The Sabie River Bush Lodge is celebrated for its comfortable and clean rooms, though some guests suggest the exterior could use a touch-up. Reviewers often regard the lodge as a good value, although a few find the safari costs high. The cleanliness is exemplary, with unique services like nightly car washing earning particular praise. The amenities, including scenic river views and wildlife encounters, enhance guest experiences, as does the exceptional service, with staff members going above and beyond by providing pre-packed breakfasts for early excursions. While its location near Kruger Park is mostly cherished for its stunning views, guests should note that it may come with some noise.

This flat is within easy walking distance of St Michael's beach and perfect for a holiday at the beach. You can see the ocean from the balcony window so will easily know the weather conditions. The flat has been refurbished fairly recently and everything is in good condition.

This flat is a decent size with 3 decent size bedrooms, all with double/queen beds and one with a set of bunk beds suitable for children. The kitchen is large and well equipped. Two bathrooms with showers, one of which is en-suite. Water pressure was fairly low (this flat is one floor above ground) but that issue is municipal and fairly common on the South Coast. The balcony is very small and there is no outdoor area where one can sit. Because we came for the beach and were all adults, it was fine for us but many nearby units have larger balconies where one can sit and eat..

This flat as we booked it on Agoda is not serviced and also doesn't have a dish washer. We were fine to wash our own dishes but just be aware that you must be willing to do so. We only stayed 5 nights sot I'm not sure how they would have handled the issue of dirty towels and so on had we stayed longer. After 5 nights some of the towels needed to be changed, and the bathroom floors had some sand that needed cleaning. If booking for a week or longer, one would need to clarify this servicing issue.

We also had an incident where a maid or someone in the flat above put a lot of water on the above balcony and it cascaded down onto our balcony. Fortunately it had been threatening rain so our towels were elsewhere but had they been there, they would have been totally soaked. The building management needs to control the use of water on the balconies as it could have destroyed anything that was on our balcony.

The flat also only has one parking space, but perhaps one could negotiate for another, again check with the management. The parking is secure and under cover.

The location of the lodge on the Sabie River is amazing with hippo's swimming and grazing at the deck and pool. We spotted elephant coming to drink water as well as kudu. Close proximity to 2 of Kruger Parks gates also makes it ideal and our breakfast was ready and packed for us to leave at 5.30 in the mornings for the Park. Staff are friendly and eager to help. The only complaint is guests who play loud music in a place where people come for the peace and quiet and to be in nature.

Location is excellent very near from Paul Kruger Gate
Only negative is that kitchen and bathroom are not attached to your tent. So at night if you want to use bathroom then you have to go out of your tent.
Tent was nice and clean from inside
Service was good
We never tried food as we self catered
Overall all was good in that price R1180 per night we paid

I had a really great time , the staff were so friendly and service was great. The fact that my car was washed daily was such a treat since the roads I travelled were pretty dusty. I enjoyed the meals, in particular breakfast on the patio, whilst watching the hippos frolicking in the river. Will definitely make my way to Sabie River Bush Lodge again. Thanks!

Although the entrance road is gravel, it takes you into the most exquisite glamping experience. Fixed canvas tents on the riverbanks, with white linen, inside and outside shower, and wide views of the Sabie-river and Kruger Game Reserve.
They have their own pod of hippopotamuses right in front of the swimming pool and bar areas.
The food is 5-star, and we ate here the best oxtail stew ever. Drinks are priced fair, being lower than most other places.
No shops closeby, thus bring everything you might need to nibble on after dinner.
The full-day game drive with Mornoe was fabulous and well worth the expense.

The place was far from most activities except for the Kruger National Park which is some 19ks from the lodge.

The cleanliness of the place could definitely improve, especially the old bath towels with holes and small size, they are actually head towels and not bath towels.

The staff was amazing, extremely friendly and helpful. The lodge was safe and has an amazing view.

The kitchen menu could also use some improvements as we could only be offered chips for lunch and nothing else, a simple request for fish to be included with the chips was not welcomed kindly but eventually was provided.

Highlight of our stay was the staff. Lloyd was an absolute sweetheart.

The lodge is not a bad place, it's quite beautiful and serene.

My wife and I enjoyed a most pleasurable stay in this beautiful setting that is ideal for couples who want a retreat experience away from life's noise. The overnight facilities were clean and fresh, and most comfortable. The friendly staff were always at hand to make our experience even the more delightful and stress free. We made use of the offer to do a Kruger morning trip arranged by the lodge, and it was so professionally done and real value for money. The meals were all top class and very tasty. The quiet evenings around the fire overlooking the Sabie river were a great way to relax at the end of each day. We are most satisfied, thank you.

The river lodge is situated next to the Sabie river with a beautiful view of the river and the Kruger park on the opposite side of the river. The pool deck is also situated overlooking the river and the park. The accomodation is basic and clean with air conditioning and a great shower. The restaurant is also overlooking the river. The breakfast is very nice with a lot to choose from as one would be expecting for the price paid, but the dinner to the contrary is very poor and far below par.

We were amazed at the spacious tent unit with beautiful, spacious private batheroom and well-equopped litchenette in a separate building behind the tent. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. The staff deliver a service well beyond what one would expect: friendly, on-hand, reaching out. The boma fire was lit for our convenience, while sitting on the deck watching the hippos in the pool. Our car and bushwagon were washed prior to departure. The meal was okay, venison a bit tough, but overall a stay I would recommend to anyone looking for a convenient stopover on the way to the Kruger National Park, or as a visit on its own. We will be back !

Only the self catering units have fridges / freezers. They have a fully stocked, well priced bar.

To stay at S is in total aa much lower price then inside Kruger Park. But I must say to stay more north, in Makutsi privat Safari park is a nicer stay where you cone closer to the animals

Hi Most of the rates are dinner, bed and breakfast. I think the "half board" refers to breakfast and dinner (not lunch). I can highly recommend the resort. Cheers
