Liked · The resort is a wonderful location set in a spacious golf course that hosts an abundance of wildlife including a herd of impala, monkeys, birds and a hippo lake with a lot of other animals in residence.
The main restaurant and swimming pool complex are lovely to relax in. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced and the service is excellent.
There is also a small outdoor pool with a picnic area close to 257b where you can relax and bring your own food and drinks.
Housekeeping attends every day except Sunday.
Great security with main gate checks and a manned inner gate for added safety. Having said this, moving around the local area and shopping malls we felt at home and completely safe and saw no examples of threat or intimidation.

Disliked · The lodge at 257B is beginning to suffer a bit from wear and tear.
On arrival, we discovered some evidence of neglect and inattention by the maintenance staff. Most notable was the number of sticky and squeaky doors.
The cooker controls were also faulty and tripped the power out. A blind in one of the bedrooms was hanging off. The kitchen clock needed a new battery as did one of the TV remote controls.
There were also many cigarette burns to the sofa and cushions in the lounge and an iron burn on one of the carpets.
After using the dishwasher the power also tripped overnight. The next day one of the staff showed me there was a faulty earth trip fuse that needed to be firmly pushed to reset it.
To be fair to the agent who was always available via WhatsApp the problems were all sorted out very quickly with repair to the cooker and blinds being done the same day.
We slept in the upstairs mezzanine room. The bed was too hard for us but an abundance of extra pillows made a great extra mattress.
The small security safe in the lodge was left locked and the manager had to come with the key to open it. Luckily I knew how to reset the code as he had no clue.
My feeling was that numerous people before us had just left a lot of these faults unreported and that there were obviously no checks done by the resort to make sure everything was working.

We spent a whole week as a family in one of the wonderful lodges of the Kruger Park Lodge near Hazyview for the second time, 7 years apart. We liked it so much that we dared to book the facility for the second time (which we normally never do). We were not disappointed! The Kruger Park Lodge provided us with important information before we arrived. Checking in was also problem-free. The lodge itself was incredibly spacious, very well maintained and equipped with everything you could wish for, including a pool. We had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a huge kitchen, a huge living room, a terrace with a pool and a grill with a table for six people. Everything had been thought of. However, we needed our LED lamps during the scheduled "loadshedding" (the power cut). The maid came every day and cleaned, washed up and left everything as good as new. A swimming pool cleaner came to clean our pool. An employee cleaned the grill that we had used the night before and made it sparkling clean again. One evening, our house key broke. We contacted the landlord. He then informed the caretaker service, who brought a new key at 10 o'clock at night - unbelievable!
The car was parked next to the entrance under the roof. The entire complex is monitored by security and we never felt unsafe.
We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant at the Kruger Park Lodge. The waiters were attentive, but not all equally so.
The reception staff were very friendly, even if not all of them were experienced. All processes worked perfectly, questions were answered competently. For example, we used the laundry service.
You can also go for wonderful walks in the complex. You can go to the banks of the Sabie River (secured), there is also a boma (barbecue area). You can also go to the dam and look at the hippos and weaver birds. A large number of impalas roam freely in the complex, which come very close to the houses. Various monkeys also visited us.
It is only a short drive from the complex to the nearest shopping center. We would recommend "Checkers" because they have high-quality food, good grilled meat and good wine.
The journey from the Kruger Park Lodge to the Kruger Park is easy. We took the Kruger Gate because using the Numbi Gate was still officially discouraged.

There are a number of shops and restaurants near the Kruger Park Lodge, which we also visited. We were able to travel in the dark without any problems, even though this is not recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kruger Park Lodge, the location is perfect both for safari and all the sightseeing in the Panoramic route, and with many restaurants and shops available 5min drive in Hazyview. The facilities are really well taken care of, we used the pool, the tennis court and run around the walking trail in the morning. Our lodge was fully renovated with beautiful decoration, fully equipped kitchen and had an inverter for loadshedding, so that made our stay really easy and comfortable at all times. We also used the bbq outside and the jacuzzi was a plus, although it was a bit too hot for it! Definitely a recommended place when going to the Kruger area!

