We spent 5 amazing nights at the Kwalucia. Our friends recommended that we stay here, due to their previous visit. Adrian and Marie were wonderful hosts. I had emailed and told them all the activities that we wanted to do. On the drive to St. Lucia, I had an email telling me that my Turtle Tour would start at 5. On arrival, they had most of my activities already scheduled based on the weather. Marie's breakfasts were amazing. She loves to bake and it shows. Adrian would always tell us the weather for the day and give us tips on where to go and what to do with our free time. Marie packed us a great breakfast for one of our early morning excursions. The rooms have beach towels for us to use for our excursions, and Adrian would grab a cooler for us, when needed. Our room always had fresh milk in the little frig for us to drink along with sodas. The Kwalucia has 3 suites on the property. The plants and trees are amazing. I was soo surprised by how big the property was. Pictures do not do it justice. I can't wait to go back again.

I spent 5 memorable, activity-packed days in St. Lucia, a place of incredible beauty, made extra special thanks to the warm hospitality and amazing food provided by Adrian and Marie, the hosts of the Kwalucia Private Safari Retreat. They made me feel pampered and at home for the entire stay. They came highly recommended by a friend - whose family of four are repeat customers. The room was lavishly decorated and comfortable and had everything I needed plus some spoiling extras. The activities arranged by the lodge were great - horse riding, river cruise, night drive and everything needed for a perfect day at the beach. Marie is a gifted and inspired chef. Her breakfasts were fabulous as was the lunch she packed for my return drive. Adrian advised on all things from weather to best things to do and gave a private viewing of the hippos who visit the town. All in all a great stay, highly recommended. I felt like family.

Our stay at Kwalucia was too short but what an experience. If you like tropical forests, typical African decoration and meeting great locals, this is the place. Adrian and Marie can tell you every activity you should do and are very pride to show you what Santa Lucia has to offer. As we were at the restaurant, they showed up to warn us about the hippos in Town. Waouw. And they gave us a lot of attentions for our honeymoon. Thanks again and see you next Time.

We were fortunate to find Kwalucia available at short notice after another lodge in the area dropped us at the last minute. From the moment we made the booking, until we left, Adrian and Marie, the owners, could not have been more helpful, accommodating, super-friendly or professional. Kwalucia is an upmarket lodge just off the main strip of the pretty little town of St Lucia. The accommodation is exactly on a par with what you would expect in an upmarket establishment – the bed was large and comfortable, the water was hot and the bath was a great for a soak. There is also a mini fridge in the room as well as plush bath gowns and slippers. The room was super-clean, beautifully and tastefully decorated, and adequately spacious. The entire lodge is immaculately maintained – take some time to walk through the lush, tropical garden to discover all the quaint and arty decorations in the garden. On arrival, Adrian took us through all the various tourist options in the area and even made the bookings for us. Weather forecasts, as well as when is the best time to do the various activities, were given to us at breakfast each morning. However, it is the food which lifts Kwalucia way above the norm and which will fit in well with any upmarket restaurant. Arriving in St Lucia at the back end of the third wave of Covid, we were a little anxious about eating out at a restaurant in the town, so I asked Marie if there was a takeaway restaurant in St Lucia where we could collect some takeout food to eat at the lodge. Marie immediately shot back to offer us the opportunity have dinner at the Lodge, cooked by her. The price for a 3-course meal was extremely reasonable, so we took her up on the offer, and I have to say we were not disappointed. The first course was a spicy butternut soup and that was followed by a perfectly cooked crayfish pasta, which was chock-full of freshly caught crayfish. We finished off with a delicious fruit crumble, which topped off the meal perfectly. After that enormous success, we asked Marie whether she could cook for us the second night we were there, as we didn’t think that any of the restaurants would be able to match her cooking. On the second night the first course was a thick and tasty roasted tomato soup, layered with flavour, the main course was chicken pies that were so large and so generously stuffed with delicious chicken that we couldn’t finish them and the dessert was a tapioca pudding. All food was prepared and presented with care and attention to detail. The two breakfasts were equally delicious, sumptuous and beautifully presented, which really set us up for the day. The highlight was a “breakfast pizza” which looked just like a pizza except that it was made with an omelette base! A special mention must also be made of Marie’s scrumptious rusks!
