Thank you so much for your visit and review! I really appreciate the effort you took......... Just my 2c: I thought the 5 to 7km to the nearest mall is actually close? It's only because you don't have other buildings between LoerieRoep and town that it might feel far? If you would take this distance in any city, it would be considered CLOSE BY, don't you think? But yes, it is always good to be prepared and do your shopping before you book in.....and after all: It is part of the experience to stay OUT of town, surrounded by pure nature and lovely views! LoerieRoep Hugs, Lidia

A hidden little Eden gem just about 2km from the N4 entering the city of Mbombela. The hostess was very friendly, supportive and provided the required hospitality to rest each evening after a day's business. No noise from the N4 and / or nearby small holding settlements. Gravel road condition not suited for sedan vehicles especially after a rain storm but vehicles with a good ground clearance will have no challenge. I surely will stay there again though the place has been sold during my visit (Wish I could buy it myself). The location is excellent for travellers and business visitors to Mbombela. Thank You for a wonderful stay!!

The place is nothing compared to all accommodation place I have traveled in my life time. The view is great, but rooms are something else. The rood there is a nightmare, the room and veranda have dirty carpets and cushions. The owner is trying by giving some freebies but the cleaning staff and standard of furniture is really a mess. Also over priced and our TV was not working she came and couldn't help we had to fix it ourselves. I was literally choking due to the carpet.

Thivhulawi, Although I hardly ever get bad reviews like yours and I am not going to take this one seriously. ROAD: You know that most of the country was FLOODED under heavy, heavy rains. I agree....the short gravel road to us, was (and still is) a mess, as it is STILL raining as I write at this very moment. Before your arrival, my rain meter reading, just for the one day, was over a 100mm ...the very next day 25mm and still going for 3 weeks not stop. I am so sorry, but I have no control over the rain. And also no control over people walking over my carpets with wet muddy feet, while there is a small carpet outside to wipe your feet before going in. So please....tick this one off. FURNITURE: The new corner couch, absolute high quality mattresses in both rooms, I am NOT ashamed of. Sorry. Although not the style of a 5 star hotel, the wooden furniture on the porch is also in good condition. But…….. a mess?! CARPETS: When I came to help you with the TV THAT WASN'T WORKING, due to the lightning (!) I was truly upset to find that you threw the big fluffy grey carpet of the main bedroom, double folded and crumpled up on the kitchen floor, while two of you stood on it, messing on it while cooking. You said something stinks in your room and it could only be the carpet. I politely asked you to step aside so I could throw the carpet neatly, tidy and flat outside on the cement floor. While I did that, I took a smell and there was absolutely NOTHING stinky about it. I went from room to room to smell and couldn't smell anything at that moment. CHOKING?! Why didn't you report any uncomfortable issues immediately? Why wait for me to ask you why you mishandle my carpet, while all your doors and windows were tightly closed and the unit was absolutely hot and humid. I could hardly breathe and advised you to please use the fan.......... How must I know one of you didn't use the bathroom? And please take care…….oil and fat thrown down the drain can course a blocked drain. PRICE: I haven't put up my prices in four years, but take note: You visited us during Peak Season. Your rating: * ° ° ° °

We stayed in the treehouse and it was really great. The finishings were so carefully chosen. The food was so great. It is close to major shops but also not too close so you don’t hear the activities of the city. Thank you!

My wife and myself stayed there for two nights. Private setting among the trees and palms. Wooden cottage stylishly equipped and private. Wifi worked well, so one is connected. We did not want to cook, although it is self catering. They Lidia contacted somebody and they cooked for us. Such nice food and large portions and reasonably priced. This is how friendships form, these people are just so nice and pleasant. What a nice stay! Being a tree house, there was a bit of movement when one person walked through the unit. We never felt unsafe at all though, but that might be rectified. And that would be very critical of me but the only negative comment I could think of to make.

