Having been to St Lucia several times now this is absolutely, hands-down the best accommodation experience we've had so far. It's a recently refurbished property, so the finishes and amenities are modern and in good condition.

There's a lovely big pool to cool off in and the rooms have aircon too; which both help with the humid weather. Having our own bar fridge in the room was a big advantage for keeping our wine cold and not having to worry about it being pilfered out of a communal fridge (which has happened in the past). Another bonus was the included breakfast, which was delicious every one of the 7 mornings we stayed there - not the standard fare you usually get but with quality offerings and extras.

What makes it special is that it's owned and managed on-site by a wonderful family. This was evident by how spotlessly clean the venue always was and that if anything needed attention it was sorted out quickly. The location is also perfect, being within walking distance of both the restaurants / shops and nearby indigenous forest along the estuary.

iGwalaGwala is one of those memorable gems you come across on your travels that has such a great vibe and energy about it because of the warmth and attention of those that look after it. Without a doubt, as long as it's being run by the same fantastic family, we'll be staying here every time we return to St Lucia. 5 stars in every regard.

Igwalagwala and the pretty Elne made a huge impact on our little explorers trip through St Lucia. On our search for accommodation for our own guests, we did visit many of the nearby accommodations, however, this one stood out!
The entry/ lobby area is decorated very stylish and open yet cozy enough to get a homey feeling. Our room was beautiful with lots of love for detail in simple things. The bed was super comfortable and allowed much needed rest. The bathroom was within the room and had a big spacious shower with a fair amount of water pressure as well as hot water (very important for me). Little toiletries were decorating the spacious sink and you had actual space to put your own things. More details in mirrors, blow dryer etc were also appreciated. I also appreciated the build-in adapter plug that welcomes all travelers! Rooms are cozy and nicely spread, so even when together, you have your privacy. Pool and common area are beautifully done and inviting. Lobby has a lot of space to hang around/ work. Books and magazines keep one busy as well as a big screen TV. Breakfast was also incredible. There was nothing to miss and apart from a warm meal of eggs etc you also enjoy some good ol' müsli, yogurt, juices and yummy cake... Elne made sure it was all nice and the personal dedication was clearly visible. All in all such an amazing stay, that we did end up extending another night, which was luckily no problem. Definitely worth it and at the level of our clients as well! We are looking forward to come around again.

This was our second time staying at Igwalagwala and we're already looking forward to returning later this year. It's an absolute gem of a guesthouse, one of our all-time favourites anywhere. This is has a lot to do with the warmth and attention given by the owners, who are on site and always ready to help with anything that might make your stay better. We love the fact that there's a decent sized fridge in every room to keep drinks cold. We love the spacious courtyard, ringed by palm trees, with its big swimming pool. We love the location, on a quiet road but within walking distance to both the estuary and the main street. We love the included breakfast, which is full of delicious options and freshly prepared each day. We've been St Lucia a number of times over the years and now never have to think twice about where we'll be staying... and we love that too.

I definitely recommend staying at Igwalagwala Guest House when visiting St.Lucia.
The staff is friendly and we felt welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The Guest House has a large breakfast area where is also space to sit down and relax. The rooms were clean and designed with love. Rooms are all different and lots of details make them special. The pool and the garden area were excellent! But most of all, the friendliness and helpfulness of the whole staff team should be mentioned here - at every time and alsways with a smile they tried to help us with every question! GREAT!!!

We spent 3 nights at Igwalagwala guest house and it was an excellent stay for many reasons: our family bedroom was spacious and comfortable, well equipped with a fridge/kettle/air con. the beds were comfortable.
The garden was peaceful and beautiful with a comfortable spot to chill around the pool
The house is secured with a private secure parking too, it is walking distance to most restaurants and shopping commodities.
The breakfast were delicious.
Elne was at the reception when we checked-in, she is a friendly, professional and pleasant hostess, always helpful during our stay, for a nice place to stay-no need to look further-we definitely highly recommend a stay at Igwalnagwala.

Our family, including 3 kids, had a warm and memorable stay. The kids shared a 4 bed family room, next to ours, which was very convenient. The rooms were very spacious, clean and newly renovated and had everything we needed. The guesthouse is run by a very warm and very helpful family located on a quiet street a very short walk from the town’s main drag.
St. Lucia itself is one of South Africa’s best hidden gems and the best value coastal holiday destination. The beauty of Isimangaliso Wetland Park is incredible and hard to describe, and the beach at Cape Vidal is outstanding. Make sure to visit the quiet Mission Rocks at sunset. We can’t recommend the area and our hosts highly enough.

Wow!!! What a treat. It felt like staying in a 5 Star Guest House. Most beautiful decor, rooms are modern with perfect taste. Bedding with immaculate linnen of the finest quality. The breakfast was truly special and extremely tasteful. The owners are very nice people with a gentle character of hospitality - they went out of their way from the beginning when we book up until when we left. Thank you for serving us iGwalagwala. We DEFINITELY recommend.

The owner (Elné) was very friendly and helpful. The property is decorated with latest interior trends, gives a lush and tropical experience. I was the only guest and i felt very safe. She recommended activities to do in the area as well as restaurants to try out - all was nothing short of amazing.

Great property in a fantastic location. Great attention to details (from Covid-related measures to focus on ensuring allergies were taken into account in the breakfast)

The above in itself is outstanding, but what made the stay memorable was the hosts, Flip and Yvonne, and their lovely daughter Elné. The family went the extra mile in helping with an unexpected car battery issue. Speechless.

I would recommend anybody going to lovely St Lucia to stay in iGwalagwala, no second thoughts.

Family Du Preez. Thanks a lot for everything.
