The camping site we stayed was clean with all the necessary amenities available within short walking distance (Toilets, Showers and place to wash dishes)
We enjoyed the quietness of the bush and was able to cool off in a small pool that is well maintained.
The amenities was cleaned daily and always tidy
Even with other campers at the other camping sites it was as if you were the only one there.
It is a great place for bird watchers as there is so many species.
Matamba is well maintained with many buck and other animals to spot.
The best of all is that you have to walk where you want to go and no driving is allowed.
Thank you Sue and Allan for a wonderful stay

Spent a long weekend at Tau camp with family and friends. Campsites are spacious and far apart from one another; braai areas are cleaned daily. Ablutions are amazing; cleaned and sanitised twice daily. Beautiful place to unwind. Wonderful walks and sightings. Friendly hosts are very special people indeed. Very impressed and will definitely be back.

The experience we had at the lodge and the way we were able to get so up close to the animals was a surreal experience.

The hosts and stuff was so welcoming and helpful through out our stay and we felt so at home and comfortable.

I would highly recommend this place for a time away from the fast pace city life.

It's great destination for international visitor who would love to get up close and maybe personal with the wildlife 😁

Fantastic experience! Francolin was a fabulous camp with water and an electricity point. We had three beautiful ablutions at our disposal. Two of them outside in a beautiful setting. Carol and Richard were fabulous hosts. John came to check on us regularly, and made sure we had enough wood for our fire. Definitely one of my favorite camping sites!

A fantastic few days in the bush. Richard and Carol were fabulous hosts, and it was a real pleasure to share their beautiful spot in the bush with them. Facilities were clean and well appointed, and our walk was lovely.

We had an absolutely incredible weekend at the Tau Camp at Matamba. Campsite was superb and absolutely private; not to mention massive and extremely well equipped. The shared facilities were nothing short of luxurious and the outside shower is a must! Fantastic game viewing and truly great hosts. Will definitely be back!

Careful thought, creativity and good tast have gone into making this camping experience unique in the area. The camp sites are few and placed far enough from each other to allow for peace and quiet. The ablutions (if they can be called ablutions) are five star. There is a swimming pool to wallow in during the hot lazy days. Free firewood is provided. Last but not least, they offer guided game rides on very good horses.

We were looking for a spot in the Waterberg area for two days and I found this camp on the internet without knowing what to expect.
Unfortunately we were a bit lost as directions were given for people coming from the South. We were coming from the North, so we had a little detour. Didn't matter though.
When we arrived we were amazed how much space we had for our jeep with our roof tent. The really lovely hosts told us that only five spots for camping are available so we ended up having a huge spot for ourselves.
In the middle of our spot we had a fire place including wood, which we used every day while looking at the stars. We got a little tour and found great open air toilet and shower, covered toilet and shower and all the little details made it really special.
We were told how to find our way around (walking allowed, driving is a no no no). There are different walks you can try and you have to make sure that you follow the different signs on the trees (giraffe trail, lizzard trail etc.). That was a bit funny as it was like a little adventure but when having the second walk we managed to find our way around. There are hides on the way, water holes etc. It was beautiful!
If you tell your hosts in advance you can order some selfcooked food.
What I really enjoyed was that the hosts and staff was really lovely. The "ice-service" for the sun downer was a lovely idea.

An amazing experience. The staff as well as the service was beyond the norm. They made us feel as if we were royalty. The chalets are wonderful- both spacious and decorated to theme. The food is brilliant and the main lodge is beautifully authentic with this huge double sided fireplace and views of the plains. I will advise every person who wants a relxing, enjoyable holiday to have a look at this place. 5 stars dont do it justice.

Have been here twice now and Matamba is a real haven. The campsites are very spacious and you hardly notice your neighbours. The amenities are super clean and well maintained. Everything blends in very well with the nature. The reserve is big enough to walk for hours while meeting giraffe, sabre antilope, eland, kudu, many birds. If you are lucky, you can join the feeding tour around the reserve with the owners. I can greatly recommend Matamba Bush Camp.
