Welcome to your home in the bush. Tomjachu is an exclusive, family-owned private nature reserve set in over 550 hectares of game fenced mountain bushveld, located within the Crocodile Valley Nature Conservancy. Just 20 minutes from Nelspruit it overlooks the southern boundary of the Kruger National Park and the great Crocodile River valley. Whether you are looking for adventure or relaxation, with family, friends, or your loved one, Tomjachu offers something for everyone. On our trails, tracks and roads you can mountain bike through the bush on easy or challenging routes, hike amongst the abundant plains game and through mountains and valleys, go for a game drive or guided walk with a knowledgeable guide, enjoy a night-sky safari, and try your hand at fishing for bass and bream in our dams. Or simply unwind by the pool, listening to the orchestra of over 265 bird species, as the fresh mountain air trickles up from the valley below.
The bush dining experience is amazing and the highlight of our week stay. The staff is so helpfull and the food is excellent. The bedrooms in the bush cottage could use a renovation, especially the beds and carpet since it has a smell and the beds were hard. Other than that was our time here amazing and would highly recommend Tomjachu!

Tomjachu Bush Retreat Estate is superb. We appreciated the sumptuous landscapes, the welcome, the calm and the nature. A special thank you to our ranger Martinus Cordier who gave us a very pleasant visit and gave us a thousand and one explanations about the wild nature and the hundreds of birds that inhabit this area. We will come back.

Very nice, very friendly and helpful staff and management. Beautiful landscape and routs to walk, suitable for all ages. The food is good. Safe and relaxing environment. Not far from city. Part of the drive requires tough car. We enjoyed our stay much.

Our stay at Tomjachu was blissful. The views were incredible, the peace and tranquility much needed! The accommodations exactly as advertised. We stayed in the Rock House and it was luxurious and had everything one needed. Plugs at all the right places, ie for hairdryers near mirrors (which always seems to be a problem) The location also ideal for our trip down the panoramic route, a day in the Kruger and a quick golf game at the Mbombela (Home of the Jock) golf course. Added to that the friendliness and personal attention from Abigail and Jay Dean and their staff, was a breath of fresh air, in these times when customer service sometimes is non-existent. No request was too much! The only improvement could possibly be a light at the braai area (which can be switched off when the meat is ready to return to just the stars for ambience) and then the only disappointment (if anything) was the much-anticipated massage that didn't happen due to the in-house therapist being sick (but that couldn't be helped). Didn't want to leave and will absolutely recommend - ideal for couples for a romantic getaway, families and even a mother-daughter break like ours!…

Fabulous Lodge! This was my first time staying at Tomjachu. We stayed in the Valbonne Villa and absolutely loved it. The house and rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean and provide a lot of comfort and feeling of coziness. Although it was winter we couldn't help ourselves and had to have a swim in the beautiful pool with its breathtaking view. It is also nice to have the option of making fire inside or outside to sit around (outside you can obviously braai as well). I can highly recommend Tomjachu for a true African bush experience.

A very special serene and beautiful place to spend a few days, with zebra and other wildlife wondering around as we tucked in to a delicious lunch. Easy to get to, yet completely remote! Would really recommend checking it out.

We had a spectacular visit to Tomjachu. The views were breathtaking, the staff very attentive and charming, overall I couldn't fault it. The lodge had just gone through a refurb so was looking immaculate. To be able to wander around amongst the wildlife was something I will remember for the rest of my life. Couldn't recommend higher
