The furnishings are fairly basic with an old 54cm TV in the room, however everything was spotless
and the rooms quite large. The view into the valley is absolutely stunning!. The cost is also very reasonable.

Very friendly hosts and stunning location!! We were very happy with the budget studio we booked. Since we were traveling on a budget it was wonderful to have a little kitchen (with a stove, microwave, fridge, water boiler, utensils, etc) to prepare our own food. Good wifi in the room. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Overall a perfect place to stay- would definitely come back here again!!

I have stayed in quite a few guest houses and lodges in this area.

This is definitely one of my favourites to date. The room I'm staying in is absolutely great, be it for one person or a couple. It has a beautiful view from a private balcony too! Breakfast isn't perfect, but it's breakfast.

The staff are extremely friendly and after the first day they knew exactly how to prepare breakfast.

The guesthouse itself is secluded with no trace of having the city so close by. It's close enough to be convenient and far enough from town not to be noticed.

Tranquil scenery, comfortable studio spaces and a quiet escape from the bustling Nelspruit pace.

The relentless warm climate of Mpumalanga immediately vanishes here, the grounds are reminiscent of a rain forests with spectacular views from all the studio apartments.

Friendly service ensures a comfortable stay whether for 2 days or longer.

With the city a few minutes away, you are close to the all amenities including the bars and trend restaurants makes this an ideal space to stay.

Did I mention that it's affordable too?

Studio # 4 was a nice little apartment with a great view. It is probably not the most convenient place if you want to stay longer, but it served our purpose for a night and the price was simply unbeatable.

Pros:
We loved the view of the nature reserve from our room. (The rooms #3, #4, #5 seem to have the best direct view). The studio had a fan, kitchen utensils, a hot plate and a fridge. There was a mounted TV that played local channels.
The bed was large, sturdy and comfortable.
Considering there was a row of 5 studios and other apartments above, the place was very quiet.
There was a good Wi-Fi signal in our room.
The lady who owns the place was very friendly & helpful.
The guesthouse was in a quiet residential area and gave a sense of security; there was an outer gate with a security code and also an inner gate with a code to enter the apartments.

Cons:
If you do not bring a mosquito net, you might get some bites. We brought ours and were able to improvise. There was also some bug spray inside the apartment.
The room can be pretty hot because there is no air-con and windows cannot be kept open at night. We were lucky that it rained before we went to bed. The fan was quite adequate.
They did not serve breakfast during the weekends.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the studio. When we read the TripAdvisor reviews, we were a bit intrigued about the view, but also were worried about low price (36 euros) because we thought it might be a dump. But, we wanted to try out one night. We are glad we did. It sure is not a dump, rather a lovely little place.

We enjoyed our stay @ Columbus.
Relaxing place, very quiet area. View (from within the room) over the valley is incredible.
The room had everything we needed.
Some small maintenance had to be done - reported and (hopefully!) fixed.

Great guesthouse. Very friendly people and we decided to stay even longer then we planned!
Nice basis rooms with ability to cook and your own fridge.
Our room didn't lock that well but it was a quiet place behind gates and at the other side a cliff so we felt safe anyway.
Prices are good. Breakfast is prepared when u are seated.
A nice mountain nearby with an amazing view. Guesthouse not really in town but when u want to have a good place definitely worth it!
We enjoyed our stay!

Very basic furnishing. Dishes were dirty and still had dish washing liquid in them. Soap and shampoo in the bathroom were of really cheap quality. Grumpy owner, he was seen complaining a lot to other guest and did not make us feel welcome.

Also be mindful of reviews from reviewers that have only reviewed 1-3 places......

THE VIEW!! Amazing! Very friendly and helpful owner. Clean, safe, nice rooms with stunning view! Very nice outdoor area. Restaurants nearby if you have a car. Nothing to complain about, we would stay there again if we are in the area.

Catherine runs a tight ship providing clean rooms and bathrooms and a decent breakfast. The views across the valley are also very beautiful and relaxing.

My only disappointment was that a tasty and suitable vegetarian breakfast was provided for my Colleague and I as requested on the first day-sadly it was exactly the very same breakfast the nest day-some variation would have been highly appreciated.
