We overnighted here after an eventful trip from Durban during the riots on our way to Satara in Kruger. It was perfect, a piece of paradise, with a sunset that no camera can do justice to and view over the Sabie Valley to match. Rob and Dawn are excellent hosts welcoming us like long lost friends. The whole place is a perfect blend of art and function and fits unobtrusively into the indigenous bush and is beautiful even in the dead of winter. Next time we need a place to stay in the area, this will be it.

We have been to Ashbourne several times but usually for a short stay en route somewhere. In June we decided to spend 5 nights at this wonderful retreat and it was well worth it. The property is amazing with fantastic views , excellent accommodation , and good food. We were welcomed back by the genial and generous host Rob Topham who kept us entertained during our regular sundowners over looking the Sabie Valley. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make sure your needs are looked after. It was a wonderful 5 days and we cant wait to go back.

I recently enjoyed a very special stay at Ashbourne Country Escape. I have to point out some really exceptional things which I felt made this experience even more remarkable. On arriving we were treated to some of the friendliest staff I have ever come across. Nothing was ever too much for them and we were shown around and taken to our rooms which then proved a real eye opener. The rooms were spacious, tastefully laid out, and furnished with the linen crisp and clean. The beds were also extremely comfortable which made for a relaxing and wonderful nights rest. We enjoyed all the meals we had ( breakfast and dinner ), and not only was the food absolutely delicious, served in a well presented manner, we were again treated to the exceptional friendliness of the waiters and kitchen staff. Rob and Dawne, the owners and hosts, couldn’t have treated each guest any better. They were both entertaining, and interesting, and were of real value in promoting the area generally and informative of what may have interested us. I have to say that I would gladly recommend this wonderful little gem, not for just the outstanding points above, but for many other areas as well.

Warm and welcoming by owners who make you feel like you part of their family, whilst giving you all the privacy. You can sense the hard work and building towards a dream. The personal touch to décor details through to the delicious meals served. Our room was very spacious with a lovely lounge with fire place and open plan kitchen with all the equipment you would need. Our bedroom was well appointed with a very comfortable bed and mosquito net. We had a beautiful patio with private plunge pool. The views were absolutely astounding. My wife and I will certainly return.
