We stayed here very last minute for 2 nights a couple of weekends ago. The chalet we had was close to the pool. Chalet a little dated but very clean and everything we needed. The pool was fabulous! It didn’t stop raining ( torrential!) the whole time we were there and there were torrents of water everywhere so we very much enjoyed the pool in lieu of the more usual safaris!
Manager was great and gave loads of uno including telling us if we wanted to leave St Lucia to go asap as part of the road had been washed away!!

We’d love to come back and enjoy everything the area has to offer and we’d probably stay here again.
Thanks!

Definitely not the ideal setting for a family. The small cottages (not chalets) are cosy, yet one tends to feel clostefobic. Don't be fooled by the Dstv advertisement - only limited channels are available with poor reception. There is no built-in braai, you will be provided with a small portable version. Be prepared to share a night outdoors with the neighbors as the stoep provides no privacy. There are some amenities that will impress: at night Hippo's roam the complex about for a bite to eat. You will have spectacular views from your cottage window between 1am-5am. Beautiful sounds of wild and bird life can be heard at night in a setting surrounded by tropical trees. The swimming pool is huge and ample space is available to sun bath and swim on a hot day. The man made experience inside may be average but the nature outside is truly one you won't forget.

We were very impressed with the accommodation. Extremely neat and well appointed. The gardens were neat and the swimming pool great in the hot humid weather. Ideal for a couple with two kids or a solo trip. I will definitely be back!

Old, dirty and unwelcoming. The tiles on the floor were all cracked. The dishcloths were dirty as was the sink plate dryer. The remote for the TV didn't work. The benches outside on the veranda were in need of repair. The bedding was about 20 years old. Revolting!

Beautiful bathroom and kitchen. Well appointed kitchen to meet all your needs. Extremely clean and serviced daily by cleaning staff.
Well maintained garden and swimming pool. Excellent location. Suitable for a family, children and the elderly.
The owners are very responsive.
I highly recommend Chalet 12 and would definitely stay there again.
Thank you to the owners for sharing your holiday home with me,💕

Spent three nights here. On arrival one room hadn't actually been booked! Room was not serviced for the two days we spent here and Odette at reception was extremely rude and unhelpful and racist to boot - referred to her co-worker as a 'monkey'

This is our third stay at Manzini Chalets and we keep coming back because we love the area and have family nearby. Sadly, this is our second quite poor experience (although in a different unit / property).

Unit 37 is in a great location with a huge amount of potential, but unfortunately, the maintenance appears to have been abandoned. It's got a great raised deck out back which gives you a good place to BBQ and it's wonderful to watch the passing bush buck, mongeese and occasional hippo. The unit is well supplied with more than enough plates, glasses, etc. and it's at the end of the row which means it's quieter than some other units, even in busy periods.

Unfortunately that's where the good bits end. The great deck was in complete darkness due to a blown bulb, but that was fixed after we raised it.

The deck looks in on the master bedroom, and the blinds in the master bedroom are faulty. The blind unit isn't fixed to the wall in any way, so attempts to open or close them result in the whole thing falling on you. So we eventually closed them, propped them in place and left them like that for the week.

The hot water pressure in the upstairs bathroom is almost non-existent, and the problem appears local to that bathroom. Pressure in both the kitchen and downstairs bathroom was fine. We reported it and nothing happened for a few days. Apparently the maintenance staff thought someone was sleeping in the room, so they just ignored it. After a few more chase ups, we were quite rudely told that the office manager (Odette I believe) had personally checked the property and everything was working perfectly; we should just let the water run for 3 - 5 minutes before using it. The attached picture shows the flow rate after 4.5 minutes, and it's certainly not acceptable in my book.

While on the topic of the bathroom, the toilet seat really needs updating. It isn't properly fixed to the toilet, and the condition is just awful as shown in the attached picture.

Moving out of the bathroom (and I'm sure by now we all want to!) the downstairs bedroom door did not latch closed. So unless you are REALLY friendly with everyone you're staying with, pack your own doorstop!

The couches are just abysmal. Thank heavens this is an outdoor paradise and you want to spend most of your time outside, because even on a rainy day, I'd rather sit on the wooden bench outside than indoors on the main couch. Even if we ignore the tears in the main couch (and I'm not sure why I should), it's just the most uncomfortable couch I've ever sat or lay on.

If it was just the condition of the property, I'd be inclined to accept it and wouldn't even bother with a review. What annoyed me was first the lack of response when reporting issues, and then the rude nature of the response when I followed up.

If the property is a work in progress or there are things to fix, take it out of the rental rotation until those things are fixed, or at least make tenants aware of the issues and offer either a rate reduction, or the opportunity to choose another unit.
