Detailed Reviews
All staff members (Reception, Security, Restaurant and room cleaners) were friendly and helpful., They made my mom's birthday 8th October extra special.
The venue rooms, restaurant, bar and pool area were extremely clean.
Covid 19 Regulations followed at all times, they even had masks handy at the Reception.
Would also like to say thank you to Happiness and Shadrack from Tingala travel and safaris for an amazing well guided Kruger tour. Your service is definitely exceptional.

We stayed on a round trip with Studiosus Trips for 3 nights at Hazyview Sun Hotel. The hotel is located just outside Hazyview and is just a few kilometers from Krugerpark. It is very nicely located and consists of several individual complexes. The extensive hotel complex also includes an outdoor pool and a bar with a beautiful outdoor terrace with beautiful panoramic views.
We had room number 42. The room was very spacious and clean. The equipment was upscale but not entirely new. The double bed was big enough with not sagged but good mattresses. Also the air conditioning worked perfectly. The bathroom was big. The shower very spacious and the water worked perfectly. The room was relatively dark due to the dark interior colour scheme as well as the location or its cut and only one window. Also, not all light sources worked perfectly.
But this did not stop the whole thing. We felt very comfortable there.
The meals are administered in a hall that has a canteen character. all meals were administered in buffet form with good selection. There was also a cooking station where some of the food was also prepared live. This both at breakfast and dinner buffet.
The staff was very open-minded throughout, very friendly and helpful. In the spacious outdoor area, a few monkeys (sea cats) roamed occasionally, which contributed to the exotic/subtropical atmosphere.
Not only the facility itself, but also its location for excursions is positive. It was the starting point for the panoramic tour and a safari through Krugerpark.

Not a 5 star but I thought it was great
Staff were very friendly
Food was very good
Drinks at the bar were very reasonable (for a Canadian)
The back patio and pool area were my favourite,I ate every meal outside
The guy complaining about a biscuit on his pillow is way to uptight
As far as the space under the door, looks like they have added a strip to help with that.
As far as bugs,I saw one bug in our room, but remember you are not in the city.
I would stay there again, you are 1/2 hour to Kruger park

+1
A group of friends and I recently stayed at Hazyview Sun as a part of a package through Exoticca travel. From the moment we arrived, we were treated so well. Fresh iced tea was waiting for us at reception. Our luggage was brought to our room quickly, and when we discovered a smaller bed was in our room than what we had intended, the front desk was quick to give us a lovely upgraded room. Dinner each night was so fresh and delicious. The chef used the perfect blend of spices to really bring the meals alive. The grounds are beautiful, and our rooms were very clean and comfortable. We were a short drive away from Kruger National Park, which was the main reason for our stay in the area. However, we really enjoyed coming to the resort after our full day safaris to unwind and enjoy the amenities. I highly recommend a stay at Hazyview Sun!

The hotel is well situated for visits to the Kruger National Park and Mpumalanga which involves Gods Window, Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Burke’s Lunch etc and is nicely placed on the R40, which is a fast road.
The breakfast is one of the best you will get in SA but evening meals vary from good to mediocre. The good news is you can eat in town (Hippo Hollow or Pioneer).
Accommodation is getting a bit tired but the setting is fantastic with a swimming pool. You sometimes get woke up by monkeys, we thought that was brilliant.
Staff are very friendly and add value to the stay and rooms maintained to a good standard.
Would definitely stay there again.

Although there are a lot of hotels in the Hazyview area, Protea has never disappointed us. Protea Hazyview is not one of the modern hotels in the Protea group, but definitely value for money. It has a stunning view and is centrally located with a lot of places to visit in the area. The rooms need a bit of TLC. Helpful and friendly staff. We also enjoyed a great breakfast.

Great location for visiting Kruger National Park and about a 20 minute drive to the park. Rooms are large and comfy but you do have to keep the windows close because of bugs. Lots of sitting in the bar and dining room and can handle large groups.

Beautiful small hotel away from Central Hazyview, cozy and peaceful.
The room was extremely comfortable with a sliding door which leads to the patio and a little garden.
There's a little desk where one can work if need be.
Air conditioner was a relief in the summer heat.
The meals were good and adequate.

Chisywhizzy asked a question Nov 2019
Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom68 contributions18 helpful votesIs the bbq with cultural dancing on on a Friday night. We’ve booked here and would love this. Thanks
Hello. They actually had that on one of the nights I was there, it was a Monday evening. So Perhaps the days they have it changes. I unfortunately did not inquire on the frequency of the event.
To my knowledge, this has NOT been resolved. You can contact them for the latest information. Since we were NOT working remotely (we were on vacation, after all), it was an "inconvenience" and NOT a "must have". I hope this helps.
Sorry, but we travelled with organized group, we did not contact this hotel directly
