OMG, This is the most beautiful place I have visited in a while. The house is amazing, perfect for people who like being a bit away from everything else and still enjoy 5-star treatment. The food was out of this world, the breakfast was always amazing and the dinner, wow, MR Stanford is a really good chef. The pool is very close to the house but man it would have been even more nicer if it was in the premise. I give them a 1o/10.

We had a magical stopover at Torburnlea. Stanford is an exceptional host and took great care of us. We had an excellent dinner which would fit into any of the top fine dining restaurants. Such a treat to be able to go down into the cellar to chose a bottle of wine from their wide selection. Love the history of the house. We are sorry to have only spent the single night but greatly appreciate their flexibility to allow us. Looking forward to returning

From Stanford’s succulent ostrich steak, to Kruger National Park’s gracefully mischievous kudus, through the meandering roads of the Mbombela vineyards/macadamia gardens and the thoughtfully packaged crunchy home-made rusk, Torburnlea offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A week-long sojourn of vigorous celebration – and heartfelt exploration – expounded our gathering from all corners of the world. Poised, we embarked on a voyage of discovery on Panorama Route… navigating the arresting Blyde River Canyon, slowed only by the equally insatiable waterfalls, nourished by Harrie's renowned pancakes. After the meek mystery of the Sudwala Caves, we challenged our knowledge of indigenous foliage in the Botanical Gardens, before fortuitously panning for gold dust in the shadows of Barberton’s imperial mines. Tree-lined bliss, abundant reminiscence, and village charm, a calm sanctuary on the edge of nature’s calling. Stooped in history, anchored in the present. Exquisitely planned, remarkably executed. An extraordinary African adventure. Tim, Victoria, Kieran, Bola, Will, Judith, Ed, Akin, Vinay, Andy, Ruth, Emily (the “30th Crew”)

This is a beautifully decorated, secure property that I recommend unreservedly. The interior design is impressive and is matched by the welcome from Kim, Andrew and Stanford. The bedrooms and communal areas exude elegance and style but are also comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious three course meal in the dining room, prepared and served by Stanford. As a result we were not able to do full justice to the following morning’s superb breakfast.

We spent a night only but enjoyed a lot. The house has a lot of charm, service & food was amazing! The national park and the airport is only a short drive and the Panorama route is also easily reachable. A great start or end to your trip.

Torburnlea certainly exceeds expectations! Attention to detail throughout the entire homestead - from rooms, to amenities, to food service. All surrounded by lush gardens. Would certainly recommend you have their 3 course set menu dinner, if it is available during your stay.
