This place is so ideal when traveling between South Africa and Mozambique. It is just off the highway. It is also ideal if you want to escape the city life. Stayed over for the night and l must say my expectations were exceeded. We stayed in hotel room and it the room was superbly decorated with a modern shower. This is a well kept establishment with lush green lawns.

I will definitely be going back.

the most important thing about the place is absolute freedom and tranquility. I really enjoyed the fact that they did not send cleaning staff to come and clean our room while we still there. We stayed in a self catering unit and there was everything you need as a person, cutlery, dishes, lounge area, etc.

I stayed over at Kwanyoni Lodge this past week and found the place to be neat and spaciously laid out...the reception was friendly and efficient. We were part of a large motorcycle group on a social weekend away...the venue is ideal for a 1 night stopover ONLY, the rooms are basic but clean. The spit braai didn't materialise as arranged??? it was replaced by overcooked steaks and chops and undercooked chicken...the puddings ran out before the group had all been served without much in reserve which was again disappointing. Our preferred seating on the deck was relocated to the restaurant in preference for another group that apparently booked after us. Tables were not laid and we had to request for cutlery twice...NOT GOOD!!! To add to our woes Eskom implemented load shedding and no proper backup generator was in place, the TV managed to keep going with a makeshift power supply though. The place has potential but needs some tweaking on the aforementioned.

Room Tip: Get a room as far away from the N4 Highway as possible...definitely NOT room No 1.

There are various rooms it seems, all for the same price, and even though the lodge was not at all full, after paying the full price, we were given a room that quite frankly was horrific. Absolutely tiny, no room to move, no air supply at all, as it had no windows, and no air conditioning. It smelt stale and felt like the inside of an oven. At first I thought I could bear one night, but both of us were most uncomfortable and couldn't sleep, so I contacted reception, who did help and moved us to a better room. My question remains however, is why are we charged top dollar for really low grade accommodation and what is the deciding factor? Maybe the person booking you in, just doesn't like your face, you get a prison room, or maybe they do and you get a comfortable reasonable but still quite expensive room? I don't like to play Russian roulette with my money, so unfortunately will take it elsewhere as there are many other establishments in Nelspruit. The wi fi is also not reliable, only working sporadically. Disappointing stay.

The most authentic Lowveld experience accentuated by the very best service you can possibly expect. Expect to receive significantly more than you’d expect. Jacques Viljoen and his team understand service excellence and exceeding expectations.

I stayed there last week Tuesday... the sliding door did not open or close and had to unplug the fridge cause it was making such a noise.

This is however not my major complaint.
When i woke up in the morning, i went to take a shower, only to find out that there was no hot water. I washed my face and had to be on my way as to attend a work meeting in a hurry.
When i went thru to the reception to pay, i had expressed my disappointment to the person behind the counter (Jacques Viljoen). I had stated that i thought it best to review the price i was about to pay for the room, because the price also includes hot water.
This character was disturbingly aggressive and disrespectful. He was not even remotely prepared to even apologize for the inconvenience, and simply said that the geyser was broken and that i should just go and shower in another room. Anyway, to make a long story short, this person ended up shouting, screaming and swearing at me. Telling me to just pay and leave.

Well, i am still in a state of disbelief on how this person conducted himself toward me, as if he was the victim and i had done something wrong or something.

A person of this caliber should most certainly not be in the hospitality industry(that is for sure)
I travel quite extensively and pass thru there very often
This is not the first time that i have stayed there, but will definitely be the last.

I really do not see this place succeeding as a lodge or anything really, with a person like that working there

I will never ever return to this establishment.
Heads up to anyone else wanting to stay there....

Disgusting lodge, terrible rooms not fit for anybody.
Dirty, smelly and nothing worked properly.
(Including the geyser - no hot water!)
Staff very unaccomidating with poorly kept facilities & grounds.

We turned up quite late. We hadn't booked and perhaps because there didn't seem to be many people there we got 'up-graded'. It may be due to this upgrade that this was the best value accommodation we had in four weeks in South Africa. We also thought the restaurant was good value with friendly service.

We had the most amazing first birthday party for our daughter at Kwanyoni Lodge in Saturday, 7 February. The owner went out of his way to make it an unforgettable day. Beautiful surroundings, cool thatched roof stoep with lots of fresh air, huge lawn for the kids to play on and have a jumping castle- the place is perfect and the service excellent. The food was só good- everybody went for a second helping. This is a perfect venue for any function or relaxed Sunday lunch. Thank you so much Jacques - and your friendly staff, Philip and Bongan
