Excellent place managed by Adrian and Marie who were soooo helpful. On arrival Adrian, who has lived in St Lucia most of his life, told us all about the town and what was available including tours and safaris. He helped us work out an itinerary for our 4 days visit and booked everything for us. We said we might like to play golf and he told us all about the local course and even loaned us his golf clubs at no charge. The rooms were spotless, breakfast was fantastic courtesy of Marie. Best of all they messaged us when hippos were in the park opposite and we saw them really close up, and walking through the town. Excellent place in every respect.

What a great place to spend the 2 nights in StLucia. The rooms are really stunning with monkeys in the trees above. Host Marie was of great help to suggest activities. Good to know: the hosts can arrange activities for you too!

Amazing everything - beautiful rooms, garden and lounge, delicious home made breakfast (including the best granola I've ever eaten). Adrian and Marie are wonderful hosts who make you feel almost like part of the family, and their two dogs are incredibly friendly and well-behaved. If we're coming to South Africa again, St Lucia and Kwalucia are a must!

This place is truly remarkable, and we can't wait to return. Our stay here left us delighted for several compelling reasons. To begin, our room was exquisitely decorated with a keen attention to even the smallest details. The aroma, in particular, was thoughtfully considered. The room featured a cozy bathtub complete with a bathtub tray and candles, and the sink was adorned with a charming hippo motif. Essential amenities like gels, shampoos, body lotions, cotton swabs, and pads were thoughtfully arranged by the sink, ensuring our comfort. Even the bed, something we're quite particular about, proved wonderfully comfortable. While we didn't watch much TV, we did enjoy the soothing local and classical music on the radio. Furthermore, the room was thoughtfully stocked with tea, coffee, and delightful snacks. Secondly, we owe a significant part of our exceptional St. Lucia experience to the owner, Adrian. His guidance and assistance made our entire South African journey unforgettable. Adrian meticulously planned our activities, and as a result, we had the privilege of taking a boat tour to observe hippos. What made this experience stand out was the intimate setting with only a handful of fellow tourists and an exceptionally knowledgeable guide, unlike the crowded boats we observed elsewhere. Our guide even treated us to some unexpected sights. The following day, we embarked on an ocean fishing expedition with just five of us aboard. It turned out to be a stroke of luck as we enjoyed an incredible 3.5-hour session of whale watching, leaving us with countless treasured photos and videos of these majestic creatures. As a bonus, I even reeled in a substantial tuna, which Adrian ensured was expertly prepared at a local restaurant. The freshness of the tuna made it a truly unique and delectable experience. Adrian also offered invaluable recommendations regarding restaurants, local markets, and additional excursions. The warm and attentive hospitality of Adrian and Marie left a lasting impression on us. Lastly, the breakfasts served at the establishment were nothing short of superb. In the evenings, guests could gather in the hall for drinks and music, with a selection of books and photo albums available for those who wished to explore. For those interested, a charming little pool added to the ambiance, its evening illumination enhancing the overall experience. Our wholehearted recommendation is that you don't hesitate to book a stay at this extraordinary place.

We had a fantastic stay with Adrian and Marie. Feels like coming home. Rooms are clean and nice. You can ask the hosts anything, they will help you with. Definitely would like to come back! We were looking for 3 days to see the hippo's in the street and on our last day we were lucky! Lorenzo & Keshia

This was our greatest stay during our South Africa trip! It truly is a paradise. Everything into the furthest detail is so beautiful, well organised, charming and nice. The breakfast is a sensation. The hosts are the friedliest people you have ever met and they give you great advice about where to go and how to drive there. You get insider tips and they even book trips for you if you want.

We had a wonderful time at Kwalucia and can thoroughly recommend it, particularly if you are looking for a homely , relaxed atmosphere and outstanding hospitality. There are just 4 rooms, each with a small terrace. The garden has many mature trees and comes complete with monkeys (unwelcome) and squirrels(welcome). The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk to several restaurants and with private guest parking. On arrival you are welcomed by Marie, Adrian and their 2 very friendly dogs and briefed by Adrian on what to do in the area over a welcome drink. You choose your own breakfast time, tours are booked and restaurants recommended. Our-room was a good size and contained everything you might want; a fridge, TV, safe, coffee, air con, fan, separate shower and bath. The only thing we didn’t like is the doorless toilet but we lived with that! The bed is large and very comfortable. The whole room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a delight and different every day. We enjoyed homemade granola, jams and bread, fruits, yoghurt, cold meats and a cooked option - we loved the scrambled eggs. We travel widely and are very fussy about where we stay but would have no qualms about returning to Kwalucia.
