Our room was slippery and we found a snake in the room, when we talked about it with the reception lady around 12:30 she talked to us as if she was falling from a tree. That reception lady was very rude towards us and showed no respect…. We’re really not happy. The way she spoke to us as customers is nót appreciated and this is not how you speak to the guests

I suppose we should have known what to expect when we arrived, considering the receptionist was not wearing a mask and there was no sanitizer in sight. A cleaner, no mask, arrived at our unit with us to replenish the toilet paper and courtesy coffee et al. Just as well, cause we got her to clean the outside table of ash and resweep the unit, which despite her assistance did not look cleaned. There was no sanitizer in the unit and clearly the surfaces had not been sanitized. The attached picture shows how much dirt I brushed off the coffee table. I won’t mention the clearly uncleaned bath and kitchen sink.
The pool was off limits for us due to our wanting to social distance but the area was occupied by a family staying in a unit along with their large group of friends who were not residents.
So much potential but clearly no management, control or concern for guests.

Appartamenti vecchi e poco curati. Pulizie nella media. Personale alla reception gentile. Onestamente non credo che ci ritornerò.
Nella scelta, preferite le stanze agli appartamenti. Sicuramente sono più ben tenuti e magari restaurati da poco.

Booked St Lucia lodge via bookings.com. Due to an issue with electricity (?) in that accommodation we were transferred here instead. A better option as it’s on MacKenzie with Spar, restaurants etc near by. Nice and clean and a really good choice.
The rooms we took were upstairs with a balcony overlooking the pool. We didn’t use the pool but it looks good. They have interconnecting rooms for families. Tv, wifi, tea/coffee and self catering (microwave, hob and fridge) are included. Soap and conditioner/ towels are also included.
There is air co but unfortunately two load shedding periods during the night meant it was limited use. Thankfully not too hot this time of year.
We used the restaurant for drinks and breakfast - very good. There are Lots of play areas for kids including on the terrace.
The staff were excellent from when we met the manager at the outset through to the floor and cleaning/ gardening team.

Haben drei Tage in der Hippo Lodge verbracht. Hatten dort eine Family Lodge mit zwei Schlafzimmern und einem Wohnzimmer mit integrierter Küche. In der Rezeption gibt es zusätzlich einen Veranstalter für Safari‘s. Das Hotel bietet preiswertes Frühstück, man kann sich aber auch in der eigenen Lodge in der voll ausgestatteten Küche selber verpflegen. Die Unterbringung ist sauber und gepflegt. Mit Glück wie man am Nachmittag im Garten von Nilpferden besucht

Estuvimos en agosto de 2022, 2 noches, habitación bien, ubicación bien, pero gestión pésima.
Recogiendo la maleta para irnos vino una de las encargadas para decirnos que le habían rechazado el pago de la habitación. Le explicamos que el pago estaba realizado desde hacía meses, no nos habían devuelto el dinero (fue a través de booking) ni nos había llegado ninguna notificación, en la cuenta nos habían descontado el dinero. Empezó a ponerse muy nerviosa, muy maleducada no nos escuchaba, sólo nos ponía el datáfono delante diciendo que no nos íbamos a ir sin pagar porque perdería su dinero, decía que tenía un papel donde ponía el rechazo del pago pero que justo no lo encontraba.
Finalmente, ante su nerviosismo, decidimos volver a pagar y gestionar después si realmente había habido alguna incidencia con booking.
Tras meses con mensajes a Hippo Lodge y a booking, hace una semana nos han devuelto el dinero a través de booking. Desde hippo Lodge la otra encargada reconoció el error y nos dijo que se nos devolvería el dinero, pero tras meses insistiendo no conseguimos nada.
No recomiendo este sitio, no saben gestionar las reservas (tampoco se habían dado cuenta de que tuvimos que pasar de 3 noches iniciales a 2 por un cambio de vuelo interno, habiéndonos devuelto ya el dinero proporcional booking más de un mes antes).
La actitud de la trabajadora deja bastante que desear, borde a no poder más cuando estábamos intentando enseñarle los movimientos del pago.
