What a fantastic place. The rooms are well appointed, and the beds super comfortable. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. The breakfast was lovely. Hosts Kim and Andy are very knowledgeable and always willing to help with anything you need. Highly recommended!

What a wonderful place to stay at! We where so in awe of how beautiful and relaxing this guesthouse is! They put so much effort in every single detail and make sure that you are as comfortable as possible. The hosts are so friendly and have such a great eye for setting up a beautiful home. They found the perfect balance between preserving the history the house has to offer but also modernizing it to such an extent that it enhances the history of the house. Cannot recommend this place enough. The park run is also close by for those whom want to enjoy a run at a beautiful location the Saturday morning and there after you can enjoy a 5 star breakfast and the BEST coffee. You will definitely see us again and again! Value for money!

Torburnlea Guesthouse, Mataffin Macadamia Estate, Nelspruit Mbombela, Mpumalanga South Africa.
Torburnlea was my first choice for a recent business trip to Nelspruit( after a day visit to the nearby Kruger Park) and the perfect antidote to the COVID-19 pandemic. The work was intense, busy and quite stressful but the Tornburnlea experience was brilliant and even better than my previous visit some time before Covid -19, an age away.
I so enjoyed the luxury accommodation in the beautifully furnished family homestead, set in a tranquil garden in a very safe estate with lots of opportunities to walk after a busy working day. What sets this guest house apart is the gracious, personalized and very caring service. Absolutely don’t miss the magnificent meals with fresh produce from the area perfectly prepared. Be sure to set aside enough time to enjoy the multi-course delicious breakfast. I started my day with freshly sliced tropical fruits, creamy yoghurt, perfectly poached eggs, salmon , creamy avocado from the estate and mushrooms and more!
Definitely include dinner – dressed salad leaves and herbs from the kitchen garden, the best roasted trout ever, lemon tart was on the menu one of the nights. The other night the I asked for salmon to treat my two guests, colleagues who live in the estate, and the chef /owner kindly rushed off to town to satisfy my request.
The hosts and staff are lovely and will welcome you into their ‘home’ and ensure you have a very special stay.

The absolutely stunning grounds and property are coupled with comfort and the friendliness of the staff and owners. Torburnlea is been welcoming us (a family of three) for few times by now and we continue to enjoy the same high-standard service, rich and delicious breakfast and dinners, and the availability of staff to accommodate all our needs. The great attention to detail is what sets Torburnleas apart from other accommodations in town.

We had a fantastic stay at Torburnlea during our Easter vacation. The place has a beautiful, tranquil location with magnificent gardens and views. Everything from the grounds, to the food, and the rooms speaks of the owners great desire that you feel welcomed in their historical home. We were happy to have found such a special place in Nelspruit and will definitely be back!

On arrival you feel pushed back in time with all the pictures and private decorations!

Seeing the charming rooms where no detail is missing you just feel home.

The 5 star dinner brings you close to heaven - just the Tequila was missing...

Coming back soon with my wife!

Torburnlea is our preferred place to stay when we are in Nelspruit for business. However is you you are a tourist it is a good start of your explorations in this part of South Africa too. It’s proximity is close to the Kruger Park. Torburnlea is situated in a gated community, has lovely gardens and takes you back to days gone by in a tranquil and brilliantly decorated environment. There are limited rooms, which contributes to the the nice atmosphere. Arriving after a busy day of traveling or dealing with business matters. a relaxing drink at the balcony with traveling companions or other guests is nice. That all followed by the fine dining prepared Stanford, the superb resident chef, coffee in the lounge at the fire place is unforgettable. Torburnlea a place have to stay the night for what ever occasion!

Placed on the farm estate of the infamous Halls and son farm estate. Beautifully decorated and welcoming. Very peaceful setting, Stanford the resident headman went out of his way to make us feel at home . The food was well prepared and be prepared for long lovely conversations with the hosts. A wonderful well deserved break and recommend stop over in Nelspruit.

A stay at Torburnlea is the best introduction to the Lowveld that one could possibly hope for. Gracious, luxurious, historic and refreshing, Torburnlea is the former farmhouse in what were vast plantations managed by HL Hall & Sons. Now this magical homestead is surrounded by a lifestyle village which allows for safe and peaceful walks within a secure environment, enjoying views of the orchards and surrounding ranges. The chef, Stanford, is superb and the staff friendly and helpful. Torburnlea is in the excellent care of Andrew and Kim Hall who have a wealth of knowledge of all aspects of the lowveld, possible excursions and all areas of interest.

We booked a weekend at this amazing B&B on recommendation and we were not disappointed. From the broad friendly smile of Stanford on arrival to the scrumptiously delicious meals he prepares and the owners hands on involvement, made us simply feel at home. Our room was spacious and all the little personal touches made our stay even more amazing. We will certainly be back!
