The staff at Amazulu were very helpful, kind and prepared. The lodge was also in good condition and well maintained, and we love the rooms and layout. As we were on a birding tour, they kindly offered a packed breakfast for our convenience.

Spent one night here in what is a pretty unprepossessing strip of St Lucia town. It was at the end of the street so quiet and leafy. Pleasant enough for the kind of establishment you get in St Lucia, which is grubby and overcrowded. Check-in was smooth and efficient. However, we discovered during the evening that the toilet wasn’t working well. Was told to hold the lever down a bit longer than usual. By morning it had stopped working completely, which was very stressful. Reported to two ladies at reception. Was told by one of them that we there were two toilets in the public area! Fortunately she was quickly overruled by her colleague, who had a bit more hospitality sense and who kindly offered keys to the neighbouring room to use the facilities. Crikey, would have hated to see the look on my wife's face if I'd reported back.

The staff is very friendly, rooms are spacious and the lodge is conveniently located in town where you can walk to the shops or to restaurants. For us (a family with 2 young kids) it was absolutely perfect as they have family rooms with a big bathroom, fridge and coffee/tea station, all very clean and all in all a good value for money.
