We were in a chalet as couples 4people I really enjoyed the rooms maybe the only disappointment was the cleaners never changes the sheets and they had some, stains as white sheets are very sensitive. The TV was also not working until the last day of our trip so I believe when I send what time I will checkin the management is supposed to check if everything is in order and working as having to wait for the technicians to come and fix the TV. Can the hotel also look into including sabc on TV some of us still enjoy watching our weekly soapies and having not those channels was a bummer.

Large chalet close to the Kruger Phabeni gate. Furnishes were in a good condition, beds were comfortable and linen clean and crisp. There was no aircon and the dining room has a skylight which allows the sun to beat down for hours each day. Aircons are essential in Hazyview climate it was very hot and humid every day during our stay .Gardens are looking tired and not looked after, its a pity as Waterberry hill set in a beautiful area.

If you can try to get clean water. We failed to use jacuzzi because water is brown full of mud. There is a sign at swimming pool for no glasses & alcohol but people were there with glasses plates bottles of beers drinking at swimming pool. I was not comfortable with that

I guess the load shedding crisis in SA is not the hotels fault, but when the lights go out, it is seriously dark and super hot.

Candles were provided when asked.

Only fans even thought they were nice quality fans, are not enough to curb that February heat.

It was clean & staff very attentive. The one thing that I really did not like, was the smell of the water. I ran myself a bath & could bring myself to get into it, so stuck with a very quick shower. I would have like to have known if it was safe to drink.

Otherwise a pleasant stay

The reception was very warm. The place was close to the places of interest. Our house assistant was a lovely lady with a great heart. She was of great help. The place, wow, very beautiful! I'll recommend it to my friends. We'll come back again. We enjoyed our time there!

Only certain units have security doors at their patio doors and not at the back door.We had to stop an attempted armed robbery at 1:20 in the morning at our back door.Other people were robbed of all their belongings.Their unit don't even had security doors. How did the robbers get access to the lodge if they have an electric fence and roaming security guards.

We arrived late at night and were treated like royalty - we were even offerred a bottle of wine, but all we wanted after travelling so far was a shower and a bed. Everything from there was uphill. There was nothing that the staff would not organise - from tours to having our washing and ironing done for us. They even organised a massage for both of us in a very romantic setting. The resort has everything for couples and families. Each chalet has its own full kitchen with the supermarket only 5 minutes by car. For children there was the mini-golf course, the playground, the jumping castle, pool, games room, outdoor supersize chess set, farmyard and organised activities. For families there was the weekly braii, the spa, and the usual tours. A car is absolutely essential. We hired a Honda Jazz and it was more than adequate. The service at this resort was par excellence and I highly recommend a stay here - you will not regret it. And if you are lazy (like us), leave all the arrangements for tours to reception. We had a marvellous time. They even organised a romantic dinner at a restaurant about 5 minutes away. We did have to negotiate dirt roads to get there. When we were "robbed" by the local traffic officer, the management even organised a visit from the local detectives, who organised a sting operation to catch the culprit. We did not get our money back, but at least we had closure.

We booked a midweek at Waterberry Hill in July and asked my sister and brother in law to accompany us. We had no spa bath as we were told that the resort was "fully booked". When we arrived at our unit and inspected it we found that the bathroom was invested with red ants. We went and reported it at the office and they sent someone to come and clean up. The next day when we came back the bath and interior had even more ants crawling all over and we guessed that there must be a nest. We phoned the Manager and complained. He then asked if we wanted to move but as it was late we said No. The next day we moved to another unit. There we were met with a stinking fridge. We phoned for someone to come and clean it up. The smell still persisted after the cleaner left and my husband then decided to clean it with our own cleaning aid. We were rather disgusted that the Manager did not once phone or inquire if things were in order now. No apology for having to move a second time was made either. Obviously they were also not "fully booked" as our neighbours also moved from their first unit. There is also NO MIRROR by the plugs in the rooms if you would like to blow wave your hair. How does this work? I personally think they need to sharpen up on their Management. On one occasion we saw one of the staff members lying on his arms resting. What impression does this leave? Waterberry Hill again? I do not think so. We were extremely embarassed in front of our family.

This was the second time that we stayed at Waterberry Hill and again it was really an experience. The staff were Excellent. If you go to the Kruger National Park...... do not use the Orpen gate, the road are used by maniac drivers. Rather use the gate at Hazywiev. Thanks again to the staff, we enjoyed our stay.

When my parents told me that they will be staying at Waterberry Hill, I was very nervous because of the previous reviews. "Dirty jacuzzi, theft, bad maintenance" But I was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case for us. You put in your own water for the jacuzzi, so if the water is dirty must be the water from the municipality (You buy your own electricity).

The units are very spacious, nice lighting by the braai area and enough linen and blankets to be very comfortable. The manager on Duty Melanie was very helpful, my dad phoned her almost non stop about things and she answered everything professionally and calmly. They have very a very nice putt-putt course for the kids and also a cool jungle gym.

The ONLY complaint that I would have is the road, dont brind your mercedes or BMW, the dirt road is very bad on the way to the resort and the road inside the resort also needs a little bit of attention.

We didnt feel unsafe at all. The security people walked past our chalet often to ensure our safety and the doors of the patio had proper gates and locks. My stepmom even went for a full body massage and a facial which she absolutely loved.

No, I dont understand the previous comments, it might be that they had bad experiences and management changed it all for the better.
