From the first email to the guesthouse, through accommodating us for a change of dates to accommodating our late check-out, this was the most remarkable experience of hospitality I have encountered anywhere. And I travel 6 times a year internationally for work and 2-3 times a year locally with my family ( or did prior to the pandemic). The family owners went out of their way to make every aspect of our stay superb. Our daughter has eating issues and she basically had food bought and made specially for her. They even packed us a huge takeaway breakfast to eat on our last morning en route to a snorkeling expedition. From earbuds, sanitizer in each room to extra swimming towels in the cupboards, they have thought about anything one could possibly need. Breakfasts were 4 courses, including homemade banana bread, stewed fruit. The 5 star game lodge we stayed in on our trip fell way below our experience at this guest house. We will ensure we include St Lucia on as many future trips as possible simply to stay here again.

Our family of five stayed in the spacious family room and we were very pleased with our three days at the Guesthouse. On arrival we were greated with drinks and information about St Lucia and great tips on what to do during our stay. The family room was perfect for us with our children in one room and me and my wife in the other. It was clean and spacious with mosquito nets, coffe maker, towels etc, etc. The wifi was very appreciated by our children! Breakfast was great and served on the terrace overlooking the nice lush garden. The hosts were fantastic and in the morning offered a cooler box with plates, knives, glasses, etc that could be used to bring a picnic to Cape Vidal where there are no restaurants. Further they offered beach towels and snorkeling gear. Another great service was that our car was washed every day.
Thank you very much for making our stay a great memory!

Best regards
Björn & Ebba

We loved our rooms overlooking the pool, the beautiful garden, the breakfast was delicious with freshly baked pastry each morning, cheeses and cold cuts and fruits and more. Lovely hosts. If we go back to St. Lucia we’ll stay with them again for sure!

There are not enough superlatives to describe our amazing experience at St. Lucia Wetlands Guesthouse, under the extraordinary care of Colin and Natalie and their friendly and efficient staff.

In the middle of a lush garden, the house and rooms are charming, comfortable, stocked and furnished with an obvious care for detail. The yard and garden are

Breakfast is plentiful, tasty, and such a great way to start your day, with Colin and Natalie’s witty and unfailingly helpful advice. We were offered cooling boxes, snorkels, towels and a rich breakfast to-go on days we left early for trips. Our cars were washed several times after the long and muddy drives. Colin even had our laundry washed and pressed and returned the same day.

I have never experienced this level of hospitality and care in my many years of travels. I use “care” a lot in this review because it’s obvious they really do care. They accommodated us in so many ways.

Outstanding. Can’t wait to return. What a great way to start our first trip to South Africa. We might get used to this.

This was by Farbe tue best accomodation I had in South Africa and one of the best of all my travel.
What makes ir that special?
The sum of everything, because all is everything is at its best, the room, the lovely furnitured house and Garden, the very taste Breakfast with plenty of different foods. It was the best Breakfast I had Turing my holidays here and the best Coffee.
But on top of that , what it makes so memorable, is Colin, who is such a great great host. He makes your stay that special. Colin welcomes his guests so warm and individually and tries to make them happy and capture their needs. Even outside the guest house he took care about us when we hit on a hippo in the streets on the way back. We managed a lift by local people to the guest house but there were still 4 other guests in the restaurant. Even it was new years night and already late, Colin went to the restaurant to give his phone Nummer to them, so that they could call him later to be picked up.
He is a really carrying and emphatic guy who wants to make his guests happy.
But not to fort his parents, who are also very nice and carrying hosts.

Thanks a million, Colin. I really enjoyed my stay and chatting with you. Would have loved to stay longer.
Unforgettable stay!

NorthStar, When you wrote to us and said that you intended to write a review, we hoped we showed enough appreciation. Now that we read your review we know it would never be enough. Thank you very much for the kind words used in describing you stay, even though you were here not long enough. However you did take full advantage of exploring St Lucia and the area prior to your stay and your evening here was made so much more enjoyable because of the company of guests you had the pleasure of celebrating New Years Eve with. Once again it was our pleasure hosting you. Warm regards, Colin and the rest of the family.

😀 - Such a huge effort was made by everyone to make sure we were comfortable, had all we could wish for (and more) and most importantly in these COVID-19 times we felt safe. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms well set out with all the necessary attention to detail.
Every breakfast was a feast with a different home made bread / pastry surprise from Natalie daily.
Great tips from Colin and Derrick on what to do for the day, and where to stop to get the best of the gorgeous St Lucia scenery and wildlife. To make life easy there is always a cooler box for you to pop your drinks and lunch into.
One evening when we got home Hettie had made popcorn for the boys to sit and watch a movie on the TV.
Such genuine warmth and kindness makes this a very special place to stay and we cannot wait to go back.
Thanks to the entire TEAM who work so beautifully together.

What a fabulous guest house! Colin reached out to us on email right after I made the reservation, describing all sorts of things we could enjoy while staying at this gracious, elegant manor -- and we knew we had made the right choice. We were totally charmed by the home, half a dozen or so spacious, beautifully decorated rooms, modern bathrooms, set in a jungly garden with a lovely swimming pool. A most sumptuous breakfast is served on the patio, eggs, fruits, breads, crepes, and before leaving on adventures, Colin offers suggestions for evening dining in the charming little town, and provides pre or post dinner beverages in the living room. There could not be a finer choice for a stay in St. Lucia - absolutely do not miss it!

A beautiful haven to "come home to" after a day of exploring St Lucia and Cape Vidal, with local small wildlife of its own to enjoy.

We had a truly wonderful 8-night stay and the guesthouse is by far the best we have been to in our travels. The rooms are welcoming, clean and are equipped with all required amenities. The common guest areas are cozy and inviting - the pool was fabulous too. The breakfast is delicious, generous in size and variety, and expertly prepared. Best of all - the owners and support staff are incredibly warm and attentive, going above and beyond always to make our stay even better.

Our stay in the guest house can only be rated as very positive throughout. From reception to departure, everything was very warm. Overall, the house is conservative but furnished with great taste. We received extensive documentation from Colin of what we could do in the area in three days. We have had informative conversations again and again, which had a very positive effect on our stay. We were particularly impressed by the very extensive and extremely tasty breakfast, which was prepared and served with great care. Overall, there was nothing to complain about, it was a very pleasant stay at the St. Lucia Wetlands Guest House.

Hello Chris, Thank you for your interest and valued support of St Lucia Wetlands Guesthouse. We regret to inform you that over the requested period we are fully booked and will not be able to accommodate you and your new bride. Regarding your requests on thing to do. None of the St Lucia properties are on the beach as our village is surrounded by park on one side and indigenous bush on the other. The beach is however 1.5 km form the residential area. There are walking trails, horse riding, boat cruises, game drives (self or organized) that can be taken to cape vidal where there is a beautiful unspoilt beach. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and as a destination neither you nor your wife will be disappointed. I would comfortably recommend any of the top 5 Trip Advisor properties as they are all very good. Wishing you all the best with your travel arrangements. Warm regards, Colin.
