The wooden cabin we stayed in was 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms - it was gigantic with a view on the Sabie river. Very roomy. Maintenance a little lacking but quite adequate. Big stoep with gas braai. It counted in their favour that they kept the lights on until 10pm despite heavy load shedding. The main road leading there is unfortunately in a bad condition but once inside the resort, the roads are good. The convenience store do not keep perishables so stock up before arriving. Most of the accommodation have steps leading to the entrance - a small number of houses are wheelchair friendly; enquire beforehand.

A genuinely relaxing break. The resort is quite large and spaced out (car may be needed to move around sometimes), with good river frontage. You can see they put alot of effort into the maintenance of the resort grounds, facilities and chalets. Our chalet was huge and comfortable, the lighting in the living areas was quite poor though. Cleaning service was exceptional. I liked the gas braai, it saved me the need to buy charcoal. Leisure facilities were mostly open despite us visiting during Covid level 4 lock down, the main thing i missed was the night time outdoor fire at the restaurant. They have 3 pools which were not too cold to swim in, despite the peak of winter. The one has a slide, which is ok, not too exciting but you have to pay R 100 to use it and its not available at the pool or the shop next to the pool you have to go all the way to reception to buy the band. A good spot to hangout was the riverbank, with beautiful loungers, lawn, hanging swings, etc. You could do the tubing or the full river rafting as well. You could even wade in the river but be careful. If you get bored the Kruger park is about 20 minutes drive away, the panorama route a short hop and the town of Hazyview with its 2 malls, just 7 minutes by car. Halaal food is available barely 5 minutes away from the resort.

One tip, the shower heads could be a bit better.
A truly memorable experience.

We booked this accommodation to offer the children a little fun and relaxation after the safaris in the Kruger National Park. This resort is ideal for that. We had a rhino lodge with its own pool right on the Sabie River. The view was amazing. The house is clean, very well equipped (note: no self-catering possible as these facilities are missing) and has a hot pool on the terrace.

There is a very nice shop, a great spa and a large selection of sports activities, large pools with slides, mini golf, tennis, etc. Everything is free to use. The restaurant is OK, the range is sufficient. There is even pizza to take away.

The resort is fenced and safe.

Unfortunately the price is very high, but you get great service for that.

We booked a week stay for a extended family breakaway.
8 sleeper, 3 private bedroom wood lodge unit.
Cleaned daily, including the braai.
We are planning our next December vacation, in the same unit, what a fabulous treat!
Staff very friendly and helpful
Facilities clean and kept clean
The access roads are full of potholes and not in a great condition, but not the resorts fault
Great activities in the resort and close by

Hi Trevor, thank you for your review. We are glad that the overall cleanliness of our accommodation satisfied you, and we hope your stay was comfortable. We appreciate the wonderful compliments about our staff and we are sure they'll be happy to read your review. We are sorry that you had to drive on the not-so-great road to the resort, however, there is a better alternative route that a lot of our guests use. When you reach the turn or your GPS recommends the turn onto the dirt road rather than turning, continue straight on the R536. For peace of mind, you are welcome to contact our reception to direct you. Thanks for visiting us and we look forward to seeing you again in December. Regards, Hazyview Cabanas.

This resort is ok, but the kids love it. There are a number of pools including one that has a speed slide that the kids (and some adults) couldn’t get enough of. The jumping pillow also provides entertainment for children.
There are a few things that need improvement such as housekeeping. The braai area seems to be overlooked when they clean so the ashes from previous braai mix with rain to form a sludge which means you can’t have your well planned braai. The bins outside behind the unit don’t seem to be emptied regularly which provides a breeding ground for roaches- which I saw 2 of. Our unit towels were removed by housekeeping on the second day and not replaced for the remainder of our 5 day stay. We always take our own, but it was inexplicable why they were removed. Also note that there is no housekeeping on Sundays and public holidays. Finally, in summer it is really hot and humid and the unit did not have air conditioning, just fans which blow around the hot air without providing relief from the heat.
There is a convenience shop near the pools if you need to pick up a few things. It is super expensive (R30 for 1l of milk, R35 for 2l cooldrink, R5 for a lollipop, Dec 2020 prices) so you really pay for the convenience.
The resort is conveniently located for exploring the area- close to Kruger National Park and the Panorama Route.

What an excellent place to stay, clean update amenities especially in the units that we stayed in (Rhino). The staff were friendly, helpful and very professional. Even though it's self catering we opted to have some meals at the restaurant Good breakfast. lunch and dinner so spend the time enjoying your holiday not cooking. We also booked a half day to the Kruger on the premises so that was really convenient. They fetched and dropped us off at the reception also provided some light snacks. Was a lovely stay and I will definitely go back👍🏽

It's a lovely resort. We were three families and reserved a four-bedroom cabana (2 AC & 2 non-AC). It was clean and neat with a mini swimming pool. The cabana and restaurant views were spectacular. Amazing river bank; beware of Crocs and Hippos.

We stayed there the past weekend. The staff is all very friendly and the resort is neat and clean. We also had a lovely 2 bedroom chalet that is comfortable.
I only have 2 things that was a problem.
Our neighbors 2 chalets further thought on Friday and Saturday evening that they needed to make music for the whole resort. It was so lovely sitting outside and the next moment the silence that you want to enjoy is spoiled. We had to move inside and switch on the TV to blank out the music. Saterday evening the manager on duty did ask them to tone down, but we could still hear the noise. Not everyone enjoy the same music.
Suggestion: Please inform guest upfront that they would not be able to build a fire in the fireplace outside. We did not bring charcoal and had to buy at the shop. This cost us doubled than what we pay at home. We did take wood, because we normally braai with wood and it is nice to sit by the fire in the evening and just relaxing.

We stayed in a large three bedrooms, 8 sleeper so there was ample space for everybody. The unit needs an aircon. It was too hot. The resort offers speed slides at an extra cost. There is also adventure golf and fishing. The restaurant offers a relaxing viewing spot looking out to the passing Sabi river. We will definitely visit again.

Dear Ozaheera, Thank you for reviewing our resort. We are pleased that you all enjoyed your recent family holiday spent at our lovely resort, which is nestled along the banks of the Sabi River. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next visit. Why not consider Winter? Apart from the cooler temperature, the low rainfall ensures fantastic game viewing in the nearby Kruger National Park as the bushveld is dryer and animals tend to gather around waterholes. Kind regards Hazyview Cabanas
