A stay at Torburnlea is the best introduction to the Lowveld that one could possibly hope for. Gracious, luxurious, historic and refreshing, Torburnlea is the former farmhouse in what were vast plantations managed by HL Hall & Sons. Now this magical homestead is surrounded by a lifestyle village which allows for safe and peaceful walks within a secure environment, enjoying views of the orchards and surrounding ranges. The chef, Stanford, is superb and the staff friendly and helpful. Torburnlea is in the excellent care of Andrew and Kim Hall who have a wealth of knowledge of all aspects of the lowveld, possible excursions and all areas of interest.

Nothing was missed. Stanford (manager) and staff were amazing. Nothing we asked was too much .Delicious breakfast, divine relaxed accommodation. Would highly recommend. We will definitely be back to sample the dinner and get a taste of the wine from the basement wine cellar. Thanks a lot

We loved our stay at Torburnlea B&B in all aspects! Andrew&Kim made our stay very lovely from the beginning. The meals Stanford cooks every night are delicious and made from local and fresh products. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. We enjoyed the quiet and relaxing guesthouse very much. The highlight was the Krüger Safari with Andrew - he is such a great and knowledged guide! We had our best time!

An absolute dream. This was the best staff of anywhere we have ever stayed and such warm welcoming owners too. The building itself is perfection with every detail so well thought out to make you feel at home. We spent a ton of time just relaxing on the porch and gardens. There’s space for a brai, a beautiful huge breezy porch, a wine cellar with very reasonably priced bottles, AC in every room, private dining spaces split up among guests, parking, a pool across the road, and such incredibly comfy beds. We loved our view, the showers, our tub, the sounds, the smells, EVERYTHING. We traveled with two young babies and usually that makes travel harder but with the options of added breakfast, dinner, laundry, and babysitters - this was the most relaxed holidays I’ve had in ages. I can’t wait to come back.

Response from Andrew Hall, Owner at Torburnlea B&B

Thanks so much for your review and we are so pleased that you were able to enjoy a long holiday break with us. You also took all opportunities to explore the area, into Kruger and more, as there is plenty to do, but also time to relax on the verandah. Our staff are like family, so they treat you as their guests, to make you feel at home. We made a special arrangement to accommodate your small children, as we usually only welcome children over 12 years, happily everything worked out well and our staff were able to assist with baby-sitting duties over and above their normal routine. Come back soon.
