We have had the pleasure of staying at Di-Ella self catering Game Lodge recently and were very pleased with the 4 star accommodations (wheel chair accessible throughout) the scenery as far as the eye can see on 2200ha and the big 5 including White Rhino, African Buffalo, lots of giraffe and the Leopard. We saw wild animals we had never heard of before as we come from western Canada.

We had our own private chalet with thatched roof and watched animals right off our deck. Other amenities that we enjoyed were hot tub Jacuzzi, campfire and barbecue outside and the fireplace in the main lodge.

We took advantage of the late afternoon safari drive with Russell and watched the sunset. The next morning he picked us up and took us out to a delightful champagne bush breakfast in the wild (presented by Lauren)

This place is only 20km outside Polokwane (formerly Pietersburg) so it is easily accessible.
Confirming their brochure which states : “You will return again and again for the views, the hospitality, the stress-free environment and the uplifting of body and soul”

Stayed here for first 2 nights of our 3 week SA & Botswana holiday. Arrived tired, hot and desperately in need of quality relaxation ....and boy! Did we get it!!! Could not have chosen a better place to start what turned into our most amazing ever holiday (and we've had a few!). Lauren and Russel are the perfect hosts and are supported by wonderful staff. From start to finish the experience at Di-Ella was magic. We kicked the stay off with a bush braai which can only be described as sensational. We felt like royalty arriving in the bush and walking along a candle lit path to the boma where the service and food was wonderful.

The accommodation is out of this world - comfortable, luxurious and at all times our every need was met. In fact Lauren went out of her way to ensure that our stay was all that we could wish for. We opted for the catered pakage with suggestions made by Lauren as to what and where - an excellent choice that we highly recommend although for those who want to self cater the facilites are more than adequate.

The individual lodge rooms were wonderful and beautifully maintained. Each was private with a large deck area affoding spectacular views. The communal (can you call an area that serves 6 communal?) was spacious and comfortable and the jacuzzi and rock pool made the outdoor areas as perfect as the indoor.

All in all I cannot praise this place and those who work here enough. For us it was the perfect start to a perfect holiday and for that we sincereley thank Lauren & Russell.

We have spent quite a few wonderful weekends here, just love the feeling of leaving the hustle and bustle and being in the bush, but not only are the surroundings breath taking the accommodation is also excellent. Lovely evenings spent around a large fire watching shooting stars.

Thanks to Lauren & Russell at Di-Ella.
We only stayed for 2 nights at the end our African adventure, but had a truly wonderfully relaxing experience, especially as we didn't realise we would have the whole lodge all to ourselves. The game drive was excellent and meeting the herd of giraffe made it all so worthwhile, and the special bush dinner you put on for us made it complete.

We arrived at the lodge and could not stop smiling, what a beautiful place! The reception and service was excellent, and we enjoyed walking around the lodges, swimming in the rock pools, and having a braai in the evening. The jacuzzi was such a treat and we sat in it for hours in the evening. The lodges were perfect, with amazing views, even from the toilet :) The beds were comfy and a nice stocked fridge with drinks.
We had a game drive late afternoon and enjoyed hearing the guide tells us all about the reserve and the animals we saw, plenty of animals to see.
We had a bush breakfast which made us feel like royalty, the staff really paid so much attention to detail.
We were sad to leave and will for sure come back to this amazing place ! Thanks to Lauren and Russell for making us feel so welcome.