Kubu Chalet at Kruger Park Lodge is an absolutely stunning home which is stylishly furnished and in immaculate condition. We were so impressed with the quality of the accommodation and furnishings, it was a welcome pleasure after the bare-basics accommodation at Kruger National Park, and much more affordable too. The home was quiet, well-protected from insects, had all the modern cons and was located on the edge of the grounds with forest next to it.

Kruger Park Lodge is set on beautiful grounds, with lots of wildlife, well maintained gardens and a hippo pool! The food in the restaurant was excellent and service was great.

We thouragly enjoyed our stay! The location is close to Phabeni-hek Gate of Kruger Park making day trip very possible. The gardens are kept in very good state and walking trails are accessible for the elderly. The chalets are very well equipped and in great condition.

The service at Kruger Park Lodge was truly exemplatory.
Houses are serviced daily and are of top quality.
The location is conveniently close to the Phabeni and Kruger gates of Kruger National Park.
I love that gardens are kept magnificently, and water purifying processes was implemented.
Animal life is around and flowers and trees are lucious.
New additions are visible when returning year after year.
Load shedding has been restricted with solar installations.
Currently Fibre is being installed.
Upgrades are done continuously on units.

Zebula itself is a wonderful location, and we have rented many homes in the past.
The house is easy to find and has a nice position that is very private.
The home has potential but unfortunately, we did not have a good experience.
We did not have hot water to half the house as the element in the geyser had burned out. The one shower head had broken off so that left two operational showers for 14 pax.
The pool and firepit area was not accessible as it was under construction. We were only notified two days before our stay that we would not be allowed to use the pool due to a mudslide due to the rain (no mention that it was actually under construction and that this was the actual reason it couldn't be used). We were offered to move our booking to another weekend but this was not an option as we had booked for international guests.
If you're looking for an average place to stay, you don't mind a few cockroaches, chipped crockery & one ply toilet paper, then this is the house for you!

Pros: Responsive rental agent for this privately owned home. Beautiful location and resort, Nice house and view, Great location. Lots of wildlife on the property. Wonderful daily maid service. Food and resort facilities very nice.

Cons: No WIFI” in house. WIFI can be purchased at the resort but is very expensive. Pictures as to size of twin rooms somewhat misleading, and large discrepency in the qualityof the four main bedrooms which was akward for our group of adults. Fifth bedroom had no a/c or ran and very small. The AC was out for several days and conditions uncomfortable. Outside living spaces need cleaning. Several maintenance problems (e.g., large roof leak over main dining area on patio, broken door). Key situation very confusing.

Overall enjoyed the stay but it was not issue free and if it had been hotter would have been a real problem.

It's great that they have taken measures to ensure that load shedding doesn't negatively impact the holiday experience. The dedication to providing a seamless and enjoyable stay, especially considering the challenges like load shedding, reflects the commitment of the lodge to customer satisfaction. The attention to detail in addressing such issues adds value to the overall experience.

Unit 87 at Kruger Park Lodge does not have a great configuration and is not in the most ideal spot. But you get what you pay for. Their units 54 to 67 are more expensive but are super units and are much better situated. We book every year to stay in one of these. You will not be dissapointed if you can book a unit in this area

Hello , May onward is a low risk period for malaria in the kruger they estimate 1 in 24000 but obviously there is a risk , there are medical prophylactics you can take as an adult but none really suitable for an 8 month old , there are methods to keep safe by wearing long trousers and long sleeve tops from late afternoon to early morning if outdoors indoors most rooms have screens and AC as well as fans of air is moving there is little risk so using natural mosquito repellents advised rub in the exposed areas keep baby indoors at night with doors windows closed or take portable mosquito nets to sleep under most chalets have exposed rafters you can tie the nets to these that will be effective especially for baby , I have been to kruger in peak season for 25 years now without medication, no incidents even with my young kids as long as you take precautions it’s fine , hope this helps