Jacques & Maryna, You are part of my super guest list! It was so great to have a nice long chat with Maryna while you were on the zoom meeting the whole afternoon! Good to hear other peoples life stories......it makes you humble and thankful. Must say....the TREE HOUSE is made of wood. And yes, you are a civil engineer and came down to Nelspruit to test the quality of the cement of a very big, solid, buiding project, you might not be used to wood that is not solid. But thats the beauty of it..... all made of natural material and a new experience! Thank you for your friendliness and care and your offer to collect the cement testing blocks......I am sure something good is going to come from it! You will have to come back to see what I did with it! LoerieRoep hugs Lidia

Our arrival at Loerieroep was great, Lydia was super friendly and they made extra arrangements to assist us which I really appreciate. BUT the unit that we slept it was really terrible, and no amount of niceness can make up for that. The "pull out couches" in the living area are so sad and sat through and thin, as soon as you sit on them you feel the springs. The kitchenette does not have a working light so you can barely see what you are doing and no space to prepare anything. Then on to the bathroom, the shower curtain does not stop the water from pouring out onto the floor and the water that came out of the basin smelled like urine, or it might have just been the toilet or the floor but either way the whole bathroom smelled of urine. The bedroom was supposed to have a queen size bed, instead it was two single beds that we had to push together ourselves and even after pushing them together you still don't get a queen size bed because the matrasses cannot reach each other properly. The matrasses are also so old and the springs in them will send you to the chiro for at least 5 sessions. They were also very oddly shaped at the bottom but on further investigation if you lift up the sheets you will see that you received what I have dubbed the "extension package" I have photos of this to prove that I am not making this up, they added some sort of cushion to the end to disguise the fact that these matrasses aren't long enough for the base, which is also just a piece of wooden board and not really a base. The other rooms matrasses were much better to sleep on if you put them on the floor. There was no extra bedding should you need a clean linen or extra blanket. I honestly cannot recommend this place to anyone who is a paying customer. And we certainly will not be back.

Elzane, Thank you for showing out points of disappointment! RESERVATION: You made a booking for 4 people only, but you arrived as 3 adults plus two children of whom you didn’t pay for the nanny. I also gave you a discount of R 700 on the original rates (plus R 400 not paid for the nanny not mentioned) We always make sure that there will be enough bedding for the amount of people booked for. BEDS: Our standard beds for that unit is: 1 x High quality queen bed plus 2 x high quality single beds. Just to explain: We had 4 ladies who stayed there for a week, who had to go out so that you could sleep there for the Saturday night (only) and then to have them return back again early the Sunday morning after you left, staying for another week. As checking-in is only after 14 h 00 and you were suppose the be out of the smaller unit at 10 h 00 and only coming back at 14 h 00 for the bigger unit? But we did our best to let you stay through-out, even though we had a tight schedule trying to accommodate you in this regard. If it wasn’t for the fact that we were extremely busy changing ALL the rooms for that Saturday night only, and the fact that your nanny had to move over as soon as possible form your first unit to this bigger unit with the little ones, we might have been able to change the single beds for the queen bed again but there was just not enough time and seeing you would come back late that night after the wedding you attended, we thought you would understand. Sorry, I should have asked you first and maybe I should have asked you to go out at 10 h 00 and come back at 14 h 00. I am truly sorry that your nanny and a child had to sleep on the less comfortable single beds. Sleeper couches are for kids and still in a good condition after 3 years. Sorry. While you were gone to the wedding, I went and even asked Lettie if she would be in need of anything extra as she was looking after the two kids. According to her everything was perfect…… I agree that 2 of the 4 single bed matrasses are not super quality, but why on earth would you want to put the super quality matrass’s we do have, on the floor? Even a bed base has a wooden, flat surface...... The extra piece of covered sponge to make up for the extra length bed, is to accommodate the matrass and work well? LIGHT: A very bright light is installed especially just above the cooking area….you should have followed the cable to the plug? BATHROOM: Due to Covid, we sanitize all units after cleaning. As your nanny and little one occupied the unit before you even came back, who knows who properly used the toilet or not? Used nappies? I think this is a bit unfair. I will contact you personally to try and make it up to you for your future visit. Regards Lidia

Quiet and relaxing venue with nice view of valley and mountains. Access via rough gravel roads damaged by heavy rains from cyclone Eloise. Hostess, Lydia Jacobs was very friendly and accommodating by re-assigning our room so we could be next to family.

If you are looking for something truly unique in Mpumulanga this place is exactly it. The beautiful rustic decor and design of the treehouse is magical and well thought out with attention to detail that makes this a perfect romantic getaway. Located up on a mountain underneath lush tropical plants and trees makes you feel like you are in a different world. To top it all off the host Lidia has been nothing other than wonderful and helpful. Overall a brilliant host. STUNNING!! Will be back very soon. Thank you for creating a beautiful space to come and relax and be away from the city.
