You know you are going to be treated well because as soon as you step out of your car, a porter is at your side to offload your bags and take them to reception. Bring vegetarian I called the chef who prepared me a stir fry as it was a traditional South African buffet for dinner. The rooms are standard and comfortable with a bath and shower and extra towels which is becoming rare these days.

Please put on your menu all charges when we prefer room dinning and more options on menu.

You need to fix the bathroom cabine because in the majority of Executive room we stayed in the whole 2019 the cabine got problems. It opens while you are bathing, wetting the floor. I strongly recommend you to do something quickly in order to match with the whole services you are offering.

This Hotel need to be renew, its very old particularly the rooms furniture. The breakfast room is also very old, all the equipment using during the services needs to renew. The Hotel building is very charming and all the envoirment too!

Rooms were clean although furniture is outdated, the air con worked but very noisy, The bed was comfortfably with good quality linen.
Female waitresses on breakfast in area do not greet at all. Cleaning staff were very friendly. The restaurant menu does not match the status of the hotel at all.
The bar man was overwhelmed, it looks like they are short staffed,he was doing his best.
Christmas dinner was not worthy the money, people had to queque like you are at a hot soup kitchen.
They were trying hard to follow covid protocols.
In summary go there to sleep and eat out if you can.

My booking was confirmed 6 days before my arrival by the travel agent for Bed, dinner and breakfast at Stay easy , when I arrived there was no room available for me .I was transferred to Southern & Sun and gave me disabled guest room. when I checked out, I was told that I in need to pay extra because the rates for Southern & Sun an and Stay easy differs which delayed my checking out...the receptionist of both hotels had to sort out their arrangement and communication.

This hotel was comfortable and had all mod cons, although the electric plugs in my room were not working and I had to get the electrician to mend for me. Sadly the pool was under repair. It would have been good to have informed guests of this before arrival, and indeed the repairs looked a mess and should have been covered over when no one was working there. Housekeeping had to be called to provide me with shampoo. The restaurant worked well for both breakfast and dinner.

The fact that I arrived to find out that a booking that I asked a clerk to move on the 10th January 2020 to the 17 th and 18th Jan 2020 was not done, but was cancelled. Thus I arrived to no booking, this seemed initially to be a problem for the clerk at check in to sort out quickly, however eventually I asked whether he could provide accommodation for 2 nights which was eventually done. Curved balls like these need to be handled swiftly

What a dreadful experience. We were checked in by the receptionist Nicky who had such an attitude that we felt unwelcome from the minute we stepped in the door. Firstly she told us she had no availability then managed to find two different rooms. The room was clean enough but we had no coffee in our room. When we went to reception to ask for some, we were told by Nicky that they were out of stock!!! She had a terrible attitude and was very sullen. I am most disappointed in this hotel and will never again stay in a SOUTHERN SUN due to this terrible experience. I hope you choose a different hotel chain as the experience we had at southern sun was unforgivable and not worth a fraction of what they charge

We were upset with the breakfast, It will be great if the management could improve the quality of it. However, I enjoy staying here, especially right in front of Riverside mall.
