was a huge favorite of our daughters, overall a great holiday destination, highly recommend, 100% now our go to holiday spot in St Lucia

We arrived here to visit Islimangaliso after a long day in the car and immediately felt like we were in heaven. Santa Lucia is really pretty and Sunset is beautiful. The lodges are very welcoming and the little dog is delightful, keeping watch over the monkeys when dining out. The only note is that the rooms and in particular the wardrobes smell a lot of mold and for me, as I am allergic to dust, it was a bit of a problem. I suggest a little renovation. Still highly recommended!
