Probably the best Africa can offer. Remote yet 3 hours from Johannesburg. No TV, wifi only in lounge. All rooms are private with air conditioning and fan, no malaria, magnificent vistas, excellent food with an unforgettable bush dinner, mature and knowledgeable ranger, 5-star accommodation. The lodge manager and staff are the best in the industry. A river cruise is a...

My experience the Trails was amazing!Completely different to what Id just experienced from the Marataba Lodge, which was very disappointing. The Trails team were consistently more engaged and paid significant attention to detail-very impressive!Dalmane prepared such great cuisine - he went all out), the game drive & walks with Ralph&the lady ranger were so memorable (the two had such a...

Our experience with Marataba Trails Lodge was truly amazing and (we hope) not a once-in-a-lifetime experience. In particular, our guides Matt and Adam were perfect. While their knowledge of the animals and facts and figures we assumed comes with their role, their personalities and humor was an immediate match for us from the first 10 minutes we were in the...

Great to chat till late with other guests and then walk back to your room with a torch and see small night creatures. Adam and Matt spoiled us...

Arriving at this lodge is nothing short of magical. I am trying to think of superlatives which may explain just how incredible this lodge is, but I can't touch on any words which quite describe this place. You simply must visit and experience it for yourself. The decor of the lodge is something straight out of a vogue magazine and...

What a beautiful secluded place to experience! The view can not be compared to anything else. If you want to get completely away from everyone this is the place to go. The chef was fantastic and the meals never disappointed. All staff was wonderful. Rooms have the best view ever.

We spent 5 nights in the marataba trail lodge during our 4 weeks honeymoon. Location is amazing at the foot of a hill in the middle of the bush. Wild animals always wandering around. The rooms are just perfect overlooking the bush and very private. There are only 5 rooms for a maximum of 10 guests so it's very intimate...
