We were given to understand that Iketla means "relax" & there is no better way to describe it! The Lodge & its surrounds are truly part of nature & the ambience of the place is one of sheer indulgence. The rooms are built out of the local rock & have stunning views & are very well appointed. The vista is...

We visited Iketla for a one night stop-over on 6 January 2014. Iketla is situated close to Orighstad, conveniently between the northern regions of the Kruger National Park, where we holidayed, and the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. On our way, we stopped at the JG Strydom tunnel, where we managed to see the Taita Falcon! Ikethla is a small lodge...

We slept one night here. The owners themselves were not present, so we were welcomed by the couple that has been in service. It was our last night of the holiday, so we had looked forward to a pleasant evening with the family. However, because we were the only guests the couple came uninvited to sit. Although it was a...

Dear Willemien Thank you very much for your review - we appreciate all comments. We, as owners, were not on the premises but our managers have been with us for more than 18 months and we have always had very complimentary feedback on our service and interaction with guests. On the way from Kruger Park to Johannesburg (2nd to 4th October 2013) our friends and we spent two wonderful, relaxing and comfortable days in the Ikleta Lodge. Hennielene and albert are great and very attentive hosts. More than that - the daily culinary dinner in a cozy atmosphere earning 5 stars. Unfortunately we could not stay longer, our South-Africa-trip-schedule...

We stayed 2 nights at Iketla at the end of our South African trip in April 2012. We've discovered a wonderful place even though we didn't have the chance to fully enjoy the place and the surroundings as one member of our group was at the hospital in Nelspruit. Our morning walk was a wonderful experience, very different from ther...

Without doubt a wonderful place to pass the time, and use as a base for touring that area. The view from the room of the valley was wonderful, the room excellent including the outside shower. We ate dinner in the restaurant each evening and the food was outstanding. The service mentall round was faultless and would recommend anyone to this...

Everything at Iketla is top class from when you arrive up to when you leave. It is the small things that matter - to see a personal welcome note on the notice board - and the farewell gift when you leave. We had a magic stay and it was great to interact with all the foreign tourists - the experience...

Iketla is a natural stop off en route between Joburg and the Kruger Park, but its also half way in style between the typical expensive big 5 game lodge and a normal country B&B, and is all the better for it. The owners previously ran a lodge near the Kruger, are friendly and energetic and display a wealth of knowledge...

The Iketla Lodge was our first South Africa stay during our honeymoon in November/December 2012. The small lodge with only a few chalets is beautifully located and hidden from view.
