Good, safe apartments with good furniture. Clean and organized with plenty parking and very very quiet close to I'langa Mall (main advantage). It is expensive as it doesn't include WiFi and breakfast.

safubi river lodge is amazing the atmosphere is pleasant and peaceful. The rooms have your basic essentials just carry towels to swim with there is appeal space for a family of 4. we went there for the easter weekend and we expected the place to be full and crowded yet it was silent and relaxing. the view from the balcony was amazing and a short walk to the river which is beautiful on its own. convenience is a mere 5min drive down there road. A place with a river one would expect alot of bugs and things but it absolutely clean and the staff are really friendly. only downfall i see is there are stairs that u have to climb. but it a excellant place to leave everythying behind.

This one goes to specially Mozambicans because a very broad statement was made by the lady at the reception saying " Mozambicans always do this and do that" (bad comments on mozambicans ). We had made 1 booking for 6 adults and 3 children on the phone to which the lady gave me a 2 bedroom apartment plus a 1 bedroom apartment and she told me the prices as well. I agreed to it and confirmed the booking. When i get there she tells me i lied and that i now have to take 2 apartments of 2 bedooms.. like wth !!!! I LIED ?? Seriously.. i told her all the prices as well to which she tells me "yaa we tell all room prices to all our customers " . What nonsense.. after that she started making rude comments about mozambicans which came across as racist comments. Plus her biggest customers are Mozambicans and she talks like this about them. A serious stain on hospitality, no sense of friendliness, no welcoming attitude, very racist owner.. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE !! Worst experience of my life ..

We stayed at this lodge several years ago. We loved it because it had a small collection of chalets set in a "wilderness" atmosphere with the River backdrop. Since then, the lodge is now "incorporated". The beautiful chalet units are now replaced with a mega complex consisting of multi floor apartment buildings which seriously detract from the pleasant, natural setting upon which it now sits.

When we checked in, the clerk was just filling in for the owners, and could not direct us
to our unit location, where to park or how to unload the vehicle as easily as possible. We were given two boxes of coffee/tea fixings, a tiny bar of glycerin soap, shampoo and body wash. Our shock on entering the unit was that detergent was not provided, so we had to make due with this tiny bar of soap. Also, on our check in, we got a key to our
unit along with five or six other small keys. The first challenge was finding the key that fit the barred metal door. (In case of an emergency, you would be hard pressed to exit the unit quickly). You had a secondary key for everything from opening the outside security door to unlocking the patio door. There was also a security system set up in the unit, security guards on foot and a security guard at the enclosed entry gate. I guess if you feel the need for such intense security, this would be the place for you.

The full kitchen definitely was a bonus. There was an adequate supply of silverware and dishes but little else. It would have been nice to have had some scrubby pads and such to wash the dishes at least some dishwashing detergent. Since the grounds were so extensive it would have been nice if there was an area for barbecue.

The unit was quiet small. It consisted of a kitchen and combined dining/living room area. There was cable tv provided, though with limited selection of channels. They had about two or three movie channels. Also, no internet service. The furniture overall looked a bit "tired". The bedroom as well was small, though it did have its own toilet/shower. There was an additional full bathroom, which also was a convenience.

The grounds are very attractive. Lots of open spaces, ideal for children to play, as well as a large swimming pool. Vehicles were given their own parking stall number, which was a little away from your unit. We were not told when we checked in that we could drive up the small hill a small ways, park our car to unload our luggage. Without this knowledge it was quite inconvenient dragging our suitcases up the incline and to our unit.

This lodge definitely is popular with families, especially those with young children. Walking about the complex, you could hear the sounds of toddlers crying and get a whiff of multiple dinners cooking in the kitchen.

We were very disappointed upon our stay at this lodge. The price was not cheap for what you got. With the unattractive apartment style buildings and its ambiance, the place had the look and feel of an ill-planned housing development. But that was just my impression.

I would have given the lodge a fair rating instead of poor if that was an option. It was clean and decently maintained.
