Our "OPPI-Lodge" dark and very puretanic and they are stingy in detail. Possibly we had the worst room of all. It seems that these rooms were completed at some time and then maintained with the least possible effort. The door doesn't lock, you have to ask for the hairdryer as much as anything else, suspiciously there is The New Testament at hand, but neither wine glasses, coffee, tea (but three kinds of sugar), nor water in the fridge, nor a single chair or armchair in the room. If the defective wooden stool in front of the desk was not used forty years ago as a whipping post for blacks to be punished...! And you bump your knees at the desk because either the chair is too low or the extremely uncomfortable chair brought in from the porch is too high. Before going to bed, you better disconnect the loudly humming refrigerator. All in all, not a pleasant stay, especially for two. But at least correct American breakfast with Eggs & Bacon, toast, yogurt, fruits and O-juice and very eager, friendly hotel staff.

We stayed two nights at this guest house. Unfortunately the country seems to have frequent power cuts but the staff were very friendly. Our original room was not available and we were given another which was next to the water tank which is a bit noisy. The owner told me to use the other room and not to worry about using both bedrooms which was very good of him. It’s close to the main areas and restaurants.

If there is one reason i would like to go back,it would be super friendly, helpful, kind and courteous hostess,Valerie. We were late, she called us up to find out if we are coming, after check in we found some issues in the 4 bedroom chalet, Tv was not working, and she immediately have me access to another unoccupied double room just to watch TV(world cup match was underway), later she moved us to another chalet quickly which suited us fine. She even gave my daughter few books to read for the night. Coming back to accommodation, one thing I did not like is that the original 4 bedroom chalet that was allotted to us had issues like TV not working, main door dosent close etc. was not quality checked before next check in, but the other chalet we moved into later was perfect. Parking right in front of the chalet, comfy beds, sofa, good kitchenette, towels etc.TV was a bit old styled, but not too concerned about it.

First visit to St Lucia and we were utterly amazed with the complexity and diversity of the area ! Had a great stay at Oppi Rotse, clean and neat, nice breakfast and very well situated in a quiet area, yet close to everything. Great value for your money. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly owners were a bonus. We will certainly be back to explore more of the area, and will stay at Oppi Rotse for many reasons. A few more DSTV channels would have been nice...

Lovely rooms, friendly staff, and very well located - this place was great to stay in! It's self-catering, which is lovely as the unit we booked had a fully equipped kitchen and it's five minutes drive to the supermarket. The pool and jacuzzi facilities make for a relaxing end to a animal watching filled day!

A group of 12 of us stayed here for a few nights after 4 weeks of teaching in South Africa. Oppi Roste was exactly what we needed to relax for the weekend, with the hot tub, garden area, swimming pool and other facilities. Great location for exploring St Lucia. Would definitely recommend!

This was an average stay at an establishment whose name gave us the impression that it has sea views, ( oppi rotse) where in fact nothing in st Lucia has sea views. For a first time visitor to the area this was a dissapointment. Although the accomodation was adequate, and serviced daily, I found it lacking that the owner did not once come to see if we are satisfied! ( just a little personal touch would have made such a difference!) Where we stayed there was no wifi, it was too far back to reach and that was quite irritating! TV package should also not be shown on ad as DSTV! If not full package say limited package. With nothing really to do in the evenings, and such limited TV to watch we might have made a different choice!
